    7:27 PM

Michael Huffman proposed giving a cash prize of no more than $40 to the winners of some tournaments. Other potential prizes include gift certificates to stores, such as Walmart and Gamestop. No decision was made on the matter.

    7:39 PM

It was decided that the Soul Calibur 4 and Street Fighter 4 tournaments at the next LAN will be run upon both the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The exact nature of this setup follows:

-If both contestants agree to use a particular platform, that platform will be used.

-If there is a disagreement as to which platform will be used, there will be a coin-toss to decide the platform used for the first round.

-The loser of the first round will choose the platform used in the second round.

    7:41 PM

It was determined that at least three copies of Street Fighter 4 would be available.

Before the next meeting, an ultimatum will be given to Dell demanding more material support at the next LAN Event. At the next meeting, a vote will be taken as to whether Dell should be kept as a sponsor.

    7:54 PM

Michael Huffman reminded those in attendance of the importance of dedicated moderators keeping watch over the tournaments.

    7:58 PM

A number of ideas were discussed for future club-related events:

    -A cookout.

    -A movie night.

    8:02 PM

    The meeting was adjourned.

Ok whats up with the crossing out of names and filling in with derogatory language. This is a little overboard and shows a lack of maturity.

It was on the sheet when I got it. I assumed it was some kind of joke.

I honestly don’t find it funny, and a total lack of respect towards your fellow club members, regardless if you like them or not. Whomever did it just proves why this community is struggling my honest opinion.

Nice fast meeting, how it should be done, very well done.

I would suggest keeping the riff raff, our of the minutes and keeping the minutes strictly business related. I know you guys like to have fun and that is fine, but do remember that everyone and anyone can read these minutes i.e. potential sponsors.

Well, it shouldn’t be difficult to figure out who did it. There were less than fifteen people at the club. I generally try to put down exactly what people leave as their alias, because people joke around with it all the time. If anybody is super offended, I can easily remove the profanity.

Edit: Meh. It was too distracting. I took it out.

it was not decided that “-The loser of the coin toss will choose the platform used in the second round.” it was decided that the looser of the first round would choose the platform for the second round, not the looser of the coin toss

I also don’t believe that it was decided that there be $40 cash prizes a $40 prize limit was discussed as well as the possibility of gamestop/walmart gift cards of $40 as prizes

Why bother? All Dell has done the last 3 LANs is use us for advertising and give nothing in return. Tbh, I’m at the point where if they can’t offer proof of material assistance or sponsorship they don’t get a table at the next LAN. I mean seriously, we have a campus contract with Dell and they can’t support our gaming club. Weak.

At least the Apple guy helps set up and take down.

Idk if Student Computing will be there next time. I’m not sure if they got the exposure they wanted. Will ask tomorrow.

Makana did indeed graduate, I am not sure who took over but I doubt you will find someone as good as him, good luck though.

There are others just as good that already work for IT that wanted the spot.

Good, I had hoped that was the case.
