Come to this Saturdays Mini-LAN (which I will be running this week, I had some complications last Saturday) and I would bet you would find a partner.
Just as a little heads up, I turned in the list of people allowed in the Gming Club Office so if any of my original 4 that volunteered to help run the office is allowed in there now, just give them you name at the desk and they will let you in. Also, If any of you would like to be added to the list, send me a PM and Ill add you.
Heero Shin as far as the list of CLs looks, it seems right. And as far as Lemm and Ex go, Im going to leave it up to you. Just do what you think will work best.
The reason that we dont ban Metaknight is because, well no one really uses him. And honestly, the few people that do dont play him seriously so their is no harm.
Im going to book the Grand Room for our first LAN on October 31st and the second one for December 12th

Thats pretty much what I was hinting at in terms of map change in my previous post. I think this would be a great idea.
And the webmaster position was voted on and no one decided to run against Adam.
And Kuros I think what Nickname said is pretty much what I was aiming for. And hey, I think a Warcraft server (if we could have one) would be a great idea. I might not know a whole lot about PC games but I know for a fact that is VERY popular.
Ok, I see where you guys are coming from. I guess we could keep things the way they are now and just roll with it. As long we dont have a massive drop off of people on the servers I’ll just leave it be.

I don’t want to argue all night about this, but just answer this question for me. If we were to turn off the CS and CSS servers, since “most of the people at our meeting were literally SCREAMING to get rid of all the CS stuff altogether because they believe it has played its course and is pretty much dead”, what would we use our server for? What can we offer that would be more beneficial for the students at WCU?
Yes it does make sense to take advice from them because it shouldnt be that way. When just about everyone in attendance at the meeting believes that it is dying out and should go away, that is a problem. The main reason it is a problem is because it does not show very well how the servers are doing on campus. And this should not be a problem because it is the WCU GAMING CLUB. You can get mad at me until you turn red in the face but its pretty insulting when you have to talk about the CS servers when no one in attendance cares but the PC VP. I think this just says that we need a little more variety on the severs in general.
And Nickname I know we have people that play on the servers, i dont want to take them down. Thats not my intention and never was. I know we have people that play on the servers all the time and I would not let them be shutdown EVER because of this fact. This whole argument just goes back to me wanting to let the admins change the maps when necessary. The intention of my “arguments” was to try to populate the servers further by giving the players on the server what they want by letting them (the admins) change maps if need be. Perhaps we could get the admin to let people vote in if he/she can change the map, and if the vote is yes then and only then let him do it? I think that this would help and if they dont follow these rules then they could just have that power removed.
And as far as on campus support of the servers and CS, it is dying. These are the WCU servers and we need to populate them with more WCU students that are currently on campus. I just think that its funny that this problem has been ignored until recently and I am expected to just turn my back to these students and focus on pleasing people I never see and have never even attended the school. I mean on come on. its insulting as hell when people get up and walk out as soon as you start talking about Counterstrike and their servers.
Now Im not just saying that we should tell everyone who doesnt go to this school or ever has to get off the servers, but come on.
And Mitch about the new server, im thinking that we could possibly hold a poll/nomination sort of thing and see what people would like to have if we could add more games if we get a new server? How does that sound?

