With the advances made in the last 6 months, if the Wii had a faster CPU it would be the dominant console as far as homebrew is concerned. In 5 minutes you can take a brand new Wii and erase 100% of Nintendo’s OS off it, play copied games without a modchip, and make it so the Wii is unbootable without your SD card. Not to mention movie streaming and internet radio.
Did I mention I can play PS1 games on it?

Even in CS16 the deagle shoots straight so what’s the difference between it an an AK? They’re both as effective at short and long range and the only real difference is mag size.
Remember when all the top CSS teams didn’t go play CS16 for the money because it was a terrible game with graphics and gameplay worse than the Duke Nukem 3D remake?
It’s a shame though for them to tell you guys that it can be backwards compatible and they already have the software/firmware to do it but won’t do it because they want you to buy another console instead.
That business mentality is part of the reason I never really liked Sony. I can see the benefit of cost cutting but, correct me if I’m wrong, the final sales price stayed the same. If nothing else, those savings should have been passed along instead of pocketed as the original sales price is why many were weary of it.

If you have more than 60 FPS just turn V-sync on. The picture will be better and will limit your video card to what you monitor can display.

I don’t get how people can play with a vote menu taking up that side of the screen. Maybe you guys need to start creating votes at the very end of a round so people push buttons when they start to buy.
Btw, if spectators not voting is an issue there’s a very simple way to fix that.

Emulation of any kind reduces performance, I would be surprised if they got all the games to 100% speed.
Sony really screwed you guys when they took away your entire existing library of games. I find it borderline incredible that the only current-gen console with 100% free backwards compatibility with the previous generation was Nintendo. I thought such a feature was an expectation and not even an option in regards to feature cutting to save money. I mean really, the main chip of a PS2 costs what? $50? They just wanted to push the PS3 out and not worry about it because who doesn’t want to keep that old PS2 hooked up?
Keep in mind that PS2 sales have still been extremely high since the PS3 came out. Now that they are finally starting to decline and production is becoming less profitable (???) they could cancel production and focus on their current-gen console only. Saves money, another cost cutting venture.

What bothers me is that this is a game everyone can pick up and play, even Josh is decent at this game and he hates Nintendo. Other games such as Gears, Halo, and SC4 are NOT easy to pick up and play. If I sat down and tried to play SC4 it would be embarrasing. I like playing in tournaments but don’t like super competitive console games because I don’t have the time to master the massive move lists. In the last couple years I’ve seen the console side shift to a much more competitive environment. There’s nothing wrong with being competitive but when the games you play are entirely geared towards highly competitive gaming you’re going to start turning off massive chunks of your attendance. Once they’re gone it will be extremely hard to get them back.

Anyone crying during office meetings over the death of someone they had never met has issues. Had the “old decrepit stingy white people” refused to give her sympathy she could have sued them. Wouldn’t have been the first time it’s been done.
There’s nothing wrong with being sad but we as a society are too obsessed with figureheads. Regardless of how good a singer he was or how great you think he was, you never met or knew him. He could have been an atomic *edited*, you really don’t know. You should not be that upset about his death.

When I reset the server the other day it had 7/8 in less than 1 minute of uptime.

Keep in mind that if you reduce the games played someone is going to feel left out. To be blunt, I see the Wii disappearing under this system because there’s always going to be a hip cool fighting game on 360/PS3 that everyone’s going to be caught up in and forget 3 months later (or completely hate after the LAN). Just remember to keep past tournament numbers in mind when deciding on games to play, if a game is continually drawing heavy crowds keep playing it.
You could have tournaments overlap and tell people they can’t play in both, or if they do they won’t be allowed to hold up the entire bracket while they play somewhere else. I know it’s not ideal but people come for diversity and while the PC side can get away with only playing 4 games I’m not really convinced the console side can.
