It takes just as long to spell the word ‘thanks’ correctly. The word “answer” has the letter ‘n’ in it, although that will be considered a misdemeanor by the Police compared to the atrocities embodied in the misspelling “thanxx.”

TGP, why are you posting drunk so much lately? “compared to the atrocities embodied in the misspelling ‘thanxx'”? If you’re going to go with that structure, you need an “of” between “misspelling” and “thanxx”. Alternatively, you could just remove “the”. In any case, I don’t know how you’re qualified to correct other people’s grammar when your own is rather poor …. pwned.

None of the other backwards compatible consoles have any extra latency because they are running a previous generation game so I don’t imagine the Xbox would either although that would be an interesting thing to look up.

I have forwarded the Xbox Live! ports to AJ so they should be cleared through the filter within the next couple business days.

one caveat though that distinguishes this generation of backwards compatible consoles from those like the ps2 is that today’s backwards compatibility is accomplished by software (i.e. emulation) while earlier consoles used a hardware-based approach.

Somebody correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the first gen of consoles to achieve backwards compatibility by software emulation rather than building it into the hardware platform. That’s why it’s not an apples to apples comparison to say that old backwards compatible consoles didn’t experience the lag problem so these ones shouldn’t either.

I think thegrammarpolice should lose his law enforcement license. Just because you enforce the law doesn’t mean you get to break it too.

100 hours a week? that means you spent :

59% of your time playing CS

    3 % eating

Are you trying to say you have something better to do with the 14 hours a day you were playing CS?

wow calculations from briefs, impressive. although i’m too lazy to actually check if they’re correct.

loot, your sig is a bit excessive IMHO. also, i agree that the random maps (chateau, piranesi, and the like) are all bunched up one right after the other and that kinda sucks. if it changes to one of those maps I’d rather leave and come back in an hour and a half when the regular maps are back so it will be more fun.

I agree with the previous 3 posters, I’d like to see the return of map voting. For me, the server was more enjoyable when we had map voting on and consistently played the same 6-7 maps everyone knows.

The problem with maps like piranesi and chateau is that they remove the team element from the game, as many players are unfamiliar with the map. Bomb is planted, and everyone’s still running around like chickens with their heads cut off because they don’t know where the sites are. Frequently, the bomb explodes uncontested with 3-4 CT’s still running around the map trying to find the site.

Also, maps like fy_snow are just not fun with 30 people. You end up getting randomly ambushed from all sides because there’s just too many people and not enough space.

I understand people are tired of playing the same maps, but for me it’s more enjoyable when there’s some kind of team element and most people know where things are on the map. It seems like the server is even more about just randomly killing people as opposed to completing objectives due to these unfamiliar maps being introduced.

Basically it’s called “Outdated game that Dev’s don’t even support.” No that’s not a Source player knocking 1.6. That’s just facts. The older game is starting to die, and amxmodx is not helping much.

blasphemy!! 1.6 forever!!! Besides, my POS inspiron 600m w/ its radeon mobility 9000 does not make source an enjoyable experience, even if it weren’t for the fact that the aiming system sucks in source, the people run really weird and look like idiots, and responsiveness is just sluggish all around (even on powerful machines).

Dell actually has relatively good customer service. Or so I’ve been told.

I have a hard time believing that these days. I had the Premier Dell Support Warranty with the CompleteCare Package (basically the highest possible level of warranty protection and service you can buy for your machine, costs about $400). Everyone I was dealing with during my experience was at the *highest level* of Dell customer service possible, my issue eventually got referred up to the top customer service team at Dell which is composed of 12 people. One guy was tracking my problem the whole time, yet every step of the process was plagued with delays, miscommunications, and flat-out lies about delivery times and what was the source of the hold-up.

Dell used to be great for customer service a few years back when I bought my machine, but since they moved most of their call centers over to India it’s gone to hell in my opinion. Perhaps the lower level tech support is better, but I don’t see why it would be. Supposedly the guys I was dealing with were the best there was and had years of experience. It sure didn’t show, though.

Also make sure the joystick isn’t completely loose on the 64 controllers, that’s HUGE.

yeah that’s mainly what i was referring to in my comment, wish there was some place to buy fresh N64 controllers, cuz you can’t even say it’s any kind of measure of skill when one person gets stuck w/ the controller that has a crappy stick.

the real question is why is VAC Administrator #4 allowed to be his name. Retards get fooled by this all the time, anything involving CS, Valve, Steam, VAC, etc. should not be permitted in names.

alright, consider my suggestion irrelevant then LOL. Good to hear that it’s going to be improved. I also think it says something good about the server that we do get so many requests to repeal bans, because people enjoy playing on the server and don’t want the experience taken away.
