Ok, so post here when you can play Co-Op on portal 2 and your steam id.. I NEED FRENDZ TO PLAY WIF.. Single player is fun.. but co-op was a lot more fun.
PS. I have it for ps3, but if you didn’t know they are connected via steam so we can still play together. I just posted it here because I figured more people would have it for PC.

PSN has been down all day.. which means I can’t connect to steam either..
I’ll be available to play pretty much whenever until Monday. After that, I’ll be limited to the weekends. It’s worth mentioning that my microphone isn’t wrking at the moment.

I have it, sn should be dustincf, bloodlord, or dustincfaulkner. I won’t being play alot until exams are over. FYI sv_cheats 1 and noclip ftw if you get tired of the same puzzels over and over.

So first they didn’t know why things were down, then blamed the outage on hackers, then took it down to “investigate” the “intrusion”, now they’re “re-building our system to further strengthen our network infrastructure”.
So in essence, they broke something. Since Steamworks was the latest addition I imagine the system couldn’t handle the total epicness of PC players using their network so they’re having to rebuild it. Faster, stronger, more MBs. I want the one with more emm-bees.

That could be it.. or it could be an exploit in the latest version of PS Home which was just released as well. Portal 2 requires the latest 3.6 firmware.. (The first game to do so) and this firmware hasn’t been cracked yet.. so I don’t think it’s steam but it is possible.. Probably won’t be any way to know since sony will most likely not tell us anything.
All we know is that they’re trying to make it more secure and have to have the whole thing shut down to do it. I want 6 extra days of PS+ and free stuffs for my pain and suffering.
You and I both know that security changes don’t require that the entire system be shut down to code. You make the changes on a test server and when you’re done you push it to the production servers.
Me thinks Sony needs a lesson in how to run a datacenter.
i still need to buy this game. Since I missed out on the awesome preorder sales (don’t get me started on this), I am now stuck waiting to find this on sale on steam or otherwheres. I refuse to pay more than $35, even though it is worth more than that.

It’s a great game.. dont get me wrong.. Awesome story and inventive, original, and exciting gameplay.. Very entertaining and i’m definitely glad I bought it.
but it’s horribly short. I’m not sure that it is worth more than $35. I’ve finished the single player and after I finish the multiplayer, I’m not sure if I will ever play the game again..
It’d be nice if they had community created levels.. That would make the game worth full price any day of the week.
My understanding is that they plan to release more content through DLC. For PC, this will most likely be free.
I’ve also heard rumors that they might release the tools to create maps. If that happens GG.

From what I’ve read, the whole reason they did this is because of a newer CFW(re-bug) that allows people to imitate a dev console on PSN… Apparently they didn’t lock the network down at all to dev consoles because they assumed no one would ever get one.
So naturally they punish everyone by shutting down the network for a week.. longest outage evar.
That’s what I had heard but why on earth would Sony give developer consoles such widespread access? Download anything for free? No one has ever done that, for obvious reasons. It’s a security breach waiting to happen. Yeah it’s nice to ASSUME that no one’s ever going to get one but that’s like assuming no one’s ever going to crack your proprietary security algorithms, they always do.
Typically developer consoles have a unique serial number that is outside the normal range of serial numbers so that their online activity can be easily tracked and monitored and they’re never given preferential treatment in online stores. If they can’t even make a proper developer console they need to go back to square one and start over.

nickname however did pick up portal 2 and it is pretty jawsome. I have only played it a little bit as time permits but im up to chapter 6. only about halfway through but already this game was totally worth the $30.

haha, just looked up to see the PM msg. I like the old site which gave you a popup when you got PM’s. Oh well. I’m going to hold out on portal, I havent even turned on my PS3 in over a month. (other than streaming pandora). Dirt3 comes out this month and i’ll be getting that. Portal should have came out in the winter when the weather is all cold and *edited*. lol

btw Portal 2 for PS3 is on sale for $35 on amazon today with free shipping. No excuse for dice not to get it! It includes steam code for pc/mac version. I pm’d him on facebook this time..
