Look, is everyone on agreement on the fact the students are supposed to be making decisions here?

    How about we do this:

Hold a meeting at the very beginning of next semester where all students who attended at least one LAN or meeting hold full voting and executive eligibility. Then the students will get what they want,.

I wasn’t planning on pointing out anything. To better serve as the unofficial liaison between the clubs, I would like the correct version.

    Yeah, it’s pretty cool.

I, for one, would like to see it at a LAN.

Put a cell phone and a keychain on this thing, and I would totally buy one.

All of you are overlooking how awesome it is.

    Agreed.

So who is for cute kitty stories?

My cat once chewed the limbs off a vole and watched it die. It didn’t even eat the corpse. SUCH A CUTE WITTLE KITTY!

I doubt China would ban WoW. The Chinese government would rather not kill the gold farming industry.

Yeah, there’s not a whole lot of us that bring our decks to the LANs, and we typically just fit in a few rounds between tournaments, wherein the hunters will hunt for hours on end. TCGs are best suited for their own event due to time constraints.

I’ve played TCGs at every LAN I’ve attended so far.

What do the alumni have to do with this? We didn’t call the impeachment vote or have anything to do with it. You guys have time and again ignored the alumni and done whatever the hell you wanted so why are WE now the leading cause of your dissatisfaction?

You have again dodged this very important question.

you can’t possibly think helping to form a competing club with the intention of stealing members from this club is beneficial to us.

    Do you?

    Can we get an answer?

It sure seems that way, Mitch.

I already answered your question. That is not the intention of our club.

TF itself doesn’t have anything to do with it, some of their members support the alumnis. It’s not them as a group, just a few individuals.

What are we extorting or stealing from you?

The intention of our club is to provide a strong gaming community to the campus.

Say what you will, but this situation will go a lot more smoothly with a face to face open invitation meeting. Let’s stop hiding behind monitors and talk this out like adults.

What situation? The fact you guys are starting another club JUST in spite of the fact we impeached Kazka? The problem was started by those who left. Why would we want to make the other club start smoothly? Because thats the issue here. I’m all down for face to face, but I mean i hold no exec position at all. So I guess just get in touch with an exec.

The “lounge crew” as we apparently are called online, have been having issues with the alumnis for a pretty long time. That meeting was just the tipping point.

You are welcome to come, but I haven’t heard any of the higher-ups among the alumnis or The Family agreeing to meet with us, so I don’t know if there will even be a face to face. But if any other people want to get together, let me know somehow and I’ll try to help work out a time and place.

To Mitch: That isn’t the intention of our club.

    You completely misunderstand.

    Like I said above:

“Believe it or not, I want this club to stay alive. However, I realize that a LOT of change must be done to accomplish this and a lot of people have been resisting this change. If change continues to be resisted, this club will die.”

I want to change this club, so it won’t die, hence me calling for open, face to face negotiations. I am helping with the other club because I don’t think this club will change, which will lead to it’s death. I do hope we can work something out though.

The private boards are for the elected officers. I am an elected officer.

Believe it or not, I want this club to stay alive. However, I realize that a LOT of change must be done to accomplish this and a lot of people have been resisting this change. If change continues to be resisted, this club will die.

I purpose a face to face open discussion on the matter.

Well, if you honestly believe I plan on *edited*ing up this forum, at least give back the privileges to view the private forums.

Really, I’m trying to work as a middle man in this situation, and I feel open, direct, real life negotiations are the way to go.

I did explain in full detail. I had them before, and everything went swell. If you looking for potential power abuse, power abuse has already gone on, and the people who abused that power still have it and you don’t seem to be complaining.

Also, Liam, are you even an alumni or current student of Western?

I’m guessing you missed this post that explains why? Liam’s given you a chance to explain your reasons why you want your privileges back and its your choice and responsibility to explain why you should get them back, as well as show you’re a mature and level-headed adult to deserve them back.

    My argument is as follows:

    1) I am an elected officer.

    2) I was not given any specific reason for the privilege changes.

    3) I was not notified of the change, nor was anything brought up about it at any meeting.

    You call that vague?

You wanting to be an exec in the new club is a horrid analogy for me wanting my powers over here back.

The analogy is directly related. You wouldn’t give me powers on your site if you knew my main focus was promoting this club so why should we do the same with you?

    FTE Lieutenant Dan said:

I didn’t recieve any notification of my demotion nor have I heard ANY reason why I was demoted.

I’m sure it’ll be posted soon. As for the reason, don’t be obtuse, you know why.

    FTE Lieutenant Dan said:

There is nothing in the constitution of either club that says I can’t hold a position in both.

Oddly enough, that’s true. We’ve never had to deal with a group of people quitting and taking as many members as they could with them and then expecting to still be an exec here…

    FTE Lieutenant Dan said:

I would understand my demotion if my sole reason for being here was promoting the other club like you said, but I haven’t done anything promoting the other club (NINJA EDIT: on this forum).

As I understand, Felix is in the exact same situation as myself, so reinstate his powers as well.

The club exists outside this forum and you just admitted to promoting the other club IRL. Felix has too. You have stated in the past that the club as it exists IRL on campus is more important than how it exists on the forums so why should we treat the slap in the face as if it were given on the less tender cheek?

    1) Because I was voted in.

    2) As for the reason, I would love to know.

    3) I was under the impression I wasn’t an exec anyways, just a CL. And I never quit this club.

    4) I would much rather overhaul this club than help start a new one, but a lot of people are making change difficult.
