Yea I was suspended from XBL for a month for using an XFPS to convert a USB keyboard and mouse to 360 compatible. It adjusted sensitivity too. Only weird part was every time I ran by somebody, the autoaim (in MW2) would kind of slowly yank over to whoever was there.
Seriously though, there are certain games that just play better on PC’s, and certain ones that play better on consoles.
Fighting games is tailored more for controllers, where as first person (or even third person) shooters are better on PC’s, because of the precision. I even prefer GTA games on the PC (yes, even IV), because the console versions were worse than the most terribly optimized PC game ever…the graphics are sharper too. Plus, mods.
Put me against the best MW2 (OR ANY FPS) player on consoles, whether that be SeaNanners or whoever the hell, and I’ll kick their *edited* with my keyboard and mouse.

Gearbox didn’t make Duke Nukem Forever. It’s been stated over and over that they merely put the finishing touches. It was in fact stated by gearbox themselves that THEY approached 3d Realms and said “hey, let us help you resurrect this badass!”. I’ve been following Duke Nukem Forever…..just like I followed Black Mesa: Source (and btw, they announced a 2010 release…but than again they did the same for 09), just like I followed Alan Wake etc.
All we NEED is a multiplayer with dedicated servers

At least track down the people who came up with the idea first and give them some credit, Treyarch.
But then again, I guess the people who take you up the behind are apt to influence you in certain ways… Yes, I’m looking at you, Bobby Kotick.
Actually they did give credit. Research research. They credited the person who made the CoD4 variation of the mod, and credited the community for screaming their asses off that they wanted gungame. The CoD4 variation of gungame was arguably the best version.

Gearbox hasn’t released a solid FPS game in a long time, hopefully they don’t try to jump on the “take a good PC game, develop a sequel for consoles and do a half-*edited* port to PC” bandwagon like so many others have. The traditional duke nukem fans are so skeptical of DNF at this point that if it even hints of a console port it’s going to fail hard. Gearbox and 2K don’t have the capital to recover from a decisive failure.
In the meantime though, I’ve started playing Duke Nukem 3D again and at 1920×1080 it’s a *edited* good looking game.
It was developed on the PC first. Ported to consoles.

Keep telling yourself that, but if I with 98 ping can consistently and constantly kill the guy with 15 ping….yeah, registry is better:P That’s just in WCU’s server. In other servers I’m getting more kills, a lot more kills because my shots are registering. They need to add the ability to aim down sights:P

It was pretty much me anyway. I corrosponded directly with BurtinJ of Valve via PM on their forums, and later via E-Mail, and told him exactly what was going wrong. Just hours later, I get a pop up on steam saying “thanks for buying L4D2 pack” etc…I was all….wtf? Restarted steam, no vac ban.

Valve isn’t saying what REALLY happened. I know what happened, to a perfect T.
The server code of MW2 was never removed. Thus, all the code to automatically download mods etc was still there. This is proven by the existence of the console, and cvar cl_Allowdownloads. VAC for MW2 was designed to look for files in the game directory and memory that didn’t belong…and anybody who has played hacked lobbies in MW2 knows they are very common, and that they use the dedicated server source that was never removed. This downloaded files, and actually replaced the iw4mp.exe in some cases believe it or not, renaming the old to iw4mp.exe.old. THIS is what flagged VAC. It wasn’t through any fault of VAC, just the poor way the XBL port match making system was overlapped onto the existing code. The server code was/is always there…just commented out pretty much. THAT is what happened.