I’d like to point out that since Steam has it’s own messenger service, CS:S players usually don’t use Xfire and it’s still #4 on the list. I understand that the players on campus matter more, but this might make a difference.
And I am happy that CS is doing great right now and I hope it stays that way. And honestly, I would like to help bolster those numbers even more. But the big picture Im trying to show is that if we make a change to a few things, we may even be able to up those number even more. If we could revive the PC side of the club on campus, that would be great and we would all be happy. And I would like to try a few new things and a few old things so if you guys could just bear with me and give this a go that would be nice.
Oh and did I mention that these fliers have been hung back up and have been up for at least a week now? I dont know guys, does this seem like advertising to you or is there another word for it? lol.
Im not taking the advise from people on campus that CS is “dead” or dying out, Im hearing it from the PC gamers overall. If you would have been at the meeting last night, you would have heard it to. But since the only people that dont go to this school seem to be the only one’s *edited*ing about this, say whatever you want, because Im not catering to the world here, Im catering to the people that go to this school and the people that use these servers. I am taking what they say and am working with it, so if you want to *edited* at me, pull up yahoo and get ready to send about 40 emails to the people that attended the meeting last night because I am just pretty much repeating what they were screaming for (minus the fact that I realize that we do need PC games because, well, its gaming, and this is a gaming club and I know we have a PC fan base). So before you assume *edited*, ask other people on campus how they feel about CS.
And dont even get me started on Advertising. We have posted on the fliers that we hung up last semester that we have quality servers. But still, its not as populated as you guys claim it should be. If you dont believe me, Ill send ANY of you a copy of the fliers that we hung up that said this.
Mitch I dont understand why you think this is such a terrible idea. Just because someone can abuse something does not mean they will. Every person is not just looking after their wants and needs, and I CLEARLY told everyone at the meeting that if I see any sort of bias or got complaints about them they are going to be booted out of their position. I know you guys have had some bad experiences with this sort of thing in the past, but just because it failed in the past doesnt mean it will fail now (maybe it was the admins you guys elected making the *edited* poor decisions, I dont know). Our servers are getting hit pretty hard because of Map decisions, and the people that play on these servers (the admins) with these people that join them should know what is popular and change them accordingly. If something goes wrong, then oh *edited*ing well, its not going to destroy the club. You guys need to relax, if something goes wrong, we can fix it. And to be honest, if I wouldnt have found someone to run for PC VP, we would be in an even deeper whole than we are now with the PC side of the club. So just chill, I have faith in our admins and believe they will do the right thing. And if not, off with their heads.

And my personal belief is that this is true BUT I believe for the sake of our die hard CS fans, we need to try to keep it running. Change is on the horizon for the PC side Mitch, and honestly, you probably wont like it. But just because you dont like it does not mean that the newer generation of PC gamers, which is now the majority of PC gamers, can not demand new things and changes within the club. And like it or not, I am going to appease to them over the people who have left because that is what I am suppose to do. Im not saying that I want to kill off CS and all the hard work you guys have put into the club, but times have changed, and things are different now. And until you guys face these facts, your gonna be *edited*ed at me and maybe even our new CLs. But like I have said many times over, things have changed and the newer generation of gamers are losing interest in what people like you and Adam Faulkner use to play on the PC because they demand new things. And I aim to see if we can satisfy them and the our older generation of PC gamers. But I mainly want to appease to our bigger audience, the newer generation because they are the future of the club. Just because things may change does not mean the club will end, it just means we are making strides to improve things and try to reach out to the future of our club, the newer generation of gamers.
Dont take this personally, this is just my view on things.

This was reconciled with the creation of the 2 Vice-Presidents.Im still going to handle all money issues, the “Treasurer” is just going to be one of the people to watch the door at our LANs this sesmester. So technically, Shawna will only be the a “Treasurer” of sorts at the LAN, but not the actual “treasurer” if you understand what Im trying to say.
Oh and for allof our new CLs and two VPs, I messaged Adam to about getting your permissions right for the website. If he doesnt get to it tonight, I try to do it.
I was not told that you wanted to run for CSS CL and you did not post on the forums that you wanted to run for it (this thread was up for about a week and I wrote everyones name down that wanted to run for stuff). If Lemm doesnt want the position, you can have it Ex, otherwise you can’t, sorry.
Because Ive received complaints from several people that some of the CS servers are losing people because of the map selection. If we give them the power to change it for the better, it might bolster our population on the servers. And you guys thought I didnt care about the PC side

Mitch, I personally will not have a phone with me tomorrow but I we will have a laptop there, so if you could get on IRC, that would work. If not, if I can find someone with a phone willing to let me use it, I will call you, but otherwise, you should probably get on IRC if you want to get in on the meeting.
