I would like to contribute to the settings debate, but I really haven’t played TF2 enough to make a call. I do know one thing though, FF needs to be off like mentioned above. The game gets retarded with it on, just think about soldiers doing rocket jumps around teammates for example. Not to mention the spies would own everyone, especially snipers. Is the respawn timer something you set? I thought it was based on team balancing?
someone should add some captions to those pictures so we can tie names with faces (those of us that didn’t go)
I absolutely love this game. It’s like playing an R-Rated Pixar movie. I knew I would be impressed with the graphics, but I didn’t know to what extent. I think TF2 looks “cooler” than BioShock to me, there is just something about how it looks that makes people say wow. The gore along with the cartooney feel makes for a very FUN game. Teamwork is essential because of how the classes are designed; by yourself you will get owned if the other team is working together.
My favorite class right now is Scout, just because of the shottie and the double jump
Where are you guys playing at? I’ve seen NoDice, Krispies and Billy (Rentons Big Bro)I also like the menus and GUI of the game along with the sound. The sound is some of the funniest I’ve heard in any game prior, the old woman counting down the rounds like the world is going to end makes me laugh. Not to mention this game has the best animation in terms of facial and body movement that I’ve ever seen. I can not stop playing this game when I am home.

The P90 makes me laugh, you can prefire before coming into a room and still have enough ammo to take out 5 people. I love the gun, but I still would take the shottie over it. Maybe I’ll have time to play some CS:S this weekend! TF2 makes that hard though

The auto is less powerful, less accurate at range and has a smaller overall spray. The auto is only useful in close quarters vs. TMP/Mac10 in my opinion, however I refuse to use it at all.

All of the games listed above are of much different play style and use different code. More than likely the reason why you hate the awp is that you’re used to a play-style that doesn’t have the sniper sitting around waiting in certain areas but has it move up with each opposing force (since most of the games you listed are more CTF and KoTH styles) and pick off anyone that tries to take on your frontal assault. I am not going to say “the awp is fun” because a person can get much enjoyment and fun with any gun. You don’t find the awp fun for your reasons and I don’t find the shotgun fun because I find the gun way too easy to kill people with and it causes a player to change the way they play to adjust to the “easier” style, in my opinion.Also, I’ve played my share of FPS and have used a sniper in plenty of them and in plenty of the situations. Comparing the AWP to a Kar or Springfield is absurd as DoD, DoD:S, and other WWII shooters enable the user to be in prone and account for simulated breathing, hence forcing a player to crouch or be in prone to get a steady shot off.
Actually I am very used to camping out locations in WW2 based shooters. The reason I don’t like the AWP is because I can shoot you in the stomach or the head and it’s still going to kill you. (unless you shoot someone in the foot). Any moron can achieve these hit positions. I prefer to play sniper/rifle play in DOD:S because it is less of an arcade style of play. There aren’t 6 people on the team using the kar98 in one house camping 4 hostages on DOD:S. However it doesn’t really matter, I’ll figure out new things to complain about in TF2
