At the meeting we were discussing on how to run the Mario Kart Wii tournament. When no one knew any good settings I asked in general who all actually wanted to play the game as a tourney and the result was none. So we took a vote to replace it with another game that had more interest and that was Guitar Hero III. Voting for games at the club meeting allows me to see which games have a lot of interest and serve as a guideline as to what games are popular. It’s not like we just go later and pick whichever games we want we still go by the votes at the club meeting. So all this comes down to was that Guitar Hero is a better tournament game than Mario Kart and there was no interest in it at all at the console meeting.

Sorry guys I couldn’t get enough people to bring any other consoles so it’s gonna be just the wii stuff again. Hopefully next time I’ll get some more support on the matter.

Honestly I just need to see how people respond to a Smash Teams Tournament at the LAN based off of what I was told the Club would allow (even though I would prefer a few changes, which I will bring up later). From what I’ve heard from different people that online support for the PS3 isn’t that great yet so it’s easier to do it with the xbox. Also, I really don’t see the point in doing CoD4 for the PS3 just for the sake of having a PS3 being used for a tourney it would just take up more space and/or cause a lot of switching out consoles and TV’s just to have the tourney run on PS3. This wouldn’t have been an issue for a game like SC4 because we’d only need two PS3’s and two extra TV’s. If we were to do it for CoD4 we’d need at least 6 PS3’s and then 6 extra TV’s or unhook all the xbox’s hook up all the PS3’s and then do it vice versa once the tourney was complete.
My suggestion for this LAN is to get 2 or 3 PS3’s setup and have multiple free play games to get more people interested in it. The best game I’m seeing right now for it is Soul Caliber 4. Also are there any good racing games for the PS3? Or does anyone have Virtua Fighter 5. If anyone has these or something else they’d like to see at a LAN I suggest they bring them.
Also last time on the PS3 for free play I saw they same like 5-6 people playing the PS3 constantly, this isn’t what a LAN is for as it does not let multiple people enjoy the consoles. I don’t want that this time so if you are gonna bring any kind of console for free play I suggest you be prepared to let everyone use it and not just a select few. If you don’t think that you can handle it then don’t bother bringing the console because I won’t spare a TV for those who think that everyone wants to sit there and watch just you play.

Having a Smash event is great and all but someone should organize a mini 360 lan too. Or even just have them at the same time like we did last semester.

Pit is pretty freaking awesome I’d have to say. Snake, although a complete *edited*ing joke, is pretty fun to play with. Once the fight heats up just drop a mine and then wait for an unsuspecting victim(s), heh heh heh KABOOM! Meta Knight is great fun too and well all the characters are pretty fun to play with and fight against except *edited*ing Lucas. That up smash haunts me in my dreams.
