Thanks for the very quick replies! I think I will probably just stick with PC then. No need to drop the cash on a new console.
Hey everyone, a few questions:
1. Any difference between PC and xbox?
-I don’t have an xbox, and was looking at this game. I have been on the fence about getting a new console, but I think I will be building a new rig this winter, so I was just curious.
2. Can you pair up cross platform?
There have been issues with the Student upgrade, particularly the ones from that website (can’t remember the name), but a new iso has been released that fixes the problem.
Also, this was completely different from the “Upgrade” for $30 – as the kid got a full retail version of Win7 Pro – it came with 2 DVDs, one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit. All for $30.00 – damnit, I should have done it. I thought I was fine, but the DVD I had was only 32-bit. I am trying to get a 64-bit one now, but we will see. You might still want to try calling, if you want full, and not upgrade (if there is in fact any difference).
I didn’t read all this random stuff, but I saw D1 – you put that on the rotation and I will come and burn the server!!!! (j/k) but seriously, no, absolutely not. – maybe for a fun night, but not in the rotation.

Just to be clear – I did not ban PK. Someone banned pk about an hour before I joined the server. While I was playing, for about 15 minutes PK was trying to join with names like:
Hey Peanut
Peanut unban me
My ban was only supposed to be 30 minutes
And things similar to that. I didn’t ban him for spamming the server, I have no idea why he was banned in the first place. I was just following up in the threads because he was spamming the server DURING his ban. We have a ban appeal process, and we have a forums – which pk is active on.
To Hitz, pk went beyond just getting banned. He continued to harass admins and the server after his ban was in place. I don’t think you understood the full situation, as you wrote: “He understood his ban was for 30 minutes for spamming the server” – unless he was originally banned for spamming (which I don’t know), what I was writing about was what he was doing during his ban. However, if he was banned for 30 minutes for spamming the server, and then proceeds to spam the server for 15 minutes, during a ban, well I don’t see why that shouldn’t be upgraded to a more serious ban.
Also, if you are a WCU student, it looks like you can get Vista Ultimate for $15 (DVD). Might mean you can get Windows 7 Pro for that much once it is released. I know my brother-in-law was able to get Windows 7 Professional from his university for $10, like 3 weeks ago. Full Version, no restrictions.

Let’s have an objective for jugg… if he reaches a certain area he wins. This way he doesnt’ have to kill everyone to win, also it will stop the jugg from sitting in a corridor or corner and wasting everyone with paras. Seems like it would become a modified Vippy mod – which isn’t a bad idea. As is, vippy only gets usp and extra armor – right? So this is just mass health, and he is all alone – no support. Unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to play this yet – so -1 for me, going against the rules of the thread, but post up for the next time you think this will run.
I used to be pretty good at getting the hosties, with a nice rush. But i seemed to have lost my touch. Back-up is always nice.
It really shouldn’t be a problem, the wcu map. Just call it university or something. Don’t use any logos from campus (like the names of buildings or the campus banner). That way you shouldn’t run into any problems. The layout should be able to be the same without any problems at all.

As yahoo said, its cs_747, but its a hostie map, not a VIP map. as_Tundra was mentioned before, and looks really nice in source, although it is not the same layout as the original. That is a VIP map.
Did they every make cs_backalley as a source map?
But in terms of VIP maps, i think oilrig and tundra were the top two back in the 1.3 days or so (maybe on to 1.6 as well, but i haven’t played 1.6 very much since source was released).
I think this is a great idea, if it can be implemented. However, I don’t think there is that much of a population problem now with the semester in full swing.
Could we do a weapon vote at the beginning of each round? Just 4 or 5 random weapons, people select it, it gives it, and then that is all there is for the round. Would that be possible?
So it looks like it is A tundra, not the same one that i remember, but it has some really nice ice features in it. we should at least try it out.

OMG OMG OMG OMG That would be soooo cool. Anyone know if they made as_tundra into a Source map? That was a leet vippy map. But oilrig would be sweet.

So yeah, f-em about the lag. We have a kicker that deals with you if you exceed the limits. No need to take a break. People *edited* and moan about people who lag, and then kill em, whatever, its part of the problem with such a broad spectrum game. Just because you are part of the community doesn’t mean you have to take a break because someone asks/tells you to. I’m sure there are people that play on this server, and plenty of other ones, regularly, and they have horrendous lag. If you can only get on sometimes due to limits within your system, whatever, enjoy your time when you can actually get on.
Also, I think you were fine any time we went up against each other last night, so no worries. If it was happening, it was more sporadic than constant.

If this isn’t resolved in about a month, I can buy it for you, and have it shipped directly to you, and you can send me the cash, as I live in Houston. You would have to find one online that you want, but I would most likely be willing to do this. But I have to wait for a few paychecks to clear, and I rise up out of the goo that is “not having enough money on hand that the present time”
