ParticipantI played the demo and liked it. It’s different from the modern war games It’s the Unreal Tournament engine. Weapons and gadgets make this game fun to play. I don’t like the fact the the game will only host 18 players. The maps are a bit small but nice.
Homefront on the other hand is a kick *edited* game. If you have to choose between Crysis2 and Homefront, I’d go with Homefront. The game worked great on release. Something EA hasn’t been able to do with bc2 after 30 patches. PC mutiplayer games is my second job. Homefront turned out to be more than what anyone had thought. Crysis is fun and we’ll host a server for it. It’s different.

ParticipantI don’t know but wouldn’t it be more constructive if we were all on the same page?

ParticipantI’m playing the game and all I can say is that EA/Dice need to learn how to put a game out from these guys. The game plays flawless out of the box. It has better graphics than BC2 and Black Ops. It has a little of both BC2 and Black Ops but it’s also different. The maps are large and it mostly urban and suburban warfare. I like that there isn’t a bunch of armor around. You have to unlock and buy your armor. The game mode we’re playing (Ground Control) is a bit of Domination and Conquest (without the flags), Rush (without having to hold down the Use key) and WAR. The objectives move once they have been captured and uses the entire map well.
No Hit Box Problem. I repeat, NO HIT BOX PROBLEMS. What you shoot at, you kill. These little guys are equipped for battle. I also like the way you hit your sprint key once and sprint without having to hold it down.
I really like the game and it’s a refreshing change from the laggy BC2 servers with the hit box problems and all the other things that EA/Dice haven’t been able to fix after 30 patches. CPU usage never went past 60% with all the other programs I have running. BC2 and Black Ops pegged out my dual core at 100%.
This server will surely compliment your game variety.
I’ll be on your Vent server all day if anyone wants to join up

ParticipantI’m sorry I missed the competition. I couldn’t wait any longer. Some of us have to work but I did enjoy populating your 32 player bfbc2 Rush server yesterday. I was impressed on how easy it populated and stayed filled. I hope you guys can devote some time (every day) to ensure that the server continues to populate. It showed that it has the potential to be a very popular server.
From my chats with Dustin, it sounded like tonight was a success. Some one please post a review of the LAN party and I will check back later. Looking forward to the next party

We tested the 4v4 earlier tonight and it did well. Is the PB update being pushed through Steam? I didn’t have to update to get on it.
Also, all locally hosted servers are configured and ready.
PB will also update while you’re on the server, but it’s always best to do it manually so you don’t get kicked for Packet Loss if too many players are downloading at the same time.
Note; I just set up the 32 player (LeetServer) server. But i’m still at work so I’ll have to do the final touches when I get home.
ENJOY!

ParticipantOK folks, here it is
There are two BFBC2 servers running.
Both servers are called “WCU Gaming Club“.
One server is an 8 player Squad Rush server (4 vs 4). The other is a 32 player which can be set up to any game type. Either server can run as regular BFBC2 or BFBC2 Viet Nam.
Both servers are hosted out of Atlanta, GA.
Remeber to manually update PB at http://www.evenbalnce.com
Set you filters to PunkBuster and Ranked. All other filters should be set to “All”
Search for WCU in the All Servers list
The admin password is the same for both servers

ParticipantHomefront
Crysis2
Battlefield3
and we will host servers for all 3

ParticipantYour server is up and running. Server name “WCU Gaming Club”. Filters should be set (checked) to “PunkBuster and Ranked”.
Type “WBC” in the search bar and hit Search.
There is a new PunkBuster update so be sure you manually update your game. Go to http://www.evenbalance.com/ for update details.
The server is currently set to Squad Rush- 4 vs 4. If you decide you want to increase the players, Dustin can contact me and it should only take a few minutes.
ENJOY!

ParticipantI am ready to set up the server. Please tell me how many PCs you will have at the LAN. I need to know how many slots to set up, the rotation and game type/types as well.

Hey guys, one of the members from the sponsor DDD, has a facebook page that he is trying to promote. Lets help the guy out, hit “like” on his page to thank him.
Thank you Bobby
Actually, this is LeetServers FaceBook page and they’re the ones who are contributing the EA servers for your LAN parties. By clicking “Like” on the page you are automatically entered to win an EVGA GTS 450 video card every month. This is all they ask in return. So please try to get as many members to show their support. It’s easy. Just click on the link and hit “like”. That’s it

ParticipantWEW. Good news. I was thinking of bringing a girl. Glad to know I don’t have to let everyone else play with her too

I am getting homefront for sure. Saw the previews, saw the demo, and I like it alot. I hope it gets voted in next lan, I have a list of “things to do” to make sure the next lan is alot better since we have barely any sponsors… =/ I blame the public school systems for not giving people life instructions to people that “need them”.I think sponsors will be easier to get once your group becomes more active in the forums and activities such as the LAN parties. Most sponsors will get an idea of how active a group is by trolling visiting the website site and looking thru your forums.
The new (Multiplayer) games are a good way to get more and new people active in your group. Posting fliers around campus about a new game being released and where to get info about the server and LAN parties is a good start. You always need new blood and this is a good way to attract them.

The school’s internet provider is NCREN, basically a dedicated OC network that interconnects almost all the K-12, community colleges, and universities in NC. WCU has a dedicated OC12 pipe that hits the normal internet in Durham.
I just tried pinging some of leetservers’ test IPs and the latency to Atlanta should be acceptable for LAN gameplay. The average was around 30ms.
So you think Atlanta will be better than Virginia?
Geronimo
ParticipantI can enable the bfbc2 server in Atlanta or in Virginia. Tell me where you want it. You should make it password protected or you may find outsiders joining. Up to you.
Who is your internet server provider? This may help in determining the best location for the server. Keep in mind, the EA’s Master Server is located in Virginia.
Note: no need to worry about players. If you fall short I’m sure Dustin can come on vent and get some DDD guys there

ParticipantHi everyone. My name is Willi and I am the founder of DDD Gaming. Dustin approached me about hosting a BFBC2 server for an upcoming LAN party this weekend and I thought it was a good idea and told him we would. I also told him we would be more than happy to enable EA/DICE servers for other events in the future. You’re right about EA only permitting their games to be hosted by “Trusted Partners”. I think Dustin thought we would host this server from our Dedicated box which we had when the game was first released. We no longer use a Dedicated box to host our BFBC2 server. But we have a very good relationship with our provider “LeetServers” and the owner allows us to enable servers upon request. I have requested a BFBC2 server to be enabled for WCU Gaming to use this Saturday . The server name will be “WCU Gaming” and I will configure the server to your specs: Game type/types, max players, password protected (unranked), ranked (no password), with/without PunkBuster and map rotation along with any other request your group has.
Our BFBC2 server is called ! =DDD= ARMAGEDDON – RUSH – PBBans NY. We currently host BFBC2, CoD Black Ops and this month we’re adding Crysis2 and Homefront.
We also have a public Ventrilo server which your group is welcome to use any time. Feel free to check out our Website at http://ddd-gaming.net/
