ParticipantLet me rephrase that: current licensing rules prevent Nintendo from putting any of the Perfect Dark characters in any new game. They can do whatever they want to the one they are in but cannot reuse them without permission. XBOX users are in the same boat with Goldeneye on their version of the Virtual Console. Not even the game creator can re-release the original Goldeneye game, even in a different format, without Nintendo’s permission, which they will never get after betraying them like they did.
Licensing rules suck for the users but they are put there for this very reason.

I assume we’ll be gathering everyone together like last time at the beginning of the tourney. When we do we can go over scoring and advancement, how the map types are played, and anything else of import.Every time we’ve done that it made things go much smoother.

ParticipantI like the bomb map. It forces people to be creative and sneaky about completing the objective instead of just swarming a flag.
Scoring should continue to be additive between objectives and kills.

is there anything to do to speed up your download rate at home? I’m on insight broadband here in kentucky and i get like 25 kbps when i download… any programs i can run?None that will help your connection. Most of the download accelerator programs out there are designed to bypass server side restrictions on download speed.

ParticipantI think most of you missed Kuros’ original point. He meant to SELL the raffle tickets instead of giving them away for free at the door. Every time we’ve sold tickets for the raffle, even if the raffle was for a single item, it has been very successful.

ParticipantKuros said:
Hows about we use the door prize tickets as raffle tickets? Instead of giving them out we can just let people buy one for a buck.Last time this was done people bought strings of tickets.

there are exploits whether ur ping is 5 or 200 or 100. so that makes no difference. all i can say is keep close tabs on ur rates. you can easily adjust ur rates very easily to show lower ping and keep decent gameplay.Be careful though. The more knowledgable admins know how to manually check your rates and may kick/temp ban for obviously exploiting them.

I know how to skip half the track on wario stadium. I wasn’t however, aware of the rainbow road one.Rainbow Road is MUCH easier to skip than Wario Stadium but the penalty for screwing up is much more severe. As in you fall for 20-40 seconds then get returned to the point you jumped from.

I heard there is a way to skip about half the track on the Rainbow Road by jumping over the siderails. Is this true or am I just going senile? To the best of my knowledge this is true. Don’t have a 64 on campus to confirm though. If you miss the jump though it’s pretty much a guaranteed loss of the race.

Also, there is a bit of lag time before you can use two consecutive items when you can hit him even if he has two stars. This I’ve learned and have gotten quite good at sneaking green shells in.

I have to disagree on this. The better battler will always win 90% of the time.I know someone in Central that can get (no joke I counted on multiple occassions) 7-12 stars in a row. No cheating devices were used and it was someone else’s cartridge. When he doesn’t have a star he sucks. Sure you can wait him out but you can’t dodge forever.

ParticipantTo my understanding, the alpha ROM has been available since shortly after the cancellation of the game in 1995, 2 years before the N64 version was released. The patched version is much newer and I’ve only had a copy of it since 2004 but I know it was available for several years before that, probably around 1999-2000.

ParticipantSorry to derail but I have to inform the peoples of WCUG of their error.
There was a lot of bashing in the first part of this thread by people who themselves don’t know where Star Wolf originated. It sure wasn’t Star Fox 64.
Star Wolf was originally created for Starfox 2 on the SNES. It wasn’t released because some moron at Nintendo felt it wouldn’t do well if released so close to the debute of the N64. Starfox 2 is available in beta-quality ROM format and is a hell of a good game by SNES standards. The non-track based, “all range mode” 3-D combat everyone loved in Starfox 64 was used extensively in Starfox 2, in fact there are only a handful of places in the game that put you on a track.
Starfox 2 was also the original debute of “The Great Fox” and it’s use as the team’s carrier. Unlike in Starfox64, the carrier actually serves a purpose in Starfox 2 and controlling it is part of the gameplay.

wispy! wtf internet do you have that your up is the same as your down! buy a huge harddrive and do some hosting man….holy cow, free money right thereMost schools block hosting ports and protocols. For example, WCU prevents students from hosting high-bandwidth programs out of their dorm rooms by blocking HTTP, FTP, and various other generic server protocols.

ParticipantThis has been around for few years. Rather expensive last time I checked.
