SpectatorOne issue that lies is their is no constitutional position of consul P and VP, or any rule set on how they operate. Thus people are unsure how the “power” system ranking should be. as it is now, knowone is in the wrong, as their are no rules. “officially”.
My question is what is the difference between a consul council leader, and a consul president? i totally just confused myself

SpectatorThe idea was to give them the power to create their own committee. That way they had more people helping them do what they felt needed to be done. It was not formed to override meeting votes by segregating part of the club to sway them.

SpectatorI’m not trying to affend anyone or *edited* anybody off but this has been blown out of proportion. We are not trying to segregate the club and make it a Console vs. PC thing because PC gamers are no less or more important than Console gamers. One of the main reasons that Mario Kart Wii was taken out as a tournament is because only one person at the Console meeting had a copy of it and no one else there had even played it before. And the only person on the forums that has even said they had the game besides Ephiram was Nickname which is saying something. A funny thing about this is the fact that the only people that have been complaining about this have not even offered to help bring a copy of the game for free play or even if it was reinstated as a Wii game, so why defend a game that you claim is so great and yet you do not even own a copy of it? Yea, Mario Kart Wii may be selling more right now than Guitar Hero III or Soul Calibur IV but you have to look at it from our point of view, we know more than two people that are willing to bring these games to the LAN and use them for the tournaments. And we know that Mario Kart Wii recieved more votes at the meeting but Guitar Hero III was only 2 votes away from it, so why is this such a big deal? Because it’s not in the Constitution? Have you ever considered that the votes at the Club Meetings could be used to gauge what will and will not work at the LAN? Just because a game gets 2 less votes than another game does not mean it will fail at the LAN.

SpectatorLogic works, thanks for some common sense Kaz-Ka! TBH there are only 3 people that I think are completely sold on the Mario Kart Wii idea, only one of which actually owns the game, let alone even a Wii possibly? This is a idiotic conversation, the decision has been made and yet the horse continues to be beaten. I already told you if you think Mario Kart Wii will be more successful than SC4 then bring people to the LAN set up a tournament and show me the numbers, otherwise stfu because right now neither one of us is right more than the other. We have played xbox games and wii/gamecube games in every single tournament since consoles came to the LAN, this gives the PS3 an opportunity to get its feet wet and test the waters.
These guys play consoles much more than we do I trust their opinions over any of the normal PC players any day, Mitch you barely play any games at all as far as I know, again this comes down to how can you possibly assume you know?

And so it ends? Lets not beat this horse anymore…You ignored votes from the general meeting where one game clearly got more votes than another. Doesn’t the constitution say it’s your job to ensure that voting is done accurately? You continue to fail as president. So begins the end…

SpectatorLOL I am so glad you brought that up shall we look into the past at how many times you “fixed” votes?
Let’s not get into bickering as President you and I both know well that we can make an executive decision if we think it is necessary, this is what I did, I didn’t try to hide it, I didn’t go behind peoples back’s I came right out and said it. When have you ever done that before without a little bit of coercion first? As long as no one questions you then you never say a thing, thus your problem with me, I ALWAYS question you!
Really I find it in very poor taste that all you can do is be negative and say I can’t run this club, give me some positive criticism and I will listen to you, but if all you can do is flame me, I really have no interest in hearing what you have to say.
There are only two people in this club, oh wait I am sorry are you a club member again now? I don’t want to say the wrong thing since last I heard you were “pretty much done with the gaming club”? Well assuming you are you and one other person are the only people who are publicly negative about the things I do. I encourage people that have an issue with how I handle things to tell me a better way to do it, and let them back up their answers logically, instead of just flaming me for the decisions I make. I will never run the club the way you did, I am not you. I am not perfect and never will claim to be, I make the decisions I have to based on what I have learned from the past and recent activity from the community. On the surface I can only tell that everything is fine, we had more members at a meeting than there ever was in the past, I focus on the ultimate goal of the club not the little intricacies here and there that all in all are not really that important. I am not belittling the clubs rules, I am merely stating that at times you seem to focus on little things that should not be of the highest concern. So we chose to play one game over another at the LAN, is this really something to be tearing down walls about? Will this effect the amount of people that come to the LAN to play and have fun, no I don’t think it will, I hope it will increase numbers.
I digress, my mind has ran on long enough and I feel as if this will probably fall on dead ears as usual, I can’t help but reach out to a person who was at on point in time pretty important to me only to have my hand cut off yet again. So there, I laid myself bare for you, shall I turn over so you can whip me more?

