See that’s not how our system is suppsed to work. If you think someone hacks you record a demo and ban, not record a demo and discuss it. By not banning you’re basically telling everyone you know you don’t have enough evidence.

Oh? I was pretty sure it was the other way. Here’s some proof:

You mean the one that’s higher ranked than the CS16 server?

Btw, I’m sure Adam37 wouldn’t appreciate you giving players grief over their score in public admin say either. If you think they hack demo and ban, otherwise keep your drama to yourself.

Apparently when people hack in CSS we post demos and talk about it until the topic dies instead of banning. Then we unban the ones that do hack. So…yeah.

Quit trying to run players off. If you want to run players off do it on servers you play on.

Don’t worry, I banned myself from your empty server. Don’t have to worry about me anymore.

There comes a point in time where two parties realize they can’t get along and the visiting party moves on. I think with all the drama surrounding you lately, maybe it’s that time for you.

It sounded from when you were talking like you had a false sensor reading. The system isn’t over heating but it thinks it is so it shuts down. The only other thing to do would be a diagnostic scan of the OS for problems there which we wouldn’t be able to diagnose without seeing the machine. If it’s fairly regular, boot up a live CD and see if it still shuts down after it works for a while. If it doesn’t, it’s a Windows problem, if it does, its a hardware problem.

So how WERE they meant to be worded? If the rules were never meant to be followed why’d you even write them?

Are you seriously this dense now?

I don’t think a votemap that passed with a nearly 90% margin in a roughly half full server that *edited*ed one single person off is obsessive or abusing.

The point is that they were never meant to be followed TO THE LETTER. Don’t *edited*ing argue with me about what they were for, I wrote them and posted them. That’s like telling Microsoft that Direct3d wasn’t designed for gaming.

So what did you say, exactly? I just saw a lot of *edited*ing and complaining about how rules should magically become flexible when you break them.

You just proved my point. You have no idea what you’re talking about.

Just so you know Kuros, from the exec’s viewpoint, it looks like you’re complaining that we shouldn’t have the rules that you break on a semi-regular basis. Should we get rid of these rules because they’re the ones you don’t follow anyway or because they’re genuinely bad for the server? Until recently, they seemed to have kept the server pretty full.

If I’m not mistaken, you wrote most of them so why are execs now the bad guys for enforcing them?

I think you need to take a class on reading comprehension because you didn’t get half of what I said in that post.

I should note that as the person that designed those rules, I know how they were meant to be implemented. They were never to be rigid and inflexible, they were meant to dissuade obsessive admin command usage. Should people be coming in and changing the map after 2 rounds? No. But if 15 out of 20 people want to play scoutzknivez why shouldn’t they be entitled to do so? The rules are there to prevent abuse, not prevent fun and enjoyment. There are several times when we’ve given paras and low grav on deagle5 on CSS (clearly against the admin rules) but people loved it. We’ve done a ma_beacon #all. We’ve done all those things when the time was appropriate. I have spent a considerable amount of time with the 1.6 admins lately and there is only one that I think even deserves a second look at for reevaluation. We try to make it fun for as many people as we can and help keep the game from becoming the same grind and a tedious bore. I don’t think a single person coming on the forums (or 2 for that matter) and *edited*ing is enough to warrant screwing over the other 50,757 people that just want to have some fun. Take a break and get a beer for 15 minutes…it’s not going to kill you if you don’t want to play the map.

fyi rtv is broken. Tell me how we are supposed to get 13 votes with 7 players online and we’ll stop doing mapvotes.

There is a difference in resetting a router and resetting a router to factory defaults. I have no idea whether he power cycled it or actually held the button down.

Basically I feel like a noob asking these questions but I have exhausted my knowledge of connecting to networks. Basically I connect fine to my router here at home and I can talk to people via steam and IM, but the second I open IE8 or Firefox the pages won’t load. It literally loads a white page and I can hear firefox saying “Ta-da! There Ya Go” and there is nothing there.

If I connect to any other router, whether it be at school or one of the unsecured ones near my house (Honeypots) I can load pages with ease and I have nearly no issues. I’ve tried in IE8 as well, and still can’t load any webpage. I’ve disabled AdBlock Plus thinking somehow I blocked every webpage, I’ve tried to “repair” status and reset the router and both didn’t help.

So any help in pointing me in the next direction would really help.

Maybe you accidentally blocked port 80. The easiest way to go about it would be to reset the router to factory defaults.
