ParticipantOh. That’s how they do it? I swore it had something to do with Satan.

ParticipantSo, wait… some bot is coming and hacking all up in our business? It’s happening. Those !@#$ing robots are trying to take us over.
Will Smith, man. I Robot, man. It’s happening.

ParticipantHeh. I love NoDice’s avatar.

ParticipantI wish I had the attention span to get a WoW character to 70. I’m a sad man.

ParticipantPlayground is a fine gun game map, and I can see where they were going with dustanesi. But it was too disorienting hopping in and out of levels every door I went through. lol. I like the edited italy map though…

Ninja Vanish
ParticipantI wish I went to your guys’ college.

ParticipantP90 is a great last ditch gun. When you know it’s gonna come down to you being pinned somewhere. I agree though, it has so many *edited* bullets, lol. But if anything, it’s a great self esteem booster.

ParticipantI feel weird because I haven’t really felt amped for this game. I was completely stoked for Halo 2, loved that when it came out, but I feel like I’ve been so busy with other stuff and other games that Halo 3 kind’ve snuck up on me. I’m sure it’s gonna be great though. It’ll give me a reason to renew my XBOX Live membership if anything….

ParticipantThe only two ways I’ve seen it is either pistols to rifles or vice versa. I like playing it the standard way, but doing it a little differently could be real interesting.

ParticipantGive em’ hell, guys.

ParticipantI need to get me this game!

ParticipantWhaddup Freeman? Good to see you back, man!

ParticipantAnd I started trying out before Brian was initially accepted, and because he asked me to. So, I don’t see whats wrong with that.

ParticipantThis isn’t a personal thing by any means, I just got tired of having to stress out playing on the server when I came to play CS:S to de-stress. Nothing against you at all Kuros, and it isn’t anything you’ve specifically done that is sparking this at all.
And my better side would prompt me not to respond to Flakes because I’m pretty sure he has both the attention span and maturity of a spoon, but there are several things you have done that I can and will point out for you since you are obviously having such a hard time figuring them out.
1) Constantly starting arguments with me out of nowhere. You can call it “talking” all you want, but for some reason whenever I’m in the middle of a game you will immediately begin complaining about the team I am on and the weapon I am using. Maybe if you focused more on not dying you wouldn’t spend so much time in spectate mode whining at me through public admin speak.
2) Always switching me from one team to another at least once per map. I load quick and choose auto-select, yet somehow it is my fault other good players happen to join the same team as I, and you feel the need to call me out on it whenever my team starts winning.
3) Switching me to Terrorist just so I can’t kill you with an m4a1.
4) Acting like an *edited* to not only other admins, but the majority of regulars and non-regulars for no reason.
etc.
I’d cramp up finishing the list so I’ll stop there. The point isn’t that I want or even need special treatment. I don’t care that you took my admin away, I don’t care that you switch me from team to team (it happens to tons of people), and I don’t care that you love to start arguments and don’t know when to stop them. I play enough so that I only have to put up with you during certain hours of the day. You should seriously stop trying to flatter yourself.
Regardless, I can and have gotten over Flakes’ attitude. It is more the fact that several admins love to fight with each other and the players. I play on lots of other clan servers, and its remarkable how a few normal, level-headed admins can regulate a server and not have to deal with arguing, criticism, and empty complaints. I understand that the admins are doing the best they can. Alot of people are college students and have jobs and such and it is hard to balance stuff out. I’m a theatre major and know how that goes.
When I signed up to get admin, it was for one reason and one reason only, and that was to be able to fix issues when no other admins were present. I spent alot of time on this server when there were no admins on and we would have more than 1 obvious hacker on the server, or people spouting racial slurs at other players. It was ridiculous. And I thought that since I was usually on during these hours, I’d be able to help out by being there when things like that happened. Yet I was pushed out by people who were apparently in a bad mood at the time and attacked me for trying to appeal to the overwhelming majority of the players. I know that there were upper division admins on, and thats why I initiated the vote first. I knew that we were part way through a round and I accepted only on the pretenses that it would make it the next map after the round which didn’t happen. And I knew that Kuros mentioned that he would try to cancel the vote, and after a long time he hadn’t, so I went ahead and accepted. I missed lots of the text that apparently was thrown out afterwards because I had the menu AND console up on my screen. I just wanted what was best for the server, which turned into some heinous crime.
I’m sure I’ll be back someday, cause there are a bunch of really hilarious and fun people on this server.
And just for the record, I have no ill will towards any of the admins or players (minus Flakes) and want to thank you guys for helping me get back into this game. Cya around!

