Again, let me talk to Caldwell about funding before we jump to do this. You might want to also poke your head into Keith’s office and remind him about the server. I’ve been on him all summer and not really getting anywhere. Now that the new budget is in he should at least be able to give you a straight answer on how our prospects are.

that’s a really nice way to say he’s an idiotIf you can get paid to speak your mind for 4 hours a day, and get paid *edited* good, I’d think that was a pretty ideal job. His ratings say that’s he’s not an idiot.
Like all commentators you have to take what he says at face value and do your own research in areas you really care about but I’ve found the topics he hits and the strength he hits them with are drastically different than what the mainstream news is going at.
His research staff is usually pretty top notch too.

who the hell is Glenn Beck and why are people boycotting him? He’s someone that’s made a killing by simply speaking his mind and when you really think about it the questions he asks on his program aren’t being asked by anyone else.
I’m not the least bit surprised that the companies controlled by or in league with liberal unions are pulling advertising on Glenn’s show. He routinely digs up dirty little secrets and exposes the widespread political connections that these unions have. Like *edited*roaches hate light, unions hate having their secrets exposed to the American people so they’re doing everything they can to shut him up.
Unfortunately for them, with or without advertisement revenue, his ratings are extremely high for a couple month old show. Eventually they’ll come back to the table simply for their own monetary gain. Oh and keep in mind that no one has mentioned his radio program, I imagine the advertising revenue for that remained untouched.

ParticipantI’ve previously used Mandrake and Fedora so I have to recommend options 2 and 4.
Ubuntu is extremely popular although I’m not really sure why as, like you said, it looks extremely boring on fresh install. Guess they like it because it fits best with the linux mandate that you have to force or trick your OS into doing what you want instead of it doing it by default.

The casual LANs would be open for console players AND PC players.Push this point. PC players don’t really get to play console competitively at the LANs and many of us would really like to if given the opportunity.

at least o’reilly’s show isn’t losing advertisers unlike his coworkersAs much as some may hate him, his ratings are through the roof compared to his competitors in that time block. I think the rule of thumb is during the 8-9pm block he has more viewers than ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC combined. Idk what shows they’re running but it’s been that way for a few years so they get a “fail” for not trying.

He didn’t watch the video for that. He was paying real close attention to find something wrong with O’Reilly.

ParticipantIf I’m not mistaken the faculty advisor for the anime club is Dr. Railsback. The guy’s 100% awesome so I can’t imagine any flexibilities issues with the new office, if there are just go talk with him and he’ll work something out with you guys.

ParticipantI love how they bash IE so much and push “faster alternatives”. I’m going to have to call BS on that one, especially if they’re referring to FF.
Anyway, they also mention netbooks. Wonder how good it would run on a 2GB netbook?

How are they both stupid questions?I didn’t say they both were, I said your first one looked like one. I guess it was.
Just like every other version of Windows there will be a handful of old or poorly coded programs that don’t work but 99.9% of them will transfer over just fine. They’ve integrated virtual machine technology to a point where any program that worked in XP will work in Windows7.
Pacsunn said:
AND A REAL answer for the features. That is the real answer. Short of a few backend upgrades and a new theme there’s virtually nothing new or groundbreaking in Windows7. In fact there’s some things Vista came with that that you’ll have to go download. Windows7 is Vista SP3 and you’d be hard pressed to find anyone who doesn’t at least partially agree.
Everyone’s making such a big deal out of Windows7 but that’s because the sheep that believed Vista was terrible are being tricked by another shepherd into believing Windows7 is great.

Is windows Vista programs compatable with windows 7???This seems like an extremely stupid question but I’m trying to think of a way for it not to be. Please give an example of a program your curious about.

And what are the coolest new feautures, that are not obviouse??The best feature it’ll have is that it’s NOT Vista. Seems pretty stupid but in reality that’s about all MS is shooting for. There’s a few extra “features” but nothing groundbreaking.

ParticipantGuys seriously. You all quit playing at the same time now you can all start again. Get on and try to populate it. Others shouldn’t have to message you when to join and we shouldn’t have to plan a “css night”.

ParticipantTime Warner does not block ports, it’s either your firewall or your router.
You could try posting the pics of your modem/router or sending them to someone that does this sort of thing for a living…
MasterP
ParticipantI see what you mean Josh. I think that could be easily fixed by having developers stop making PS2 ports of the newer games. Sure it sucks but every console has to die eventually and the way Sony sales have been going it’s looking like the PS2 will still be on store shelves on PS4 release day.
That’s not necessarily a bad thing but older generations need phasing out. Now that the PS3 is priced more competitively that’s more likely to happen but game devs have to abandon the console before the people will.

but backwards compatibility isn’t going to come with itKaz-Ka said:
actually mitch they can. all PS3s can.Now I’m REALLY confused…
But Josh it’s not intentionally hating. My understanding from other threads is that Sony intentionally took out the ability to natively play PS1/PS2 games so they could implement it differently (or sell it back) later. That would be like Nintendo taking away the gamecube compatibility after a few months of sales so they could release (or sell) a seperate “channel” for it later. Yeah in the end it might be nice but in the meantime the players who didn’t jump on the bandwagon from the start are kinda screwed. Everyone knows the console could easily play them and probably has the raw power to software emulate them, I guess it’s just taboo to discuss it…
I just think it hurts you guys is all I’m saying. I think that’s something Sony should invent a time machine to go back and redo that whole thing differently.
Btw, integration with TVs is a sexy feature.

Egocentric is assuming that everyone else should pay for your illnesses. What gives you the right to have your healthcare paid for by me?
MasterP
ParticipantBy the way, those “death panels” that “didn’t exist” were just removed from the bill. So nice that conservatives have been berated and dragged through the mud over this because “it doesn’t exist” when in fact it did exist. Kind of makes you wonder what else they’re saying about this might be true…
One of the Finance Committee’s own members commented that “We dropped end-of-life provisions from consideration entirely because of the way they could be misinterpreted and implemented incorrectly.”
That same member also noted “The bill passed by the House committees is so poorly cobbled together that it will have all kinds of unintended consequences, including making taxpayers fund healthcare subsidies for illegal immigrants” and said that the end-of-life provision in those bills would pay physicians to “advise patients about end-of-life care and rate physician quality of care based on the creation of and adherence to orders for end-of-life care.”

ParticipantYou can also type
[.quote name=Kip’ date=’Aug 18 2009, 02:28 PM’ post=’88575]TEXT
Exclude the .
date and post are extra and not needed
You can also quote inside of quotes using the same method and daisying them. This is helpful for maintaining the context when you reply to someone who’s replying to another quote, you can get the whole conversation.
