Yea, it was a great turnout (which made me really happy). I hope that me and EYCE didn’t discourage anyone from wanting to play again though lol. As a matter of fact, I have an idea on how to help people get use to the game.

yea, if we do have SC IV at the next LAN (which Im hoping we do) we will definitely have to push its time back. i suggest that maybe we should do it sometime later because the Wii and PS3 tournaments were over around 7:30-8:00, leaving us about 3 hours for free play. We could use some of that time for a tournament that should be pushed back (like SC IV or maybe something else).

Who cares, this should be a dead issue. The LAN is over, the lesson is learned, and everyone had fun! :D

Sweet, I love to hear that. As far as the Vader thing goes, we will see if people have an issue against fighting him at the next LAN because if they dont, he’ll be legal to use. The only reason I said he was not this time was because he was console specific to the PS3 and I figured people would be *edited*ed if they lost to him since the 360 SC IV people never have really fought against Vader. But again, we’ll see what people think about him being legal at the next meeting.

I could probably bring something Friday, I just remebered that I have class from 11-4:50 tomorrow. If I get out of class early today I can try to bring my Wii.

Naw, im not a cheap *edited* vader or apprentice player. Hell I might even use Vader or Apprentice and show off how much i suck with them lol.

Yea, we changed our minds. We figured that you would have to literally play that game all day every day for a month to get insanely good with The Apprentice and Darth Vader. If I see some cheap stuff at the LAN with these two and it gets out of hand, they will be banned next time.

I’m not trying to affend anyone or *edited* anybody off but this has been blown out of proportion. We are not trying to segregate the club and make it a Console vs. PC thing because PC gamers are no less or more important than Console gamers. One of the main reasons that Mario Kart Wii was taken out as a tournament is because only one person at the Console meeting had a copy of it and no one else there had even played it before. And the only person on the forums that has even said they had the game besides Ephiram was Nickname which is saying something. A funny thing about this is the fact that the only people that have been complaining about this have not even offered to help bring a copy of the game for free play or even if it was reinstated as a Wii game, so why defend a game that you claim is so great and yet you do not even own a copy of it? Yea, Mario Kart Wii may be selling more right now than Guitar Hero III or Soul Calibur IV but you have to look at it from our point of view, we know more than two people that are willing to bring these games to the LAN and use them for the tournaments. And we know that Mario Kart Wii recieved more votes at the meeting but Guitar Hero III was only 2 votes away from it, so why is this such a big deal? Because it’s not in the Constitution? Have you ever considered that the votes at the Club Meetings could be used to gauge what will and will not work at the LAN? Just because a game gets 2 less votes than another game does not mean it will fail at the LAN.

No one has even brought up the fact that they have the game at the Smash miniLANs because all they care about is Smash lol. Its like you guys said earlier, if they cared about Mario Kart, they would have shown up to the meeting (the console meeting) to try to lend a helping hand. And as far as Brawl goes it’s definitley still going to be at the LAN unless I missunderstand what your saying. As a matter of fact, one of the key discussions we are going to have soon is a Brawl Teams Tournament.

And as far as the polls go, it could be put on the registration sheet and made manditory that way we actually get mroe imput for the LANs.

Yea, I understand about people not wanting to fill out the polls and the fact that some people are upset but honestly, the only person at the meeting that actually had a copy of Mario Kart at the meeting was Ephiram. I don’t anyone else who does (besides Nickname I believe) that has it and that is an issue that influenced our decision at the Friday meeting. Its kind of hard to run a tournament if you dont know for a fact that people will actually bring the game.

So your going to tell me that the people who come to the LANs, the people that we get our money from to help run the this dont matter if they show up to one meeting? Thats just plain ignorance to me.

Honestley I dont see what the big deal is all about, its not like the games choosen over Mario Kart had virtually no votes. And another thing, just because it did not have more votes at the first meeting does not mean that it will be any less popular because everyone that shows up at the LAN does not show up to the meetings. We are also gonna be handing out surveys to the people who come to see what the most popular games really are on campus, that way we can see what the people who show up to the LANs actually like instead of just restricting the games to voting at the meetings that half of the people at the LAN will not show up to anyway.

I figured Id go ahead and throw out there the fact that Darth Vader and The Apprentice will not be banned because honestly, it would take a LONG time to be insanely cheap with them. Algol is still up in the air, if anyone has any suggestions about more SC IV rules or Smash for that matter let me know.

Its still not too late to hold a SC4 tournament at the LAN to be honest. The Smash tournaments were first thrown together at the LAN. Get someone to run it and put together the people, have an exec call it out on the mic and then have everyone sign up on a piece of paper, draw up brackets, etc. I’m sure many people actually want to play and would love to play in a tournament, the only downside is that the club wouldn’t be able to give any prizes for it as it isn’t a club supported tournament yet. If you draw enough people, it very well could turn out to become one though :)

Yea, I might actually see about doing that since it recived a good amount of vote at the meeting last week.
