SpectatorGod, I am still reeling from last nights Soul Calibur IV tournament, what an ending to it! What really amazes me is the fact that 30 some people played in it, which made me VERY happy since it was the first ever PS3 version of a game to be played at the LAN. I just hope the same people will want to play it again next time. Oh, and for those of you who do not know, we play Soul Calibur IV at the Smash mini-LANs on Saturdays so if you want to learn how to play and get a feel for the game, come on down, me and EYCE love teaching people how to play. Its a lot of fun!

SpectatorI had a great time playing at the LAN. Little dissapointed in the no Vader rule, but I get to play Cervantes still so no big deal.
I’ll be voting for it to be held at the next LAN!

SpectatorSweet, I love to hear that. As far as the Vader thing goes, we will see if people have an issue against fighting him at the next LAN because if they dont, he’ll be legal to use. The only reason I said he was not this time was because he was console specific to the PS3 and I figured people would be *edited*ed if they lost to him since the 360 SC IV people never have really fought against Vader. But again, we’ll see what people think about him being legal at the next meeting.

SpectatorThis was an excellent turnout for our first ever SCIV tournament, I’m very impressed. I’m glad I got to fight some skilled players, but I’m equally glad that new players decided to enter the tournament and have fun. I hope nobody was discouraged from entering again because of me and Kazka; it must look a little fishy that the organizers of the tournament got to fight each other in the finals, but I assure everyone that the bracket was truly randomized. I encourage everyone that entered to attend our Saturday gaming meets, whether to practice with Kazka and I or simply to hang out and have some fun.
And about the Vader issue, there were actually quite alot of 360 players entered in this tournament. From what I could gather, less than half of the entrants were PS3 users, and all of my opponents during the tournament (with the exception of Kazka) were 360 users. I’m all for Vader/Yoda being legal in the tournament, but ONLY once(or maybe ‘if’) they become downloadable content on the opposing systems.
And please, no complaining about Yoda either, his only advantage is that he can’t be thrown, and high/mid horizontal attacks can’t hit him while he’s on the ground (he does jump to high/mid range for almost all of his attacks).
Other than that he’s reeeally slow, and reeeally weak. I had 3 Yodas fight me last night at the after party, and none of them came close to winning (and remember, Asta’s one of the worst matches to fight Yoda, being that nearly all of his damage/combos derive from throws or attack throws). …of course, those three had never played Yoda before, and were likely intoxicated. But yeah, I really enjoyed this LAN, and look forward to the next.

SpectatorYea, it was a great turnout (which made me really happy). I hope that me and EYCE didn’t discourage anyone from wanting to play again though lol. As a matter of fact, I have an idea on how to help people get use to the game.

SpectatorI’m hoping we get more SC4 players at the Saturday event, so we can both help people out. I’d start a Q&A thread here, but barely any of the players even visit the forum.
