ParticipantHere’s the info and signup page for the LAN.
lawlrence
ParticipantDo it! Gotta be able to play CS:GO when it comes out.
lawlrence
ParticipantHi Lemm! That’s too bad =/. Do you still go to the WCU LANs?
Will do MasterP. Those are the games we’ve tried to play for the past few LANs, but the attendance has been pretty low lately and sometimes we aren’t able to play a game. For example last LAN we only had two people for SC2.
lawlrence
ParticipantIs CS:S still played any at LANs? I want to come to the next one for some sc2 and hopefully CS:S freeplay. =]
lawlrence
ParticipantHow will the SC2 tournament work with that lag? I was thinking about driving down there for some freeplay css and sc2 but now I’m having second thoughts. =/

Participant+1 to what fascist said. Ambiguity in the rules like “I guess if its a really even match the first run through and it lasts a long time, then that can be considered the whole 3 matches” is a bad idea and will only cause problems. Everything he said is pretty standard for sc2 tourny play atm. I would just add that the beginning map should be lost temple or metalopolis and loser should pick after that. I’ve got a rule sheet for a sc2 tourny app is having this weekend if you want to look at that.

Brb, waiting for Obama or other liberals to fart in public so I can make a youtube video about it then a thread here stating they don’t like the air of said location they farted in, this causing controversy.
Someone’s sensitive

ParticipantHoN is not a new game. HoN is a stand-alone dota client. LoL is attempt at taking what worked from dota, and improving on that. LoL is a lot more fun than HoN and has a lot more potential for competitive play IMO. I also have beta keys for HoN available. If anyone wants one email me.

ParticipantThe ratios of liberals:conservatives combined with the results shows that people trust news stations that tell them what they want to hear. If you just show the results it sounds like one news station is more honest or pure.

Not everyone, just most of the ones on TV.
They are financially invested in the democrat party and will do their part in making the masses think any opposing group is retarded and racist/bigots. Granted Fox is the same way but 1 station is a far cry from the 5 with heavy liberal leanings, dispite the fact that Fox has the highest percentage of trust and lowest percentage of distrust of all the major stations. And the largest audience. And the only one to have a net gain of viewer trust in 2009.
Given that Fox is a conservative news station and the others are liberal. I think the fact that 39% of the people polled were conservative and 14% were liberal is relevant. If those numbers are correct then poll is a little light on the liberal side(it seems about 25% of the liberals got lost on the way). Care to share where you got those numbers? Also, Obama recieved 7% more of the popular vote than McCain so that’s a bit off too.
lawlrence
ParticipantThe point of the post was to let people know that 39% of the people in that poll considered themselves conservative where as only 14% considered themselves liberal. It seemed like a relevant piece of information that had been left out.

Could you be more specific?
I mean I could pull your politic affiliation from voter records, analyze your posts from this section, and make a vast array of educated guesses about your various “positions” but tbh I’d prefer spend 3 hours doing something else.
You said “This generic flame negates your argument as it both helps and hurts your position equally, leaving you back in the same position from which you started.”
I asked, “Care to elaborate on what my position is and how that hurts it?” I figured you had some idea in your head as to what my position was seeing as you’re claiming my posts hurt it. So, I asked you to elaborate.
You replied “You came up with that article and quoted from it, not me. I got the facts of the poll from a different source. Commentary by the pollsters is typically used to try to explain why they didn’t get the results they wanted.”
I don’t see how this answers my question at all.
lawlrence
ParticipantThat’s all very nice, but you didn’t touch on my question at all.

Ok so let’s focus on what you’ve posted.

“A generation ago you would have expected Americans to place their trust in the most neutral and unbiased conveyors of news,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “But the media landscape has really changed and now they’re turning more toward the outlets that tell them what they want to hear.”
In the context of the article you posted, this statement applies to democrats just as much as republicans. It is a general bash to say that democrats trust MSNBC and republicans trust Fox. This generic flame negates your argument as it both helps and hurts your position equally, leaving you back in the same position from which you started.
GG next?
Care to elaborate on what my position is and how that hurts it? Last two times you’ve guessed on my position you’ve been wrong.

ParticipantHere the link is in this article, http://rawstory.com/2010/01/poll-fox-trusted-news/
I love how whenever anything republican is criticized you try change the focus to how liberals are bad too. That is besides the point. This is not a thread about how liberals are bad. Stop trying to turn this into a thread about how liberals are bad. Go make a new thread on how liberals are bad.
Just because some other politician or poll is equally stupid/biased doesn’t mean we should ignore the one in front of us. I get that it’s convenient for both sides to redirect attention to the other whenever they do something stupid, but it just makes them look worse in the long run. And both sides definitely do it, just look at this thread. The only thing this accomplishes is hiding the mistakes of people who lead out country from the public, which is a *edited*ty thing to do out of contempt for some stereotype of the “opposing” party.

ParticipantI’d be there if I had money, but I don’t get my first paycheck until this upcoming monday.

ParticipantBattlefront makes me cry. You shoot people 20 times in the head with a sniper, their head knocks back every time, yet they take no damage.
lawlrence
ParticipantThe results of the other questions in that poll make it seem a little biased.

Also this made me lol,
“A generation ago you would have expected Americans to place their trust in the most neutral and unbiased conveyors of news,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “But the media landscape has really changed and now they’re turning more toward the outlets that tell them what they want to hear.”
lawlrence
ParticipantMayhaps you should post all of that poll.

Nice NuRayz, you figured out the ABC and CBS love asking vague questions and making republicans look stupid.
I would say I’m not surprised but I figured you wouldn’t have figured that out.
The only vague question that stood out to me in that clip was the Bush doctrine one. She says a lot of stupid things, period. Does this mean that all republicans are stupid? No. Does this mean that there aren’t equally stupid democrats? No. However, if you can’t admit her ineptitude at answering questions on her feet then you’re clearly biased. Also ABC and CBS are no where near as biased as Fox.
She also said alot of very smart things too. You won’t find any sort of balance or unbiased representation from a TPM video. Their own website states they’re left wing.
I mean if you want I can find a video of Obama making a complete idiot out of himself, sometimes even with a teleprompter, but that wouldn’t change your opinion that Palin is retarded and Obama is a genius on roids.
Actually I think Obama just makes a lot of empty promises, but sorry to ruin your idea that anyone who talks bad about republicans is an Obama loving democrat.

Who cares. This isn’t a thread about Obama’s failures.

You really want me to do your own research? Spend a few hours googling around, you’ll find it’s about as “scientific” as global warming.
By your logic, if you are taught evolution but have the right to not believe it then it should also be fair to teach creationism. Hey no one said you HAVE to believe it…
Spend a few hours time googling around and you can find someone saying ANYTHING.
http://www.alaska.net/~clund/e_djublonskopf/Flatearthsociety.htm doesn’t mean what they’re saying isn’t true…

So wait,
The server is better and reg seems fine, but stats are going back up regardless…? =X
PS. FYI, I’m a firm believer that stats does mess with the reg a bit on the server. You can troll me all you want, but I’ve noticed better accuracy on my part at least every time rank and stats went down over the past 8 months. I have also heard such an argument from other regular players.
Either way, I’ll be playing on the server, but I’m just giving my 2 cents.
inb4 “REG IS FINE NOOB”
REG IS FINE NOOB
Really though the reg has seemed as bad as always to me. But you can’t expect good reg on a pub server, and WCU has better reg than most pubs.
