ParticipantI know PC gamers are rejecting this fast and cancelling pre-orders in droves. It’s incompatible with some of the higher end video cards and the whole “Press start to begin” isn’t exactly a good omen with how well it was ported to PC.

Crysis is what it is because it was originally designed for PC. It was designed so that even 3 years later it would still be giving PCs a run for their money in terms of graphics requirements. When you take that mindset away, when you take a “be the best imaginable regardless of computing power” mindset and dumb it down to “be the best that today’s hardware can play well”, you lose what made the original so stunning and you definately don’t create something that gamers 3, maybe 4, years down the road are bragging that their computer can play.
I’m sure it’ll be “great” in the same way that MW2 was good little while and MoH was good for a little while. Will it be as good as the original and have staying power to last for years? Not if it was designed for XBOX and ported to PC and PS3. The PC version won’t even be shipping with DX11, which means the graphics engine can’t be much different than the original Crysis.
So to answer your question, no, I don’t think it’ll be great for consoles. It’ll be good for a few months but when Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 are released later this year Crysis 2 will fall to the wayside.

ParticipantI really hate how games are designed for the 360… such crap. Capitalism hurts sometimes.

ParticipantI played the demo and liked it. It’s different from the modern war games It’s the Unreal Tournament engine. Weapons and gadgets make this game fun to play. I don’t like the fact the the game will only host 18 players. The maps are a bit small but nice.
Homefront on the other hand is a kick *edited* game. If you have to choose between Crysis2 and Homefront, I’d go with Homefront. The game worked great on release. Something EA hasn’t been able to do with bc2 after 30 patches. PC mutiplayer games is my second job. Homefront turned out to be more than what anyone had thought. Crysis is fun and we’ll host a server for it. It’s different.

ParticipantLike Bad Company 2, it will be another one of those console ports that is horribly ported, but still plays better on the PC.
What made me laugh is the whole “We’ll patch DX11 in sometime after release” debacle.

ParticipantYeah you can’t just patch a new engine on the game. It doesn’t really work that way.
