Participant1. It keeps saying my information is invalid.

1. You use your forums login name and your forums password to login to the Registration page.
2. See answer 1.

ParticipantASU requires registration and I think it’s a serious mistake. It’s a turnoff IMO.

I was using it, but it didn’t work. It’s been fixed, I guess, because it’s working now.
Unless I am mistaken, there was no manditory forum registration to go along with the LAN registration at previous events. What gives?

Since it’s tied to the forums it may not be a bad thing to try and pull people into the forums.

ParticipantI mean no offense, but is it right to ask people who may not be familiar with the club to register with the forums before they can attend an event?
It seems like a lot to ask. Wouldn’t the logical progression be: they attend our event, like what they see, then join the forums?

they used to have to reply to a post to register back in the day… meaning they had to have a forums account before.

Walkins don’t register anyway. People who see that already have an account. The last two lans required forums logins.
I’ve spent more than ten hours on that site and I’m not changing it at this point because I have more stuff to add to it for reporting.

Participant$0.02 – we have most certainly had people that didn’t register beforehand and just walked up and paid their way in… that’s how I got started

also, if y’all change the schedule, I’m calling dibs on any PC tournaments – UT2k4, TF2, CoD4, CS:S. I may not be back to re-register.

ParticipantRegistered.
Just a suggestion on the site if you are looking for future improvement… when you get a chance you could make it where you can mouse 3 click and it open a window/tab without losing the current window view on the registration site (i know that it doesn’t lose my information). Looks good tho

TWICE we have 2 console games running at once? Both those games have high waiting times so it is easy to do both at the same time. Also, most people probably won’t play in both.

ParticipantQuestion, do council leaders have to register, even though its a given that we will be attending no matter what.

From the start of time we have required people to register for the forums to signup for the lan.
It is our way of informing the users at the lan that we have forums, because we dont really advertise them. I have never herd a user complain about it. It has never been a concern before, and yet we have seen benefits from people signing up.
The registration looks great, good job liam. Thanks again Tyler for the encryption login code made possible ( even though you will never see this )

Participantsorry I couldn’t make it out there, but locally gas has been just plain crazy so even though I would have much enjoyed potentially being stranded in the ‘Whee until gas stations got fresh supplies, not being able to return that night woulda meant that someone in the family woulda been out of a vehicle… However, do expect me at LAN 2008.4 – y’all know I’d bike over there if I gotta. hope it was great!
September 28, 2008 at 3:24 pm #57990Bitey
ParticipantIts ok buddy we’ll look for ya at the next one! Oh and yes I know you’d bike and if you couldn’t bike you’d walk, Bitey remembers Falcon’s walks to Wal-Mart.
