Sounds like a good idea. If you could throw in a message that said “The AWP cannot be purchased two rounds in a row” whenever they tried it, that might help with confusion. I would also suggest making it two lives in a row if possible. This way people can’t just buy the AWP repeatedly even if they are surviving at least one round.

Making the betting system irrelevant is a legit reason for not having 16k. The question is do the benefits it provides out-way this. I don’t feel like reposting my arguments from previous threads, but I believe having imbalances in money between two sides is, overall, a bad thing for public servers. This being said, plenty of people in some of the other 16k servers I play in still go around with deagles. Why? Because they enjoy using it. Having 16k doesn’t mean you can’t use cheaper guns. It just means you have your choice out of all the guns. If you choose to buy an AK instead of an UMP, because you want a better shot of actually getting kills, you’re just proving the fact that 16k makes people happier. If it wasn’t a 16k server, you might not have had that choice, you might have been forced to buy a less efficient weapon. You wouldn’t have gotten to play how you wanted to. $800 servers force people to play at a disadvantage. 16k servers allow people to choose if they want to play at a disadvantage or not. If you choose to play evenly, all you’re doing is supporting the logic behind 16k servers. The only exception to this is the first round, when both teams are forced to use pistols. Which can be easily simulated in a 16k server with warm-up rounds, which has already been suggested.

Having one thing in common to other servers isn’t instantly a bad thing. If I wanted to make a similar complaint I’d say “Allowing AK’s/M4’s made me leave… now it’s like every other server out there… It’s retarded…”
I don’t know why 16k gets such a bad rep. Especially considering no-one posts real arguments against it. It’s usually just “Ew not 16k that’s bad” or “16k?! but then people get to buy guns”. I think people are just opposed to change in general not 16k, and change is something they’ll have to get used to because the previous setup was not working. Just give it a shot, or post some logical argument for why it shouldn’t be there and prove me wrong.

AWP limits are AWP limits. Changing the server to 16k has nothing to do with this.
I think around four guys at my work have played the beta and only one likes it. Though apparently they are putting a lot of work into patching it. Some complaints I’ve heard from them are “No fps combat only 3rd person shooter combat”, “Space fights are fun at first but get repetitive very fast”, “Still needs a lot of work and I don’t want to pay money for it before they fix this *edited*”.
If you can’t find a place to stay at wcu, you can have the futon in my dorm ;]. It’s about 2 and a half hours away from wcu’s campus though.
I like the random jugg idea. Otherwise it ends up switching around between a few, while the other 18 never get to try it.

I read that games will be provided and that you have to have your own copy of pc games. If I don’t have to have a copy of pc games to play in the tourny where should I post to add the l4d tourny to my sign up?
@ MasterP, I’ll repeat, just because you dont’ have to provide demos doesn’t mean you shouldn’t. Relevant. Also I’m not sure how I’m supposed to know the innerworkings of the club if I don’t go to wcu and I’m not allowed to the lans. So yes I will make mistakes about who makes what rules and who’s in charge of what. If that’s sad to you then maybe you should post a thread explaining all of it so that people will know.