I do believe I was, in fact, right about how much I knew and to your own admition have done a much better job than you assumed I would. Even with the more recent changes I warned against, my “assumptions” have always been right.
Take how many times my “assumptions” about PC gaming and the club in general have been right so far and weigh it with how many times I’ve been wrong. I do believe one is greater than the other.
And contrary to popular belief, I do in fact own a Wii and play it and XBOX360 games quite regularly.

SpectatorGood then I stand corrected, I only had assumed you did not know or play that much often, you always complain about how busy you are with your job.
This is consoles however and on that front you have proven nothing to me, I don’t mean this to be offensive it is just a fact, there is no person that doesn’t have to prove something to me if they claim things the way you do. You may have been right on some things but you were not right on everything. I give you credit where credit is due, but with this it another one of those where I don’t really know how much you know, so all I can say is don’t tell me what you can do, show me.

As for proving myself or predictions in regards to consoles, well, hopefully you’ll prove them all wrong and it’ll be a great success. I parade my opinion with high regard because history has shown that I’m right more than wrong in this sort of thing, not just here but in most of the clans and communities I’ve been in. Some of them are no longer running because they ignored my opinions and “assumptions” on critical decisions; 1 league, 3 clans, and a community to be exact. All of which I tried to save and none of which cared to listen. I doubt I’ll be adding any more communities to the list anytime soon but bear in mind I’m trying to keep you off the downward slope, nothing more and nothing less.
So before you click the reply button to flame my comments bear in mind that I’ve seen most of this before. WCU may be based around RL but it still follows the same rules and guidelines as any other online community and as such is vulnerable to the same weaknesses, deathnails, and poor decisions. Most of the failures I’ve seen in the past all started with a single decision, compromise, or alliance that didn’t seem like a big deal to most but later stuck out like a sore thumb as the first domino to fall.

SpectatorI tend not to be on the flaming side of things, I appreciate your concern on issues in the club and your opinions do not go unheard, remember it is how you present your opinions that is important. It was not long ago that we turned someone away from Source admin because of his “high and mighty” attitude, which at times whether on purpose or not, you sometimes present. I merely ask you to be aware of this when posting and bring real problems to me in a way that doesn’t come off as I know more than you, your an idiot. Contrary to what Kuros thinks I am not an idiot nor am I retarded.

Spectatorhaha i didnt realize you were the pres bitey haha. This whole time i was like who the heck is bitey he is awesome hahahaha. and i agree with what you say. I dont think i would have a problem with MP if he just didnt have such an omnipresent attitude towards everything thats going on. I should’ve just realized everything he said would be right no matter what and we all would be wrong….

SpectatorWhats done is done, Nothing is changing it for this LAN. This has already been stated. MasterP is probably just worried about the slippery slope.
So my question is: For the next time voting goes around for consuls whats going to happen?
- Are the consuls going to just have their own meeting to decide the real votes? And at the general meeting they are taking votes for popular games to be voted on later on at their meeting?
- Are we going to just have the voting like we have alsways have at the general meeting for the consul games.
- or some other plan?
Prob best to talk this over with the consul P and see what they wont to do. but we cant not be having this voting things twice again.
and hopefully no more

SpectatorJust want to reiterate that they did not change the entire line up of games to be played, only one game was substituted for another. I only think in extreme cases will this actually happen.

They replaced 2 games (that both tied for 5th most votes) with a game that tied for 7th most and a game that got the 9th most votes
September 16, 2008 at 1:47 pm #56946Bitey
SpectatorThank you for that clarification, 4 of the 6 games remain as the ones originally voted in, however people still voted a lot for those games I still believe the popularity will be best, I am saddened by the loss of Wii and did advise against this. But I am open to trying new things, if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work and we go back to what it was, it is ok to try small new things, big changes cause problems but it is easy to go back from a small change.

September 16, 2008 at 3:47 pm #56965Bitey
SpectatorAnd therein lies my point, we aren’t losing anything by trying one new game over another, we are losing a bit with Wii Bowling, I thought those tournaments were pretty successful but we will just see how it works out, this is how we learn.
