Participanteh, you’re prolly right
Falcon
ParticipantIf / when we get big enough, 2-day events
Falcon
ParticipantSo, the awesome guys at the LAN looked it over and worked on it on-site, how’s it holding up so far?
Falcon
ParticipantAMEN!
Falcon
ParticipantWell, now the LAN is closed, and registration should be killed off.
correction: already done.
Falcon
Participantyup, and maybe trying to figure out how it would be possible to have DEDICATED free play systems + displays
Falcon
Participanteh, we’ll act like they can still sign up, we’ve already got hard copies

Falcon
Participantokay. scoring, I’ll decide that later. map: dod_donner, till the final round when they get to pick. time per round: tbd. long enough to make the tourney interesting, but i need to figure out how many starting players we have. last i checked we’re at 12, so if we’re under the 16 level, then we can go 4 rounds, if we’re over 16 we’ll just make it 5. To get everyone warmed up and going, I may do the 2 of 3 rounds, but I’m thinking I’ll run it straight up after 5 min warmups.
After UT2k4 last time, simple = much better

Participantwuh-oh…
RUN AWAY!!!
Falcon
Participanteh, I will not try to form a team, but I’ll plug the hole in one if need be

Falcon
ParticipantIf there’s enough demand for enough games, we could eventually evolve into a 2-day LAN. but for now, we have games open from 2 pm to 1 am.
That gives everyone enough time to set up and show up, then an hour to clean that place up afterwards. Trust me we use that hour, and then some sometimes.
We have a lot of new games officially running, now that console is a part of the fun, so we have to squeeze all that in.
Don’t get me wrong, PC games are just as subject to time constraints and all, but a lot of people want to play a lot of stuff. This time we’re doing parallel tourneys for I do believe the first time as part 1 of trying to solve that.
Mention this kind of stuff at the meetings so we can publicly debate how best to handle this kind of stuff…

that would be great bec that is mainly all i play but if the internet doesnt work when halo 2 comes out i will screamyou mean halo 3, correct?
Falcon
ParticipantI’ll play the noob spot for any of you elites out there who just want a second man to qualify for a team, but i can’t play worth *edited*. As in I’m lucky to actually be able to point at the other guy before he slaps me down.
Plus, I’ll be elsewhere trying to hold my own thru to the second round of some PC games

Falcon
Participantto get him back into teh game, sure. I has a few quarters i can throw into the fund

Falcon
Participanteh, I’ll still check the forums about once a month or so, and I don’t play 1.6, so I won’t miss ya

Falcon
Participantmmkay
i’ll do more work on these tonight
Falcon
Participantteh stove? wtf man! all I get is a microwave

Falcon
Participantalright, I’m thinking of throwing together some point scalars per weapon based on firing rate and damage per shot alone. Key events like flag caps will be rewarded a set amount, or detonations on those maps. I have no way personally to calculate statistically these ‘clutch’ players, so I will use my discretion and possibly credit them with bonus points if they do become clutch. In essence the whole thing’s gonna be an elmination bracket, not a pass bracket.
In short, the least contributive players will be cut.
I’ll pick out map times as soon as i figure out how to run the rounds
If possible I may have 3 mixed rounds, where players participate in 2 of 3 by random selection. Their scores are totaled across the rounds. That will be the initial ranking / filter rounds, then they will be playing ever-dwindling team sizes. Teams will not necessarily remain together as they progress, remember we want the #1 PLAYA. I’ll crack this together officially tonight if possible.
Falcon
Participantmeh too. Well, it hasn’t climbed in the last few days due to inactivity, but man, I play sk a lot and I know how to pull off some mad crazy knife runs.

Participantyeah, I’d say luck is indeed a huge factor. One random day I got fed up with getting smacked around in scoutzknivez and stopped using the scope on the scout altogether. Not too long after, not only do I pull off some of the most amazing noscoping I have ever seen on sk, but I continue doing so on nuke. As in, know how ct’s can come out of spawn and use the boxes and the big long metal storage unit to get on top of the lower roof of the huge warehouse on the left? I did that, then turned downrange and fired without scoping. First shot, headshot to none other than Kuros himself. I wish I had that *edited* on demo, I would have said hax right there and thrown mahself a banhammer
Plus, anyone who knows of my infamous para runs, half the time some jackass gets a lucky-*edited* shot off and headshots me as I turn the corner before I even turn to see the crowd of people, which means no para slaughter for meh. Other times, I run as long as my luck holds out, sometimes taking out upwards of 7 people in under 10 seconds
and by the way, what is that about cheating in EVERY image there? n00b.
Falcon
ParticipantI think I know some stuff… I’ll look you up some way or another
I’m much more experienced in c++, but I can at least read and comprehend a c program, possibly I can help put one together
Falcon
Participantme, of course. when is it you’re on? I’d totally jump in if i catch you’s this week. Next week is the big footrace to the semester’s end, so I’m gonna be dropping off the face of the map

Falcon
Participantalright, actually I hate to say it but i’ll be doing something like that soon. Probably Saturday, after the LAN. I may be up for an end-of-semester round (or day) of whoop-*edited*, but i won’t be regularly playing, least until i has ALL this work done
Falcon
Participantodd.
(by the way, mspaint would make saving these images easier

ParticipantGlad to have ya!
Falcon
Participantbut still, flashbang and smoke grenades are so incredibly difficult to land a kill with, 30+ points a pop for them
