It’s worth buying if you don’t already have all the d/l maps for Halo multiplayer since it comes with it on the disc.

We need more details Kaz. Are they providing the TV’s and such? I MAYBE can do this, I’ll have to ask Daniel and Freezer to help out but we have enough equipment. Don’t give them any definites just ask what they are providing.

On a side note this would mean I wouldn’t be able to make it to the meeting. But it might be worth it since SGA will owe us.

Really lag? There shouldn’t be any lag considering you are at Western.

No, you don’t understand Shingi. Western’s servers have horrible shot registry and the lag is unbearable. Even though there’s plenty of extra CPU power and ram with an array of *edited* fast hard drives on an unmetered and uncapped 1Gbit connection to a 600Mbit internet connection.

    Totally the server’s fault…

People are still complaining about the shot registry in CSS and it’s at 100tick.

Thank you for clearing that up for me Mitch. Oh how could I have been so naive.

Starting out with a BR is more balanced and fair since it gives a good, solid midrange weapon off the spawn. It gives the opportunity to ward off snipers and rocket-wielders in the event of a potential spawn kill.

However, starting with a BR doesn’t mean MLG settings. MLG maps are going to have weapon and power-up spawns not familiar to most players, thus giving an unfair advantage to a small few.

Exactly. That’s why I’m combining the aspects of both so it’s even.

That’s because you play MLG on a regular basis. I’m thinking about the majority of people who play at the tournaments.

4v4 if possible but if not we may do 3v3 or 2v2. This all depends on the number of equipment we have.

I already know how I want to line up the Console tournaments. But you’re saying that I should talk to the PC VP and try and setup a time table that will complement both sides of the LAN?

In the past it was worked out as a group with between the execs and CLs so that the games that pull people from the other side fall between times for the other side. If nothing else make sure the major PC tournament falls during one of the lesser console tournaments and vice versa, that way the people who want to play the big tournaments for both can.

I will keep that in mind then. Thanks for the advice Mitch.

I was kind of confused when we didn’t stay after the meeting to make a time line but I’m guessing Kaz-Ka is gonna do that later.

It’s not up to Kaz-ka, or at least it’s traditionally not been. The VPs should figure out the tournament time requirements for each game and get together and schedule them so they line up together.

You are right about the RTS though one round can easily take 30-45 minutes to do. It may have to be an all day tournament which means people will have to take the risk of just playing Warcraft III and nothing else.

That’s why whenever we’ve done them in the past they’ve always been unofficial tournaments. There’s no way to schedule regular gameplay around them, especially once you get a few good players matched up. It’s like trying to play smash bros and PC tournaments at the same time. It works out for a while but eventually you have to pick one and forfeit the other, unless you lose early on :( .

It might have to end up being just one tournament that it allotted more time than the others. Yes it takes more time but that way no one has to give up a tourney.

    I haven’t seen any.

In the past they’ve always been posted within 24 hours of the meeting. I always had it done before we left the meeting.

My fear is that throwing in an RTS means no timetable will be stuck to. The last time we did Starcraft, well, things took a while. A long while. And that was with only like 8 people playing. And a highly experienced player running it.

I was kind of confused when we didn’t stay after the meeting to make a time line but I’m guessing Kaz-Ka is gonna do that later.

Suggestion, only buff the Halo player movement speed settings. I think buff it to 110% or whatever MLG uses. It won’t effect game play a whole lot, but strafing will be better plus game movement should pick up too.

I will definitely test it out. I’ve also been thinking that I’m going to have everyone start with a BR and an AR. That way you can use the weapon you are more comfortable with.
