actually camron i had A ACCOUNT BANED DUE TO A VAC BAN AND ITS WAS USE-ABLE AFTER A YEAR AND IT IS STILL BEING USED TILL THIS DAY SO I DONT KNOW WHO TOLD YOU THAt IT WASN’T A YEAR but it was liesIt’s straight from Valve at http://support.steampowered.com/cgi-bin/st…php?p_faqid=370
Important
All VAC bans are permanent – Valve has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating.
I’m not doubting this happened to you, but it must have been before the introduction of VAC2, like I stated in my original post. Otherwise, you are Jesus, my friend.l

Map voting sucks. The server is popular as is…why go making drastic changes? Weekly minor rotation changes are a lot more feasible than some crazy plugin that will take a month to write. The server was popular when the drastic change was made to go to the map rotation over map voting. Why? Because at the time, most people thought it would be a better solution. Now we’ve had time with the map rotation system and some people find it a good idea to re-evaluate it. The popularity of the server wasn’t part of the debate the 1st time, and it shouldn’t be part of the debate now. It’s not about popularity and how many random people are on at a given time, it’s about player satisfaction (and by that I mean the regulars who play most often).

What’s the difference between a VAC ban and being banned by a server admin?
VAC bans are permanent and cannot be reversed. They only affect secured servers and so you can continue playing on “unsecured” servers.
I’m really sorry, I won’t do it again, please can I be unbanned?
No – please re-read the other information provided on VAC bans
But it wasnt my fault, my little bro must have done it
There are NO excuses – your account is your responsibility!

IIRC, since the introduction of VAC2 in 2004, VAC bans have been permanent rather than lasting 1 year.

Participanthow did you get a free account? Also, if CS 1.6 is all you play (and it should be), then it’s only $9.99 these days.
cameron crazie
Participantummmm you did not get a message from steam via friends list. that was a fake. hopefully, you did not tell them any of your account information (i.e. your password). If you gave out your password to this person pretending to be from steam over friends, then your account has been compromised.
If this is the case, the password has since been changed and so has the associated e-mail address. That would be why you can’t log into your account or receive the verification code. The perpetrator could have used it to hack on some server.
Don’t wanna sound too harsh, but that sounds like what happened based on your symptoms and “getting a message from steam via friends list saying something really odd about my account.” Try to contact valve to sort this out, but I wouldn’t be hopeful.
Just so you know, nobody from steam will ever contact you via in-game messaging to discuss your account. They have that little warning about it in the message window to explain that and prevent scams like the one you may have fallen victim to.
If you are absolutely sure you did not give out the password to anyone else (especially the guy pretending to be from steam), then I don’t know what’s going on.

ParticipantI picked up my Logitech Premium USB Headset 350 (same one you guys are talking about) at Buy.com for $35.50 – $12.50 rebate – $10 bonus for signing up for google checkout = $13.00 final cost. No tax and free shipping. Yes, I am very cheap. My school costs 45k/year, so I have to save money in other ways.

I will require a plugin that exempts maps that have been played recently. Maps should have to wait a total of rounds equal to half the total maps in rotation (like in Source). This minimizes D2,Office,Aztec all day.We had something like that as well before, apparently it wasn’t harsh enough for some people. IMO ~ 7-8 or so maps between repeats should be plenty.
I think one of the problems of the old voting system was that it had 5 choices every time. If we cut down the number of choices to 3 or so, it would really let the less popular maps have a fighting chance.
With 5 up for a vote, of course the most popular, often-played map will win. But with a smaller choice set, we could see some more interesting voting matchups that could make the people who hate the standard maps a bit happier, and also make it easier for d2/aztec to not come up for voting again for several rounds.

Participant15 minutes for chateua, 5 minutes for militia (that’s how long it takes for the 1st kids to buy awp’s and ruin the map for CT’s). No more than 1 minute for survivor, tops, biggest POS we have on the server.

Why? So the server can be WCU Gaming 24/7 Dust, Dust_2, Aztec again?Dankst@, isnt there also a custom maps server for about all the maps you just posted?
No disrespect meant here, but were you around during the time we’re talking about? (~9 months ago). Just noticed you’ve only been here on forums for a month, so I was wondering how long you’ve been playing on the server. I haven’t been around long by many people’s standards (started playing on the server in Fall of 2005), but I don’t remember seeing you around, unless you’re the same guy I vaguely remember as [NEAS] 10 or something like that.
If you were actually playing during the voting era, I don’t know why you would say the server would be 24/7 Dust, Dust_2, and Aztec. Back then, we played office, italy, sk, dust, dust2, nuke, cbble, assault_upc, inferno, militia, and occasionally snow when there weren’t many people on. What did we not play? Well, we didn’t play *edited*ty, server-clearing maps like survivor, for one.
And to answer the “why bring back voting?” question, well of course it’s because *I* personally had more fun on the server back then and it was better populated at all times of the day. Of course, it’s just my opinion and I’m certainly not in any position of authority, but I’m going to express it nonetheless.
