Participanti’m assuming this is 1.6?
May 7, 2009 at 10:50 am #84131Dankst@
Participantim sure the only map he was skipping was westwood

ParticipantThe next person with a complaint filed against them for breaking the admin rules on this will have their admin status revoked.
May 7, 2009 at 12:14 pm #84154dRuGLa
ParticipantYes, 1.6. Sorry.
& It doesn’t matter what map he was skipping; he came in, played a round or two, voted. No one (especially not enough people to warrant a vote) expressed interest in skipping the map. There is a rockthevote feature for a reason dank. Let the people use it if they want.

Participantagreed, the next time someone complains about it, their admin is suspended. Im tired of dealing with this. Read the admin rules

ParticipantLess suspension, more removal completely. You guys are too nice. Make them earn it back.

ParticipantI would say send out a PM reminding the admins about the rules they should be following. I know a few admins that when they come on only check the admin sections and the 1.6 section and then leave, so this notice in the Request a Change Section will pass unveiwed.
Yea we could be harder on the admins, but a courtesy pm would be nice.
May 7, 2009 at 2:19 pm #84187Derrick LeBrocq
ParticipantI think they have enough warnings.

Participantfyi rtv is broken. Tell me how we are supposed to get 13 votes with 7 players online and we’ll stop doing mapvotes.

ParticipantLet Kuros do what he wants…he is GOD after all.

ParticipantI should note that as the person that designed those rules, I know how they were meant to be implemented. They were never to be rigid and inflexible, they were meant to dissuade obsessive admin command usage. Should people be coming in and changing the map after 2 rounds? No. But if 15 out of 20 people want to play scoutzknivez why shouldn’t they be entitled to do so? The rules are there to prevent abuse, not prevent fun and enjoyment. There are several times when we’ve given paras and low grav on deagle5 on CSS (clearly against the admin rules) but people loved it. We’ve done a ma_beacon #all. We’ve done all those things when the time was appropriate. I have spent a considerable amount of time with the 1.6 admins lately and there is only one that I think even deserves a second look at for reevaluation. We try to make it fun for as many people as we can and help keep the game from becoming the same grind and a tedious bore. I don’t think a single person coming on the forums (or 2 for that matter) and *edited*ing is enough to warrant screwing over the other 50,757 people that just want to have some fun. Take a break and get a beer for 15 minutes…it’s not going to kill you if you don’t want to play the map.

ParticipantI honestly think any type of map voting should be allowed. IMO if the vote wins, than the only ones who will complain is the few people that voted no. Its how you keep a server popular.
Although there should be limits. If it loses, thats it, don’t vote again. Don’t vote for another map, nothing, its over.

Participantrtv really should be like 60% IMO cause 75% is retardedly hard to get.

& The vote map has NEVER got 15 of 20 votes. & When it does change, 4, 5, 6 people leave. Because one admin came in and decided he didn’t like the map, instead of letting people rtv.
SUGGEST A CHANGE:
If yall are going to keep this votemap feature enabled, make it so there’s more than one option available.

It used to be that you HAD to use like 4 maps to even make a vote. I mean it was easy to get around because you could vote dust2 3 times and scoutzknivez once

ParticipantJust so you know Kuros, from the exec’s viewpoint, it looks like you’re complaining that we shouldn’t have the rules that you break on a semi-regular basis. Should we get rid of these rules because they’re the ones you don’t follow anyway or because they’re genuinely bad for the server? Until recently, they seemed to have kept the server pretty full.
If I’m not mistaken, you wrote most of them so why are execs now the bad guys for enforcing them?
If there’s a problem with votemap, TELL SOMEONE. Using a broken plugin as an excuse for breaking admin rules wouldn’t even have worked when you were in office so why do you think we like it any better?

I think you need to take a class on reading comprehension because you didn’t get half of what I said in that post.

ParticipantI don’t think courtesy pms are needed. They should know what the rules are before “signing” the thread.
May 7, 2009 at 8:40 pm #84247Kuros
ParticipantThe point is that they were never meant to be followed TO THE LETTER. Don’t *edited*ing argue with me about what they were for, I wrote them and posted them. That’s like telling Microsoft that Direct3d wasn’t designed for gaming.

Now I can understand some rules being more loose than others but we already have specific limitations in place that make map changing a “loose rule”.
Btw, I’m having adam37 recheck the CS16 votemap. If it doesn’t work now then it will in the next few days.

You’re making yourself look like a moron. Basic math: 10+10+2 = 22 > 14.5 =29/2. “roughly half full” & it got 10, which was nearly 50%, but not quite, & nowhere near the 90% that you’re pulling from thin air..
& because I’m willing to post doesn’t many it didn’t irritate just one person, as about 5 or 6 people left right away, probably more with 1 or 2 joining.
& WHY EVEN DO THE VOTE WHEN NO ONE HAS VOICED DISCONTENT (except for you & one other admin) ON THE MAP ITSELF?
There is a “RTV” feature for a reason, it works. I’ve seen it work, numerous times.
