Of course it did, yankees don’t know their history. Muslims almost always build a mosque on or very near a religious or societal structure after they’ve destroyed it. It’s a sign of dominance and functions as a constant reminder of their accomplishment. inb4 no they don’t, google it. I guess it’s better than what they used to do to churches in the middle east, it’s harder to get away with zerg infesting them than it used to be.

I do find it odd that churches spend years in legal proceeding when they want to expand beyond a certain size but as soon as the muslims want to build something that dwarfs most churches around there they get an instant pass. Since they’re all buddy buddy in New York, let’s build a giant Catholic church right beside the mosque.

Well her driving force was revenge not bloodlust. She was *edited*ed at mengsk for leaving her and she thinks raynor did the same. Did i catch that right that the xel’naga are part zerg part protoss? The protoss say the xelnaga made them and the zerg but then who made the terrans?

That ignores the Brood War campaigns. In them, Kerrigan stuck an alliance with Raynor, the protoss zealot Fenix, and Arcturus Mengsk to push the UED out of the Koprulu Sector. She used their puppet alliance to destroy the second overmind which returned full control of the zerg swarm back to her. Once she regained control, she turned the swarm against the terrans, UED, and protoss.

The Xel’naga are not in any way related to any of the other races in Starcraft. They are a completely seperate race that is much, much older than any of them. They “created” the protoss and zerg by manipulating their natural development. With the protoss they gave them relics, greatly increased their natural development, introduced themselves as “gods” and then when the protoss started to fight each other *edited*ed their pants and ran away. They then took the zerg, a small insect species, and gave them a couple million year evolution bump that eventually made them the dominant species on the planet and allowed them to assimilate other species. To prevent them from civil warring, they slaved the species to a hive mind (the Overmind) and kept watch over their progress via a hidden telepathic link. The zerg eventually captured a space faring creature, attacked the Xel’naga in orbit, did the whole zerg infest thing with most of them, and learned about the protoss. The Overmind was programmed specifically to assimilate the protoss, hence the constant warring between the zerg and protoss.

I know they were convicts and what not but I though it was all just 1 galaxy. I dont recall ever reading/hearing that they warped into this strange new place. I though the ships crash landed on a random planet.

I don’t think warping was mentioned at all until SC2. The original “colonists” aka political prisoners were on sleeper ships. They’re still in the same galaxy as Earth but are on the outer edge aka fringe, I think it was something like 60,000 LY from Earth. The 4 ships went their seperate ways but the ship that landed on Tarsonis had the fleet’s AI and was able to get a technological head start over the other colonies. They colonized other planets and eventually conquered the other 2 colony empires. The fourth colony ship crash landed, killing most onboard so they never really took off as a colony.

One thing I found particularly interesting is that Raynor had already de-infested a human before by a simple injection. Why didn’t they do that to Kerrigan? I mean yeah it’s really nice to wipe out all life on their homeworld but removing Kerrigan’s control of the swarm would have been just as effective.

I imagine it’s going to say that she can still control the zerg swarm but isn’t controlled by the zerg bloodlust for galactic conquest.

It shouldn’t take long to pump out another 20-30 maps now that they’ve got the engine and the mapeditor.

The question is how much do they care to do it?

Oh btw, Punkbuster was enabled on that server. He had a really cool aimbot though, when it killed it you it announced to the server in chat that it (the aimbot) had killed you, told you how many shots it took to kill you, how many times it had killed you, and how many total kills it (the bot) had.

Better than the hackers in CoD4.

    MasterP: “Why do you bother?”

Hacker: “I’m trying to level my account. When I get to lvl55 I’ll stop.”

MasterP: “No you won’t, you’ll get to lvl55, still suck, and turn your hacks back on.”

Hacker: “I won’t suck when I get the good guns.”

At this point 12 players typed “lol”, “rofl” or “wtf” at the same time. The other 10 were nerd rageing at the guy that just headshot them with a para from across the map while typing in chat.

There’s no way to tell where they’re taking CSS. TF2 started small and innocent and now I barely recognize it as the same game.

IMO all this expansion is a distraction away from where they should be going, Episode 3.

They’re going to do to CSS what they did to TF2. I can’t stand to play TF2 now because they made it like BF2 with time-related unlocks and achievements. It’s not really about who’s the better team it’s about which team has the most/best unlocks.

I think Nickname designed those because he got tired of waiting and just wanted something even if it wasn’t club approved.

If that’s the same thing he has, it looks really good, except Cafepress pulled a Cafepress and messed it up <_>

Not to be a negative nancy but this is like the 4th or 5th time a club t-shirt has been attempted.

On a less negative note, if you get one made I’ll definately buy one.

Get in touch with Nickname, he made his own shirt with the controller logo and might still have the graphic he used as a source.

It doesn’t have the LAN option and it’s causing some major backlash b/c that was a critical feature that made the original such a popular multiplayer game.

We can still play across bnet, my understanding is that consoles have done similar before.

My friend has a Zune and we found out that it syncs with windows 7 like a beast. It loaded every song he had onto his new PC almost instantly and being able to navigate through playlists, artists, albums, etc was easy. I have Vista unfortunately, but if they programed the Zune to have the same relationship with that os then I’d definitely go with zune.

Vista won’t get those features because how Windows7 interacts with portable devices has been completely redesigned.

So DRMing is like renting songs I take it? I can’t err, upload my music from another source now?

DRM’ing with music typically means you can only play it within the player your bought it and on devices that it approves of. It’s stupid and is being phased out by the music industry because it’s driving legit customers to piracy because the music they bought isn’t really theirs.

I got it. It’s pretty choppy on my machine though.

    How fast is your computer?

I think for the graphics it has it scales down pretty well. I’ve been playing it on my old laptop while out of town and it’s been playing surprisingly well for a P4 with 2GB and an ATI x600. The killer for this game is the GPU which means most laptops without a discrete graphics (Intel GMA) probably won’t be able to touch it.

I’m definately sensing some LAN potential here. It seems to have a slightly slower pace than the original but isn’t horribly imbalanced like WC3 was.

I think for CS16 any map in the map folder can be voted on or set by an admin. For CSS only maps in the maplist file are available unless you set it using RCON.
