i set my arm on fire. it doesn’t hurt. you gotta spray a *edited*load of axe on your arm and then you light it. after a few seconds you gotta stick it in water though. pouring water over it doesn’t always work unless its a continuous stream

There is a big difference between being on fire and burning yourself. I was never actually on fire. I just happened to brush up against a 400 degree piece of metal.

I’m playing a Nord with Deadric Armor, Sword and Bow. Oblivion > WoW.

So, I don’t know if anyone else has bought or attempted to play this thing. But if you did, and if you were on campus, I imagine you were disappointed. I sure am.

It turns out that (this is paraphrasing information from smarter, more tech-savvy people than myself), Tabula Rasa is classified by packet shapers (which WCU uses to prevent bit torrent use) as a p2p type of packet situation. Which means you will find yourself with a ping rounding out around 10,000.

Of course, most other games (WoW, CS:S and others) are identified as QoS packets and slip right through the packet shaper. Which, needless to say, is why you can play them.

So that’s the bad news. And it is bad, the game could be interesting and it’s getting pretty good reviews. Something new in a land of right-clicking to attack every ten seconds. And a vacation from fantasy land. If only.

The good news, however, is a little double-edged. First, this situation is easily fixed. The priority that the packets from Tabula Rasa receive can easily be upgraded by someone that knows how (not me, though others with this problem have effected this change).

Tabula Rasa uses the following ports:

    80, 2106, 7777, 7790, 8001, 8101-8104

And the following IP addresses (including the launcher):

    216.107.243.* 206.127.153.* 216.107.254.* 216.107.244.*

    * stands for a wildcard, anything from 1-999. Or so.

So anyway, the bad side of the good news is that calling IT services and mentioning anything along these lines is akin the calling China and explaining to them (in English) that you have a list of ways to improve upon their economic structure. Which is to say, not easy.

My question to you helpful folks is this: does anyone actually know someone in IT that can help in this process? Can any of you explain the situation better than I can, in technical terms, to someone that won’t think you’re having trouble “getting online with your psp?”? Recommendations (aside from taking the game back to Wal-Mart or something)? Anything to say whatsoever?

Tell your savvy friends that IP addresses go from 1-255…not 1-999. L2 binary.

Oblivion > WoW. If Oblivion were MMO, Oblivion would be > ALL.

BUMP, there will be no alcohol at this cookout. I’m not getting busted for being around under aged drinking. If you want to drink, you can do it when you get home.

We just hit 40 members. We are still 20 short of my goal. Maybe Oh Malley can get some console people to join up. Looks like we’ve got a few of them already.

yeah just so everyone knows this will be next semester… i’ll only have 2 classes so i’ll actually be able do shat

i was thinking late jan early feb,, pending next semeser lan date,, kinda wont to do it inbetween 2008.1 and 2008.2 events

i would think i need about 10-15 people min and no more than 30max, so let me know if this is something you would attend

I would go, but there is no way I would bring my computer around you guys drinking. I’d just go to hang out and chill. I don’t mind a 21+ version of the cookouts however. But since they are successful, I plan to keep holding the cookouts as well. Are you coming to the cookout Dice? I don’t remember seeing you registered in the thread.

We are up to 30 something on campus students and I can make everyone at the LAN join that isn’t already in it. We are only required to have 10 members. I’m going to get like 100 and tell them to shove it up their…nevermind.

I’m usually like 100% pro Steel Series. In fact, I’m about to buy a USB headset from them at some point in the near future. I don’t understand this keyboard though. Sure the response times etc are awesome but I just can’t deal with some of the design standpoints. For instance, I can’t stand the larger return key and the smaller backspace key. I’m sure it’s an awesome keyboard for gaming, but it’s not really all there for every day use. Just my opinion. I wish the Microsoft Curve would evolve into a gaming keyboard. They could even work with Steel Series to make it happen.

That is exactly my point… Your obviously taking what I am saying wrong. Do I need to repeat myself or can you gather from that my point? SupCom is one of the very few games that offer multi-CPU support so it actually makes a difference in your game. I don’t think it is worth the extra money for a good quad-core right now, but I might be wrong, I was just showing that dual-core had and right now at present beat quad-cores for gaming. Did you miss the part where I said I look forward to quad-cores being used more?

Not to be a flamer or anything but most games have patched in multi-threading support. Even old ones like Doom 3 are now multi-threading.
