So, I am picking this game up today for PC and am looking for 2 others to round out my group (anyone else here think 3 is a really awkward number?). I know several have it or are thinking of getting it. Anyway, let me know so we can plan something. In terms of play time I have to work around a teaching/coaching schedule, so that typically means some days I am really busy and other days not so much.

I like the idea of a thowback night. Only problem is it seems like just yesterday we were playing those maps. Maybe in a month or two I will be ready to revisit them.
I still think you need to include lines from the “I’m the juggernaut *edited*!” parody. This is a very necessary improvement. Link below if you don’t know what I am talking about.

What did you have in mind for the admin tier system? I have given a system like this some thought and would be curious to know what you had planned. Any details if you can give them would be appreciated.

Time Warner does not block ports, it’s either your firewall or your router.You could try posting the pics of your modem/router or sending them to someone that does this sort of thing for a living…
We couldn’t figure out what was blocking the port, but managed to start css through a different port.
Major thanks to Mat0, Ex, Citan, and everyone else who helped me through all this.
Update: We figured out the router and did all the port forwarding things but still no dice. Port checker says the ports are still blocked. I don’t think any firewalls are blocking them. No clue what to do next =(
Edit: I called the ISP this morning to see if they might be blocking the ports, but they said they do not block any ports.

For the life of me I can’t tell what router I have. The thing seriously has no brand markings. It’s whatever one Time warner gives you nowadays. Also Ex convinced me to uninstall steam so now i have to dl css again.
I sent a picture of some of the lables on the router to citan for him to tell me what kind it is, but he is being fat right now.

Even so, it was a fun night and props to everyone who helped get it together.
I just hope they keep the mercenaries element. I enjoyed mech 2 merchs and mech 4 merchs. The rest of the franchise were only meh imo. And yea, Microsoft ruined it.

I can try, although i have played the game enough to know what I enjoy is level 80 content and NOT leveling characters. Although you are correct in saying playing with friends is the point.
Also, Citan doesn’t have level 80’s he could be playing as far as I know. I think only his brother does.

You can understand the frustration however, when the server is empty on a Friday evening and the CL is nowhere to be found. As for specific solutions, it is hard to say. The biggest complaint i hear is the tired old poor registry argument. I know there was talk at some point about buying a new server (or whatever you call the machine that actually runs this stuff) and thereby reduce the load on the current one, thus increasing registry. That is probably the best long-term solution. In the short term, all that I can really think of is simply asking more regulars and admins to play – something that probably isn’t all that feasible.
That being said, i miss playing with you buddy! Get on some time!

I have actually read literature on the subject and I fall into the y’all camp as well; I don’t know why I messed it up this time. I think perhaps because I used it as a possessive it looked strange to have the apostrophe at the beginning of the word.
That being said, since it is a made up word, any argument about correctness is pretty much moot; still, it is nice to see a fellow country grammar nazi.
Didn’t see de_dust the first time i commented. I vote we get rid of that map from the rotation as well.
