seems like faulkner sent me an email not too long ago for a company that provides those types of things and if I’m not mistaken it was free
That blog post was actually made in response to a developer who made an idling program which allowed you to gain random drop items without actually having to be physically in a server. It “masked” you as if you were actually playing and you could gain items. So everyone that was using it had all of their items removed and also they came out with that new halo hat. IMO, it’s not really cheating; no different than the people who sit in idle servers to get the items. Only benefit is you don’t use as much resources running the program vs. being in a server.
btw, if you cloak as a spy and have the halo then it can still be seen.

A perfect example. An update was just released early yesterday and the server still hasn’t been updated. Therefore, no one has been able to play on the server until its updated…as stated previously this is the main reason we lost our population. Something needs to be done to allow the CL/execs to update the server manually at will.
We had that setup before and it wasn’t successful (only diff was we had a rotation instead of mapvoting). Once we moved to 24/7 pipeline it was booming but then after we failed to update our server soon after the next update was released and then the gaming.wcu.edu forward went down, we lost everyone.

I actually prefer the level 1 flamethrower because of the airblast. You can blow sticky bombs out of the way, you can put out flaming teammates, and you can push back enemies with ubers.
It’s nice. Unlike the rifle, It takes a while to get used to cause its very difficult to get pinpoint precision (there is no dot) and you can’t really snipe from far far back since it doesn’t scope.

I did. I had been mooching off of Adambomb’s account which sometimes causes a headache when we both tried to play. It was half off so I bought it.

Final note on this.
After a couple days after the re-install the same exact issue started again…I said WTF. I remembered that I just recently changed some video card settings through the nvidia control panel and messing with resolutions as well. I always set up my custom video card image settings. So I went ahead and changed it back to default which is “let the 3d application decide” and set ingame resolution to 800/600. Issue solved.
So for those that come across this problem, it’s your video card settings!
Its typical for tf2 servers on an occasion to loose connection with steam which disables player loadouts. A restart should re-establish the connection unless steam is down.

The 5am was as Nickname said and the 2:30 was the server winding down. There was no root cause.The server was full and the map changed. I disconnected manually just momentarily and when I returned in time for the new map then the server only had like 2 peeps in it and no one in spec. Then a second later a few joined and in chat were like “did everyone get kicked?” and things like that. It seems it was more than just winding down.
I am pretty sure its the stats system b/c it says something about your current position. I don’t know but since the server is 24/7 pipeline I think that is what has drawn them in…even right now the server is 24/24….just wow@!
I knew they were given randomly. Its just unfair that I have played so much and have yet to unlock any of the new items. I know its not based off of achievements anymore, I was just giving an example of how long I had played. You did mention something about picking it up off the ground…so if a sniper drops his huntsman on the ground then I can pick it up and now its unlocked for me? I just think its unfair that I couldn’t enjoy/try/tout any of the new items.
I *edited*ing hate this. They changed how you unlock items now, its just done randomly. So I started from scratch tonight with no achievements from any class and have been playing for 6hrs. I have 13 sniper and 11 spy and a few other random class achievements and I have yet to get one item unlocked, not 1. Whereas I have seen other peeps who have way less achievements completed than me and they already have at least 2 items unlocked. This is garbage and unfair.
Also, there are others that are unlocking items that they have already unlocked…gg valve.
yes the server has been busy tonight…Although, need to look at why it dropped a bunch of peeps at around 2:30am and also I think server crashed around 5am. And i hate it when it says player w/e has joined from united states.
