If we’re going to reformat it why not just put Server 2008 Enterprise x64 on it? Probably wouldn’t hurt to upgrade all our servers to it.

 

Here’s the problem, once the seniors this year graduate it’ll be hard enough for the on campus people to do anything with the servers in Windows. You start throwing OSes that make absolutely no sense into the mix and you might as well just disable all remote access to the servers because the same amount of work will be getting done.

 

Windows Server works. In fact it works pretty *edited* well. We get the most expensive version of it for free. As it sits now I don’t believe we can lose.

Just don’t bother with achievements. That’s why I quit playing BF2 was because there was such a high regard placed on medals and unlocks no normal gamer could ever get without dedicating months of time to it.

Reason you should be the CL: I’ve been an admin for CS:S for over a year now and have been playing on WCU servers since August 2007. I have maintained a constant presence on the forums and have traveled to WCU for one of the lans (I plan on being at the one in March as well). Everyone who plays Source on WCU knows me or knows of me. Lately I have been idling IRC, but I plan to do this a lot more. I am familiar with all of the rules that have been set for the CS:S server and I am prepared to pick out a good rotation for the gun game server that will allow it to be populated. I also have a lot of friends in the WCU community that I believe I could convince to join me on the gun game server.

 

I have played on the gun game server before (although I always seem to play against bots) and I feel that there are a few problems that keep it from being populated. Custom smaller maps are the way to go that make rounds quicker and would get people to play more. There is no one to get people to try them out. No one seems to be excited about the gun game server enough to get people on it. There are no stats for it on the main page and there are no stats for the server besides the number of times won. I would recommend encouraging more competition on this as well either with some type of stats or regular events or scheduled times to be on.

 

I think I can bring the server back from the dead.. or just to life since I don’t think it ever was before.

Reason you should be the CL: I have been a admin for wcu since april of 06 and have tried everything i could to help the community and servers as best i can .

And i think i can get the css gg server to be the way the css server is staying full at all hours of the day .

I have ran a server before i ran 5 servers at one time with the last clan i was with and i take the position very serouse because a server is only as good as the people running it this has been proven with not only the cs server but also the css server they both hav good cls and the servers are rocking . And i would like to do nothing but carry on what the others have started for the greater good of a great club and comunity .

The new skin. I think the old one defined us as an organization of the school, not a department of it. We’re lucky if we even get funds anymore. It’s great to want to have an integrated looking website like ASU does but we aren’t ASU. Not to mention that the entirety of everyone on campus has hated the new website colors since day one and not even IT can control what goes on with the website as they hate their new one as well.

 

Why don’t we make something that THEY want to copy, instead of copying something that looked terrible to begin with and doesn’t really represent us at all.

 

Btw, you need to extend the width of the site. Right now it’s at 760 pixels, at least make it 1024.

Just to make this clear:

 

Votemute requires 75% majority

Votekick requires 75% majority

Voteban requires 90% majority

 

The commands would only be available when admins aren’t on. If for whatever reason an admin is spamming or doing something that a normal player would be kicked for, PM me with the date and time and he’ll be dealt with.

 

As someone else said, there aren’t going to be enough mal-intentioned people on at one time to abuse that high a requirement.

 

The maniadmin system for this is set up so that you type votekick and a menu will appear. In that menu you select the player and a public announcement is made that you elected to votekick , x number of people have elected to kick him and x number of votes are required to kick.

It was kept for the sole purpose of logging. Whenever we clear the database it pretty much wipes all our logging clear and anytime we need to trace a steamID or or name we have to go through the logs.
