Oh trust me.. I think most of us hate the Patriot Act as well. And Bush may’ve been a Republican, but he didn’t act like it.

true, except for the fact that the patriot act was enacted in his first term, where as he didn’t start straying from conservative virtues and policy till his second term. According to his right hand man anyway, *edited*head cheyney.

Oh please man don’t think republicans wouldn’t support this *edited*. And if they don’t, It just shows how hypocritical there whole party is. If this was drafted 8 years ago, you betcha it would be pass through. Reminds me of this amazing bill that was passed by both republicans and democrats, back in the day(republicans were alot stronger back in 01 in congress):

The Act increases the ability of law enforcement agencies to search telephone, e-mail communications, medical, financial, and other records; eases restrictions on foreign intelligence gathering within the United States; expands the Secretary of the Treasury’s authority to regulate financial transactions, particularly those involving foreign individuals and entities; and enhances the discretion of law enforcement and immigration authorities in detaining and deporting immigrants suspected of terrorism-related acts.

the expanded use of National Security Letters, which allows the FBI to search telephone, e-mail, and financial records without a court order; and the expanded access of law enforcement agencies to business records, including library and financial records

text above isn’t from the internet control bill, but one we passed a long time ago? It ring a bell to anyone? The patriot act. Republicans cry for injustice and the ‘taking away of civil liberty’ is about as pathetic and hypocritical as one can get. I’m not justifying the proposed internet takeover bill, but don’t think a republican wouldn’t try and pull this kind of *edited* if they were in office, because they would and already have.

So let me get this straight….when a democratic president decides to do something to strengthen security he is labeled hitler, but when a republican president does the exact same thing, he’s a patriot? talk about bull*edited* and lets not forget the latter actually happened, patriot crap was signed by good ole bush, if obama were to even come close signing something like this all the hypocrites called republicans would go nuts. wing nuts

I believe that just means Americans are not intelligent and has nothing to do with him being a good news anchor or trusted or anything. I also bet that either Time magazine or Rolling Stone or some other “reputable” polling service came up with that figure as well.

95% of what that man says is nonsensical gibberish pertaining to highly edited news clips mixed with 5% of him making funny faces while pausing letting the audience laugh at the nonsensical gibberish.

Yep, I can see how people would find that humorous and therefore trust him more than the local news anchor who actually does a good job relaying news that is relative to the area. Sounds bites and flashing pictures tends to entertain us more than a man in a tie telling us what we need to know.

I hate fighting with u NuRayz :( I understand how he is comedic and people like him, It just frustrates me that Americans rely on him to bring news.

    lol

i was merely pointing out how poor our media is. Way to take what I say out of context!!! >:(

    jk <3 major

and the only reason I watch the show isn’t because HE is funny, but because of how those clips are so masterfully and highly edited. Makes me lol everytime, i could care less about him being constipated on the screen half the time.

hell what does that say about our media? A comedian is more trusted than anyone else…now that’s a joke. lol

Not to mention the middle school kids doing anal. That’s taking sexual liberation TOO far, imo.

lol you are giving that chart way to much credit. cat that plays keyboard is not our greatest celebrity, and the percentage of middle school kids doing anal is probably the same as it always was, dumb *edited*ed up kids have always been around.

why are you depressed? Because we don’t prevent blacks from going to school? OR because we have sex whenever we want? Or because we don’t have to work at one company our whole life? don’t hate the player, hate the game.

They are here because WE hire them. Democrats and Republicans both. We need to stop hiring them, simple as that. Although not so simple. What is the penalty for hiring illegal immigrants? They need to have sting operations where they catch employers hiring fake illegals. Like dateline’s pedowatch.

Tom B. comes in, “do you know what you are doing”

1.) The government isn’t forcing the pharmaceutical companies to lower their prices. The Companies themselves are saying they can lower the prices. Also, think about all the money wasted on named brand medication. Generic is just as effective any form and a lot cheaper too. These pharmaceutical companies willing to work with the government, to supply more people with cheaper medication, and in turn probably make more money; it’s not like we are sticking a gun in their face.

2.) Premiums. Why the hell are they being raised so god *edited* much? Part of it has to do with the above statement. Some insurance companies will only allow people to get named brand medication, because it’s more expensive. Also it just seems like a vicious cycle. Premiums go up = More people who can’t afford health insurance goes up = more people who need charity cases = more wasted money = rise in premiums. Premiums have gone up over 3 fold compared to raises in minimum wage. When someone has to decide whether to put food on the table or buy medicine for their child, it’s time for *edited*ing reform. People in AMERICA should have the assurance that they will be able to work hard, and provide for their family; without getting screwed over by insurance companies.

3.) Types of plans. For one thing, there is ALOT which can be reformed in this section alone. HMO’s are horrible. And people are dropped all the time because they get sick more than the insurance companies want them too. How can you sit there and defend insurance companies, when hundreds of thousands die every year because they were uninsured, OR RATHER kicked off their insurance plan because the insurance companies found them not profitable. You wanna talk about rationing and prioritizing?

4.) Insurance profits. Okay, yes, they are allowed to make a profit. But how much? And at what expense? At the expense of millions who get sick and die every year without health insurance? *edited* that. Have you seen some of the compensations these insurance giants have been making? Lets take a look at their CEO’s

    http://www.sickforprofit.com

    UnitedHealth CEO

    Stephen J. Hemsley

    2007 Compensation

    $13.2 million

    2008 Compensation (Forbes)

    $3,241,042

Former Managing Partner and CFO of Arthur Andersen (BusinessWeek)

Total Value of Unexercised Stock Options (Forbes)

    $744,232,068

    2009 Options Exercise

    $127,001,281

Value of Wayzata, Minnesota Home (Hennepin County Assessor)

    $6,640,000

And that’s just ONE GUY. ONE PERSON. hmm… we are trying to figure out how to help more people get health insurance, and we have these morons raking in millions with a *edited*ing ‘s’. Now, unless your father is a CEO, why in the flipping world would you believe someone like this? Someone who is just trying to make more money, not provide fair and affordable health insurance.
