Josh, if you know that people who want to play PS3 games at the LAN then you need to show that there is support for the consoles and games. When it comes to meetings or the forums, there are only one or two people that have/play PS3. Unfortunately the majority of college students don’t have the money to purchase a PS3, therefore it is the least played console. If you bring people you know who want to play PS3 console games to the LANs, FORUMS and MEETINGS the club will see a demand for the console and game, but when one or two people are the only ones who want it, it’s hard to add a competition into the LAN when nobody had ever played the game…

My suggestion is if Killcam is on, turn it off. Also, I agree with Kuros, change the game type to FFA. Then at least we can go idle in the game in FFA and have enough to play. This is good to start getting the server populated, then we can change it back to what we want to do.
Well a lot of the guys who won already had the game. The point of that prize was to help the CoD4 community at WCU grow, because there was already a lot of interest in it. It actually has worked, because the people who had it gave it to someone who didn’t and the ones who didn’t are playing and saying it’s awesome – ask Kip. But, Thor, I do not think there are any more copy’s, you’ll have to do like me and go buy it from wal-mart to play with them

Also Kuros internet fails till wednesday, which is when they activate his line.
he took it to the crib to update it and install everythinng he needed that involved the internet. he didnt take any of him games, and we were both rushed out of the house cause i had to leave for raleigh at 3. he gets internets tomorrow so it will be done soon.

ITS blocked IRC ports last year in an attempt to stop viruses from spreading across the virtual lans between dorms. The blocks didn’t even slow that specific virus down but they continued the block anyway.They aren’t going to open port 8080 because that would let people host websites from dorms. Port 7000 is the only option unless they are willing to unrestrict traffic to Gamesurge.
We may want to look at an off campus proxy or see if ITS can configure a port forwarding service for IRC use. Perhaps forward something crazy like port 32438 to outbound 6668.

I talked to Stephen Wilson today, he said they changed something on the packetshaper today to get another program to work to try and it blocked the ports. But, he said that the IRC protocols should of already been blocked beforehand. Stephen said that the ports were blocked because of malware and viruses. He told me he was going to talk to Scott S about getting everything up for us, and was very helpful about trying to help the gaming club. Shane also emailed him about getting irc.gamesurge.net open and closing everything else, as mentioned above.
