55Mbit in both directions definately beats Chris’ speed. You have a touch slower download and many times faster upload, it’s a simple tradeoff.
Btw, for all you at WCU, you’re speed is faster than that website tells you. Last year they had a speed test site in Raleigh, which is also where our pipes come from, and the speed test results were twice as fast from there as they were from Atlanta.

I’d be nice to have a battle tournament but the winner of battle is usually less determined by skill and moreso relies on the luck of the items you get early in the round.
My understanding is that we were attending the meetings faithfully until we had our run-in with their “finance committee”, or lack thereof.
Can’t really understand if NoDice is asking a question or commenting (your online English sucks Dice) but I think he’s trying to say that according to the club constitution it is the vice president’s job to attend these meetings.
That’s a good game but their latest update unbalanced the weapons to where it feels more like Battlefield.

)Was thinking the same thing. We’ve had to do this on TAG’s servers before with people like this. Also, you can call their ISP and talk to a supervisor and throw the word “lawsuit” around, see how fast they get their internet access removed at the source. TAG has found this to be the absolute best way to remove the persistant ones that get around temporary subnet bans.

If you bring Goldeneye I’m bringing my Gameshark. The full Facility is a GREAT map and gives much more space to play in than the original half-facility mulitplayer map.

Glock on burst is extremely deadly at close range. If used correctly you can easily get triple headshots.

My school doesn’t use windows livemail, but I had the same problem. I just set mine up to auto-forward everything to my gmail account
MS hosted Live accounts aren’t forwardable unless you pay a monthly fee for the premium service.

You can go to Google and do a search for “Windows Live Mail client” and download the Outlook Expressish client that will get mail from catamount.wcu.edu. Just set it up as an http server for incoming outgoing. It’s really simple.Outlook, Outlook Express, and Entourage will all hit it with no problems. PM me for the ports if you’re interested. I would recommend sticking with a MS made client so your mail is easily transfered between computers.
Both videos are filmed using player-made levels. First one has a nice music touch, Dice’s is just a fake made to look real.

I hit the campus mail with Outlook and I think a few other RCCs have been able to forward it. Ask about it when you bring your lappy by the CRIB.

If you’re having FPS issues in a game, turning Vsync off will help. If you have the ability to get over 60FPS anyway then it doesn’t really matter.
If you’re getting 60 FPS in a game, don’t worry about it. The human eye can’t tell the difference between 60 and 300.
ITS blocked IRC ports last year in an attempt to stop viruses from spreading across the virtual lans between dorms. The blocks didn’t even slow that specific virus down but they continued the block anyway.
They aren’t going to open port 8080 because that would let people host websites from dorms. Port 7000 is the only option unless they are willing to unrestrict traffic to Gamesurge.
We may want to look at an off campus proxy or see if ITS can configure a port forwarding service for IRC use. Perhaps forward something crazy like port 32438 to outbound 6668.

Urban got banned from the forums. And as Kuros said, there are behind-the-scenes performance hits (more like massacres) going on that we can’t do anything about until the server is officially 100% ours. The minute that happens the server will be rebooted with a few simple changes and magically the reg issues will disappear from all the in-game servers.

I think maps that are death match maps need to be shortened in length inly because after like 7 minutes or so the map begins to die down. Either people leave due to the map being so long or people do not stick around because it is death match and round go by so fast the map seems to last forever.Perhaps deathmatch style maps have their round and time limits reduced by half.
