I never even played there all that often… but people were always there when I wanted to play. Now there is nobody. Last time I was in there for 30 mins the only person who joined me was kuros. WHERE DID ALL MY REGS GO?!?
I go there everyday after dinner, around 7pm central. I stay for about ten minutes and then move on.
I havent seen anyone else there is weeks.
me and asatru and raine got it up to 15-20 full a few weeks ago, but *edited* hacker came in and killed the server in minutes

ive been in texas and dont feel like paying to play, ill be on tonight and tomorrow sinc eim home until thursday
im watching the servers as soon as i see someone join im in sorry i haent been around much but that is going to be changing now omg i have got to play in 3 days past forever .

5 and I will be returning to school later this week, so perhaps more play time will occur after that happens. Until then I am packing… (and lurking on the forums).

What we really need is for a core group to get on several days in a row to hopefully get some fresh faces in and really coming back. Populating the server for one night is great and all, but unless people think the server is like that every day, they are unlikely to come back and try to populate it themselves the next day. It’s the whole collective belief phenomenon.
Get a new rotation with popular maps. get rid of dumb *edited* like chateau for now until people really start playing the server again. I had like 8 people on with me and Citan the other day and as soon as chateau came up…BOOM. There goes the server. Until you get more people playing…the server will die everytime a bad map comes up.

Honestly tho…I think people do come in the server and notice that it is 66 tic and leave…You say that WE keep pretending that it makes a difference…but when are YOU guys gonna stop pretending that this is not the reason a lot of people quit playing as much/all together. There is no more GG server so can’t we move it back up to 100 just to see how much of a difference it really does make?

These are desparate times though.. in order to preserve the community and jump start WCU’s online gaming I don’t think this is such a bad idea. The only problem would be if it would interfere with the L4D and TF2 servers. The CSS server wasn’t moved down to 66 Tic just for Gun Game.
I know that the L4D servers had a lot to do with the tic rate change, but I thought the major reason was because it was causing so much interference with the way the GG server was run.
Assuming gungame stays off, we have to trade either the TF2 or L4D server to upgrade CSS back to 100 tick.

Basically, from what I’ve heard, the guys who give the money and approval for a new server have been avoiding MasterP. So Kaz-Ka will go and use his mighty banhammer on them and hopefully get approval with the upcoming Budget finalizations.

Hmm… well I have been away for a while without internet and since the gg server has been down cus it crashes randomly. Never figured out what causes this one but it is pretty manageable if monitored. After I saw this thread I had internet for a week and a half and I played on the CSS server a bit and kept the gg off cus I figured we needed to get more people on css before we play some more gg.
Hopefully we can see something happen soon with the hardware, although if we don’t have the people playing on it it’s hard to justify it other than having a really f’in awesome setup lol.
I not saying we should permanently take down the gg server or l4d or tf2… but as far as i can see the CSS community was a lot stronger when it was 100 tick (and of course before everyone went home for summer). The way the l4d servers are set up they do not allow for much of a community presence other than late night scheduled games.
Anyway that’s my two cents. The meeting is what sept 3? so yeah without an internet connection I doubt I’ll be GG CL this time if we decide to keep it. Hell I might actually try to make a meeting even though it’s a long trip.
