No. It doesn’t. This has a web browser and a process manager that can both be used IN GAME.

Well I think people have had time to see the rotation long enough it seems like it is time for a poll.

For the record – every time I go on there, during Piranesi, the server empties (and I don’t talk much, so its not me, smartypants).

AT LEAST throw nuke in there somewhere….

I don’t care about the other maps, just get rid of piranesi, put both assault and militia in there. <3 those maps.

Oh dear, MasterP is in denial. Even Bill freakin Gates uses a macbook pro to run windows vista.

You’re wrong, simply deal with the fact that I have the experience you don’t have with macs.

So what do you call reviving a 3 month death thread to win an argument?

It wasn’t to win an argument. Not sure where you got that idea. It was to “settle a debate”. My own words.

The main thing here is, it’s STILL a “CALL OF DUTY” game.

Why do you insist on adding little tidbits to (try to) make people feel like idiots? Check your attitude dude.

Yeah that argument used to work but gradually over time the “you’ve” has become a “we’ve”.

The real litmus test for this is whether or not you believe Macs have superior hardware or that Windows runs better on a Mac. If you believe either then there’s no saving you from Macfag retardation.

It’s been PROVEN various times that Windows DOES run better on Apple hardware. There is actually a logical reasoning for it too! Apple is better at making/verifying drivers than your every day hardware manufacturer. MasterP, you are WRONG on this arguement, deal!

Not to mention OSX is crap. There aren’t any stability problems that Windows has and OSX doesn’t. Someones been devouring all the brainwashing propaganda from those stupid (and lying) “I’m a Mac and I’m a PC” commercials.

I’ve only ever seen a couple of those ads, and always thought they were stupid.

Just because you’ve had problems with macs doesn’t mean they aren’t as good. I happen to think they’re better, they work for ME.

My mac pro DOES us FBDIMM. Shows what you know.

Work IT for a few years? I’m a certified computer technician my friend, because you’re the one who has no clue. I bought my mac pro in 08, contains 2 4870s (which I recently bought), 16gb fbdimm ram, and 2 quad xeon 3ghz cpu’s. Maybe YOu should try the research and experience technique, like I have.

My mac pro is the last generation mac pro, and it uses Fully Buffered DDR2 ECC FB-DIMM ram. Even GOOGLE could have saved you from making an *edited* of yourself there.

Bash the price all you want, but I chose stability, warranty, and reliability for my buck.

I’m content with my Windows 7 x64 Ultimate license. The ONLY problems I am having are with sound card drivers, and that the onboard realtek drivers are the only ones that seem to work flawlessly. My Claro and Fatal1ty both have issues, and I’ve even tried Daniel_K’s drivers.

On a side note: MasterP, you have no clue what you’re talking about on the subject of macs. You have to be the biggest moron alive to crash a mac, I’ve been using them for my development for years, and all 3 of my macs own. My mac pro even has 2 HD4870s in it:D

Macs aren’t “75%” more expensive. Not if you know how to buy them. Buy only the skin and bones from apple themselves, than by your extra FBDIMM RAM at macdeals or some *edited* to save a load of money. Never buy macs cinema displays. They’re not worth it. I bought dell ultrasharps:D *edited* like that. Macs are still a little more expensive, but for a superior and more stable OS, which takes better advantage of your hardware to develop I have no problem paying for it.

Shame….after all this time, there’s still that one PC fanboy who keeps throwing the price card and the “their not as stable as you think” card….shame on you…just…shame on you.

Mumble is many times more complex than TS and doesn’t come with the administration features that TS does without jumping through additional hoops.

It sounds better than TS because it uses Speex 45 which their own site says doesn’t sound much better than Speex 25. It uses less bandwidth than Vent because Vent uses GSM which is terrible in that regard.

It just seems like alot more of a hassle with alot less benefit. The voice quality isn’t realisticly inferior and on a 100Mbit unmetered connection bandwidth doesn’t really matter.

Doesn’t sound much better!? I have to assume that whoever honestly believes that is a little whacko.

Server is up at gaming.wcu.edu. Since it’s on the default port you don’t have to even put one in.

I have created the same channels as the simpweb had for the club, plus a few extras.

Raven: Teamspeak’s free-use license only allows for 1000 slots per physical server. If you allow for more than that you have to register it and pay licensing fees, whether the slots are used or not. Something to keep in mind.

    Orly?

    Meh. lol

All the same though, I would STRONGLY suggest using Mumble/Murmur. The voice quality trumps Teamspeak, and bandwidth usage trumps vent. If I personally could get a mumble server to run, I’d be using it as well.

I’d up the graphics card to a 4870, because they’re cheap, and they’re pretty much the same EXACT card as the 4890, and when put into a crossfire with another 4870 is as good as anything you’ll ever use for ANY game. I crossfire 2 4870’s, and I play GTAIV on maximum.

I’ll put up a TS2 server for you guys. On Simpwebs box:P

EDIT: Unless Adam — or anybody can figure out how to use Mumble/Murmur. I’ve tried Mumble (the client, and the voice quality is *edited* near perfect), but I can’t get Murmur (its server) to work for *edited*, but for the time being, I’ll setup a teamspeak.

    EDIT #2: 66.96.251.172:1007

No password (yet), and I’m not sure what channels you want as well. I’ll be connected if somebody who matters wants to connect, get admin, and make channels.

I gotta agree with tora on this. The “no arguing with admins” rule is over enforced. I can see if an argument gets out of hand, somebody gets gagged, but lately with MOST admins, I’ve been noticing alot of “Talk back to me and you’re gagged” crap.

There are/have been alot of jerk admins on these servers, who like tora said, hide behind their admin title. When I say jerk admins, I mean admins who are blatantly being jerkoffs, and the minute somebody innocent says something like “Isn’t that against the rules?” (such as team stacking), they get the good ole gag.

The PROBLEM with this is it’s not always dealt with properly. Logs should be looked at in EVERY single case.

But hey, what do I know. I’ve been running my own servers on various games for the last ten years, so I’m a total noob.

Here’s a thought. How about less “3 strike rule” BS, and more “suspensions when you abuse admin”? Suspensions should count as a strike in accordance with the 3 strike rule. I’ve seen relatively regular players (people who have been around a month or so) get in arguments with admins (over something stupid that the ADMIN did), and complain. Only to see said admin get “1 strike”, and show up later and ban that person permanently. 80% of the time, said player will never come back. Why? Because he’s been given a bad impression of how the servers are run.

So…..basically…toughen up on the admins. Alot of them abuse entirely too much.
