Thanks to all for their suggestions, but quite frankly, I do get a chance to play most of the time, just not always when I exactly want to play. That’s not much of an issue for me, and I’m not going to go around *edited*ing off everyone else because I can’t get good pings for a computer game. Their torrenting doesn’t bother me when I’m surfing the internet, so, I’m not going to make a big deal out of it.
Hey Peanut, I actually found one at a best buy near me, and just opened the package and have been trying it out today. It was the Razer Deathadder, and it was on sale for $52.

I’ve found the problem, we have a few tenants who torrent for as a hobby…
When they finish their school work or w/e, they torrent, and it *edited*s my ping. I found out after I went to one of their rooms to run speedtest.net(to see if there was something wrong with my Ethernet plug, and he was torrenting massive amounts of stuff over azureus.
Yeah, what you said about me flying around the map while defusing was the thing that concerned me most, since that really shouldn’t be happening.
Any way I can fix this?

Huh. I just finished DLing it yesterday, but when I ran it, it tells me that they were unable to sync my data or something like that, and I looked for servers, but couldn’t find any : /

I had a similar problem, but for me it was CS 1.6 and CS:S.
I found out that it was actually due to this update that Steam issued, but I think it was fixed in the latest update. It affect computers with Dual Core Processors.
I had a great ping, and normally, my fps was 60. But after the June update, it dropped to 5-15. After an update last week, it’s back to 60 again.
Issue has been resolved.
Turns out it was the funky-*edited* June Steam update that screwed things up, mainly for computers with Intel Dual Core processors.
I just stared at Elaine’s avatar for 15 minutes.

I’ve still been kinda away from CS:S because of it, but I actually adjusted my rates, and the gameplay was much smoother. I still got really bad framerates when I fire and/or look directly at an explosion.
But yeah, hopefully, this problem will magically go away soon.

The above aside, has everyone here noticed a slight decrease in FPS/framerate since a recent steam update? Because I asked a friend, and he told me he had the same issue as I did… a sudden FPS decrease on CS:S.
@ Kuros: I’d buy it, except this is a laptop. >.<
@ Nodice: I’m not experiencing any of the problems they listed though…
@MasterP: I’ve never had perfect framerates with CoD4, and I’m running it in way lower resolution than CS:S(CoD4 at 960×480 and CS:S at 1280xsomething), but the framerates are still much better.
But, regardless, I’ve deleted the local content of CS:S, and am redownloading it now.
I can use prtscn, but it’s rather laggy, often, it saves in .bmp format.
Also, it would involve me alt-tabbing out ever single time to Paste it into paint.
PS: Does camstudio take screenshots?
