Why would we need spies? We’re still members of this club.

After the last ragequit exec we prefer to not take any chances. It took about a month to get back what was deleted and even longer for the PC side’s numbers to recover. You wouldn’t know about that though because you weren’t a member last year (literally every member knew about it) and I’m sure Kazka conveniently left that part of our history out while QQ’ing about losing forum access.

If you still want to be a part of this club GREAT! I mean we really don’t want to alienate anyone and will continue to operate in the same direction that we have been for the last 3 years. If you’re a member here solely to recruit members for your other club, THAT we have a problem with. I mean you are an exec in their club after all… and so is our new console VP…

If I joined your group and wanted to be an exec, would you let me? No. Would you question my motives? Yes. Same logic applies to you guys. We don’t know if you’re here to help or hurt and with everything that’s been said the last few days can you really blame us?

You wanting to be an exec in the new club is a horrid analogy for me wanting my powers over here back. I didn’t recieve any notification of my demotion nor have I heard ANY reason why I was demoted. There is nothing in the constitution of either club that says I can’t hold a position in both.

I would understand my demotion if my sole reason for being here was promoting the other club like you said, but I haven’t done anything promoting the other club (NINJA EDIT: on this forum).

As I understand, Felix is in the exact same situation as myself, so reinstate his powers as well.

    What position was Alex?

He’s the new implanted spy for their club, aka console VP. He is to join the ranks of the others who don’t care about this club, want this club to fail, and won’t show up to our LAN to do their job but still expect to be treated like execs until the very day they screw us. It’s like the CIA catching a senator selling defense secrets to terrorists and the senator expecting to keep the security clearances until the day the terrorists attack.

I had to go ask a commuter lounge who he was and what his forums account was because as is typical they never make it apparent who they are or ask for powers when they’re needed. They always assume that people who have no clue who they are will magically know who they are when they’re elected and then blame everyone else when reality takes place.

You seemed pretty on-the-ball when it comes to power changes, after all, Kaz’s power was cut less than an hour after the meeting.

Nothing against you Jason but Im pretty sure this isnt a mistake. My admin privliges were revoked not even an hour after the meeting. Hell from what Ive heard, Freezer was on the phone telling somebody to go ahead and kill my privledges as soon as the meeting ended. Honestly I dont give two *edited*s though. I’ve got bigger plans.

Apparently I need to read the Minutes thread I have no idea what went down.

OK, now I get it… Can someone post something about the reasons for this where members of Club Advisors and higher can know what is going on, unless of course it is for personal reasons. I would just like to know the reason behind this, I think this is the first time something like this has ever happened.

Why keep this secret? Four (Me, Kaz, Alex, and Felix) elected officers were kicked out of power, with no reason given. This seems like something that should be made open.

Why were Alex’s and my admin/mod powers revoked? There was nothing about this at the meeting.

I do have Propane Nightmares by Pendulum, What’s Up People by Maximum the Hormone, some Initial D songs, and some Rammstein.

Hold Your Color, Fasten Your Seatbelt, and Granite are also really good Pendulum songs. Zetsubou Billy is another good Maximum the Hormone song. Space Boy and Running in the 90’s are must haves for initial d stuff. Get Ramp, Fire, and Maria from Scooter.

Most of them do run badly on my laptop.

My desktop is at home, so I play PC more during the summer. I don’t crave PC games enough to upgrade my laptop or haul my desktop to campus.

There’s been concerns over vote stacking on IRC.

Bull*edited*. At one meeting, Fascist Flakes got enthusiastic about a tournament, and jokingly typed down its name a few times. A few corrupt individuals then accused him of vote stacking. If we are going to count the votes of a handful of the president’s friends who couldn’t make the meeting or irc, then we should count online voting.

I was referring to the ease of sockpuppetry.

I would be for online voting if there was a way to prevent fraud.

If this is true, we should allow people to vote over irc. After all, if someone off-campus can vote on games, they are more likely to show up to the LAN. Also, at the last meeting, two people who were not at the meeting or irc ha their votes counted.

    Yep, I’m a PC player.

The meetings are just as important as the LANs are.

Enough people showing up to vote a game in is the work that must be done to reap the reward of having the game at the LAN.

If you don’t work for a reward, don’t whine when you don’t get it.

