I don’t like the srvr stats idea, it puts to much of a focus towards certain games/systems and I just don’t think it belongs on the home page.
Maybe a link for the constitution? Also, I don’t know but I thought we have a form for lan registration, like an asp form? if so, then a link for that? Maybe a members link that lists all current members and there positions? Maybe a contact us link that brings to a page with the gaming clubs email address, mailing address, maybe higher up exec(s) contact info? Maybe an about us link that has some general information about the club such as our mission statement or how it all started, etc…Maybe a link that says upcoming events, so that you can easily find when our next meeting, lan, cook out, etc…is?
Also, under contact admin link at the bottom right it has some erwin, nc address. It also says at the very bottom of main page maintained by the office of web services. Also on the main page the link for gallery is broken, have it link to the pic gallery?
If we wanted an office we could have one, we just don’t see the need for it at this time. We usually hold 2 lans a semester and we have several meetings and other activities such as cookouts, mini gatherings, community service, etc… We are a club registered with the university.
The links on the left that say “info for:”, why do we have all of that nonsensical stuff there? Is it required?

way back when the club first started we used to use comp labs and actually provided the comps and the games. we would usually use a computer lab with about 30 computers. They were computer labs that the school already had, the gaming club had no influence of how many computer labs or computers.
Now however, it is byoc, bring your own computer, which is much much better.
You type votekick peanut into chat. Once so many people type that, then you get kicked. There is no menu, notification, or anything like that.
The steam id you gave in the first post in not a valid steam id. Also, even though he changed his player name he still keeps the same steam id.
To retrieve the steam id:
1. type status in console
2. Find the players name and obtain the number preceding STEAM_
I voted no on all 3. When you allow this, it gets abused. You’re just opening the flood gates. There is always someone in IRC able to hop in and assist if people would take the initiative.
Maybe some auto messages in the server letting players know about the IRC channel.
As stated previously, the main concern here is hassling a player to answer a question. You blew the situation out of proportion. Big deal he had a ping that showed 5. Did anyone in the server complain about him skipping around or not being able to hit him? No. I have played with asdine recently, I would say in the past week and a few times before that, and he does not lag or skip all over the place. He just has a good connection to the server as stated previously.
All the cursing is sort of old/childish and not funny at all. I don’t know why they mention Sony either, Sony has very good quality products. They should have picked another company like panasonic or viewsonic or one that actually does suck.
This is one of the most important things when it comes to the LAN’s and it’s sad to see that it was handled so poorly. It’s embarrassing when we have to hold one of the gaming clubs biggest events in places like the Cats Den. Can we please get on top of this in the future.
I like the interface and the whole experience of the gallery. I especially like the sorting capabilities that it offers. The one thing that keeps me from switching to this vs. my apple TV to keep my photos is the syncing capability. With my apple TV I can sync directly from my laptop multiple pics at once wirelessly and with the PS I cannot and its extremely annoying having to use a flash drive every time you want to update the gallery.

today I got the 3 beeps of death. Unfortunately, I’m out of the warranty so now I have to send it off to sony for $160. Hopefully I’ll be back up and running by the end of next week.
the clan1_mill and clan2_fire are different and suck badly compared to the cpl ones, yes they look somewhat the same but they are diff. Honestly, the cpl maps for a pub is a bad idea and never worked in the past.
Usually if a player has the incorrect version of a map then they wont even be able to join the server while that map is playing..they wont even connect and will get an error stating something to the effect of “your map version is different from the servers”.
What I have said in my previous post is correct however I am not sure this is what causes it 100% of the time. I can give you the command and you can go into the server and see for yourself. However, not very many know about it and therefore I don’t think this is the root cause. The issue w/ a 32 man server crashing on scoutzknivez has been in existence since 1.6 began and I don’t think anyone has ever solved it. No error logs ever get created; even if the server is running in debug mode…no error log ever gets created for this type of crash.
I think its the way the server has to reset the hud on each player on each round to ensure that each player has only a knife and a scout and strip the pistol. There is actually a way a player can cause the hud to reset on them simultaneously which will in turn crash the server. I remember placing a plugin on the server to block the command but I think its gone and I’m not sure if it worked 100% anyway.
It’s because of the 32 man server…this happens on any 32 man server, just like the spec glitch. The only way to fix it is to reduce the number of slots on the server. Get over it.
