EphraimParticipant1. I would not line up every single person in the Grand Room to get their names as it would be impractical and unneccesary. Most people were setting up equipment or playing games. The point of an attendance sheet is to get an accurate number of attendees. Number is of much higher importance than spelling.
2. Don’t you dare talk about me failing as Secretary. I am well aware of what the constitution says about the role of the Secretary. However, at every LAN I have been to, the Treasurer was the person in charge of the attendance sheet. I was not told that Nalgenie would be late. If I had, the sheet would have started earlier. Nalgenie had the sheet most of the night, so I directed those with complaints to her.
3. This is a 100% ridiculous argument. There is absolutely no point as there was no signifigant failure on anyone’s part. I made an innocent comment and eveybody starts jumping down my throat. I would like to officially apolgize to Bitey for an argument I had with him a month ago. I didn’t know you had to deal with this kind of thing.
EphraimParticipantPointless argument is pointless. Thread over.

Just thought I’d be part of the conversation.
EphraimParticipantI beat my personal best in the Smash tournament and I won a water bottle in the raffle. Technically, I won the Halo 3 tournament, but honestly, my teammates did most of the work. My main job was to not die.
All in all, one of the most enjoyable LANs I’ve been too.
EphraimParticipantWow, that NES tournie sounds like a cool idea.
EphraimParticipantI’m not changing any more names. The post has been edited enough. If your name got misspelled by myself or someone else, tough it out. My job is to record the winners; I did. An hour before the tournaments started, there was nobody taking money or attendance, so a non-member was recruited and I got to work. I ran around the room, jotting down who was there and who wasn’t. There were too many people to ask each individual attendee for correct spelling, so I had to guess a few. Further, when I received the completed list at the end of the event, there was a little note at the bottom which read “+ 7 others!” This accounts for the missed people. As I said before, don’t complain to me.
I don’t like being a hardass, but further complaints will result in post deletion.
EphraimParticipantIf anyone has issues with the attendance sheet, take it up with the Treasurer. You may also find it helpful to contact The WCU Gaming Club Complaint Department.
EphraimParticipantPersonally, I think we should call them LAN Parties. Event is too vague; Party conveys a sense of fun. Besides, most people call them parties anyway.
EphraimParticipantThe internet is full of such fascinating things.
EphraimParticipantWow. This is not what I expected. Mega Man 9 is the hardest game in the series by far. The game seems to be Capcom’s way of telling their fans “Skrew y’all. You aint bad. You aint nothin!” It’s like a whole different animal. In past Mega Man games, even if I had barely ever played it, I could usually get to the Boss within a few tries. This time, it took an hour just to get to the checkpoint regularly. There are parts in the game that seem designed specifically to *edited* the player off. But it isn’t so frustrating that it made me hate it. I kept coming back to the game after a break. Most Mega Man games could be beaten in abour two lengthy sittings. With this game, unless you have played through it at least once and are seriously hardcore, it’s going to take a couple of days.
The game is awesome. All the sprites and graphics look totally appropriate. Not only do they look like they come from an 8-bit Mega Man game, but at times they are very pretty (Galaxy Man’s stage in particular). As far as fun gameplay goes, its up there with the first three Mega Man games. The bosses are creative and interesting (I LOVE SPLASH WOMAN). They aren’t just the same boss with a different attack each time; they have unique movement patterns and often use the environment to their advantage. Also, the soundtrack is pure sex. Personal favorite, Galaxy Man’s stage.
Ten dollars might seem pretty steep for an 8-bit sidescroller, but they throw in some extras to give you more for your money. There is some downloadble content, which I haven’t really checked out yet. The acheivments (yes, acheivments) are pretty neat, but don’t really do anything.
In summary, if you don’t mind a challenge, you will probably enjoy this game. It’s great.

He’s not reviewing any video games. Only movies. I thought that was prety clear. And it started a week ago. Fail.
EphraimParticipantI had a toy car almost exactly like that when I was a kid. It never got pushed off anything with me inside, but still… fond memories.
EphraimParticipant‘Bout time. I was getting tired of this “hot” nonsense.
EphraimParticipantI just realized, I can probably bring a surge protector and a pack of AA batteries too!
EphraimParticipantI mean no offense, but is it right to ask people who may not be familiar with the club to register with the forums before they can attend an event?
It seems like a lot to ask. Wouldn’t the logical progression be: they attend our event, like what they see, then join the forums?
EphraimParticipantLiam said:
1. You use your forums login name and your forums password to login to the Registration page.2. See answer 1.
I was using it, but it didn’t work. It’s been fixed, I guess, because it’s working now.
Unless I am mistaken, there was no manditory forum registration to go along with the LAN registration at previous events. What gives?
EphraimParticipant1. It keeps saying my information is invalid.
2. Does everyone attending the LAN have to register with the forums?
EphraimParticipantStupid question time: Now that Guitar Hero has drums and a microphone, what differentiates it from Rock Band?
EphraimParticipantI have a feeling this thread is about to get all kinds of dramatic.