(Don’t get me wrong, I am all for the rule Shingi suggested a while back of having the highest attended games voted in automatically.)

Seriously Mitch, stop acting as if there is an anti-PC conspiracy on campus.

Mitch calls ’em like he sees them, and that is what it looks like. I mean maybe you guys are not intentionally trying to oust us, but it’s what it feels like, it’s what it looks like, and even what it sounds like… What else do you expect us to think? I mean maybe you guys are just voting in games that you want to play, which is fine we pretty much did the same thing. But what we never did is vote in and host a tournament on consoles that would take away from the meaning of consoles. This is exactly what you are doing by allowing a game like Guilty Gear to be voted in and hosted on PCs, what part of Guilty Gear makes it a PC game, what part of Guilty Gear makes it a new hip game that is offered on PCs? If you can’t make points that will make a full-blown PC player like MasterP want to play that game, then it shouldn’t be a hosted tournament, free play, hell yeah go for it!

I’m a PC gamer, and I enjoy playing GG. What makes Mitch’s opinion more important than mine?

My main point is I really think you should stop voting in games that are more console related, that are old, that not many people want to play. I know there aren’t many PC players like us old-timers left on campus anymore, but there has got to be some out there and I think that to get them there you need to be playing the games on PC that are popular. Just because you play MW2 on the 360 does not mean that everyone will want to play it on there, it has already been said how much PC players LOATHE using the joysticks for aiming.

This is actually a reason we are holding GG on PC, because we don’t like using xbox controllers for fighting games.

It is OK to run the same game on different devices especially when it is PC and Console.

I would like to bring up the reason many people are against holding Brawl and Melee: diversity. If the people who criticize lack of diversity in running both Brawl and Melee, they will criticize running MW2 on PC and 360.

Play games and have fun, but seriously think about what you are voting in and how it comes across to us who care about this club, and have a lot of time invested into this club, we don’t appreciate the way that we are currently being treated. If you want less drama from us stop messing with what made this club great to us, there is no reason or need for that.

As a club, we should host what what people at the LANs will play. If people want to play something, they should go to the meetings, vote for it, and play it at the LAN. GG players have been doing this, others haven’t.

Trust me, if there was a conspiracy, we’d be holding Minesweeper tournaments.

Since I don’t feel like like chopping your quote into bits and pieces, I will insert my comments in bold in the quote.

“Modern Warfare 2 and Gears of War 2 will be hosted at LAN 2010.2.”

No need to put it on PC, we have it for 360.

We’re talking about PC games here. A CoD PC gamer won’t play it on console and vice versa. It’s not like going from PS3 to XBOX, a PC gamer literally can’t aim at all on a console. And by can’t aim I mean I got laughed at when I went to NCSU’s ODST launch party. If I wasn’t a club officer I wouldn’t have even gone but meh. I’ll tear your *edited* up on either of the PC Halos but on console I can’t hit *edited*. That’s just how it works.

Besides, last time we did MW1 on PC and 360 at the same LAN both were successful. Highly, actually.

You dodged the point I was making. The claim is that PC gaming on campus is evolving yet from the games that are being voted in it’s more like taking a decade step backwards, SC instead of WC3 and GGear instead of CSS. I mean if you want to push for different games that’s one thing but don’t kid yourself into thinking the games selected are a step forward and don’t pretend you’ve made the best game decision when it comes to attracting the campus PC community to the events.

SC and GG are actually not a step back when you consider the causes of them being voted in.

Guilty Gear is the spiritual predecessor to BlazBlue, and BlazBlue’s popularity on campus has been huge, allowing Guilty Gear to finally get it’s foot in the door.

Starcraft 2 is due for release sometime this year, and there is a lot of hype for it. I know a lot of people who voted for Starcraft so they can be warmed up and ready for the sequel.

Please stop assuming that games like GG and SC are being voted in as jokes and understand that there are reasons people vote for what they do.

I don’t think anyone has a problem with you getting new games, the problem is that your “new games” aren’t really PC games. If you’d have voted in MW2 or some other new and popular game you’d have gotten significantly less complaints about it.

I’m not encouraging people to leave. I’m saying the club supports the most popular games. When we stop supporting a game, and a small, small minority wishes to continue to play it, they have two options:

    (1) Organize a group to play with.

    (2) Bolster the popularity of the game, likely done through option (1), and try to reintroduce it to the club.