ParticipantWe’ve already got some good, solid admins. We need admins that play on different hours is the problem… sometimes we have as many as 4 or 5 on at once. But many times we’ve got nobody. And certain situations (like last night) where we have over half the terrorist team spawn camping could really use somebody to be able to warn them and then bring down the hammer, so to speak.
Ninja Vanish
ParticipantIn all seriousness, I agree with the fact that both guns were put into the game for a reason. But due to their success, they become less of a tactical weapon, and more of a “krutch” as Flakes would put it. We get into certain levels that are more open and have less hallways and rooms, and over half the team will have awps. I understand that snipers are an important part of both offense and defense, but when an entire team has them, the game gets ridiculous. I’m all for having one or two awps per team, and no autosnipers… because like Brian said, they are just like automatic scouts. It doesn’t make you invincible, but it does make you overpowered.
Ninja Vanish
ParticipantThats the statement I made. Obviously, with a 17 vs 3 vote, people wanted the map change. But that is beside the point.
You’re entirely right about the private admin chat too.
Ninja Vanish
ParticipantWell my point for the post was just to let people know that we weren’t trying to underine any of the higher admin’s authority. At no point did we fight back against them by trying to change the map and such. It was one mistake that escalated into an argument. There was no way I could’ve known that certain people were having a bad week, and when I stated that when I came back from my “time-out” kick by Kuros, I didn’t speak. I didn’t want to keep the arguing going, but I kept getting pulled in by snide and insulting comments by other admins which I didn’t enjoy. I’m not the kind of person to just let somebody sit there and bash me and other friends of mine when we aren’t fighting back.
But yeah, I was just wondering if stripping us of our already basic admin powers was necessary. I could understand if maybe it was like a temporary thing, but we seem to be taking the blame pretty hard for this.
Regardless, I’m sorry for the conflict.
And Kuros, that might have been Postal or someone, cause I never initiated another map vote after the first one for de_dust2. You changed it back to de_dust and that was that. And you said you were going to maybe cancel the vote, but you didn’t. I never read any text saying for me to cancel it or I would have. Thought you would have cancelled it if you wanted that to happen.
Also, when I came back, you started attacking me again which was uncalled for, because I had had enough and was staying quiet. Didn’t want anymore arguing and had already stated that I was fine with your decision and made a bad call with the map vote.
When you attacked me and I told you to not do that, you kicked me again. There was no “warnings” as you put it for either of the kicks, but I understand that you did what you felt you had to to stem the situation. Miscommunication and all. But you just made a huge list of things, but my only offenses are as follows:
1) Initiated a map vote to find out who wanted to keep playing. (1 time and 1 time only.)
2) Unintentionally switched maps mid-round. <—- accident. (1 time and 1 time only.)
3) Fired back when you and Flakes insulted/argued with me. (1 time and 1 time only.)
4) Was kicked two times. (once for each time I defended myself against an attack.)
I just don’t understand why we were attacked for one mistake, especially when we did nothing to work against your corrections or commands afterwards. Didn’t seem fair to get so much flak because people were having a bad day or week or whatever the reason was.

ParticipantI know that alot of this has been said before, but here is my 2 cents:
Dust, although one of CS’s most legendary maps, tends to always be one-sided. The server rarely has a solid Terrorist team to win any rounds, and we have a problem with stacking on the CT side as it is. Alot of people voice their complaints (Terrorists mainly) over how uneven they feel this is, and although the map does help bring more people to the server, I think it should be looked at.
Assault is difficult, but even I like having it in the rotation.
Chateau should be in there too.
But I entirely agree that it would be nice to maybe have an end of map vote.
Regardless, even the hard maps can be won with some strategy and coordination. Rushing wins you rounds. Enough said. People need to not be afraid to die. They rely too much on this ranking system to actually play with half a brain.

ParticipantIt’d be around 4, 5, 6 your time. When everybody is getting off of work, and by then school is out as well.
Ninja Vanish
ParticipantWhat do you mean its ridiculous to use strats in pub? Thats how I get my kicks. Nothing beats creaming the other team with some perfectly executed moves. NOTHING!
Counter-Terrorists win!
