More has come out about how the game was developed and it’s surprisingly like the last Deus Ex game. That failed miserably on PC.

What’s the deal with no in-game server browser?

This shouldn’t surprise anyone. Gamestop has always been about the bottom line and has a long history of screwing over gamers to improve it.

I believe the servers were mentioned at the last meeting before the summer.

The problem with that is the servers were outdated then and still are now. Even Felix’s own TF2 servers are so horribly outdated and broken that they had to be turned off to keep them from lagging out everything else.

I do know that I haven’t heard any interest on campus in CS. From what I’ve heard from freshmen, the games they want to play are league of legends, melee, and gears of war 3.

Alot of that will depend on the crowd you’re asking. PC gamers don’t go to valley balleywho, in fact they don’t do much of anything outside of stay in their room playing video games. There’s too many gaming clubs at other universities that have large FPS populations for me to believe that WCU doesn’t have anyone interested in it at all.

Btw, since you’re reading this, now that TF2 is free it could easily be made to be a huge draw for the PC section if someone that cares about it is elected into PC leadership. I’ve tried to contact Felix about this and other issues over the last few months but other than joining your minecraft server to ask I don’t think he’ll ever bother to respond. Speaking of minecraft, how’s the server been since I optimized it?

    Really? None of them?

When was the last time our CS servers were advertised to students? I know the answer, just curious if you do.

Is it retail or Steam? If you bought a physical copy you could try taking it back. If they give you any lip explain that you meet the minimum requirements and that the game won’t start.

There’ve been alot of graphical issues with the new Deus Ex game. Best thing you can do is to post on the Steam forums and see if they can help.

Do you really want a gaming laptop? If so that’s probably a decent pick. If you don’t intend to game you can shave off another $200 or so easy.

aka dice you don’t play pc games, you could back off the hardware specs a bit?

That’s about what my dad paid for a non-gaming core i5 with a 10 hour battery, a 3 year on site warranty with accidental damage protection, and one of those $100 home/car/airplane power adapters.

Also, why did you pay for the recovery media? You could’ve PM’d me and I’d hook you up B)

I used to aim for heads at 300-400 meters and could never get credit for headshots so I switched to center mass shots. This is definately something that needs to be fixed.

Yeah but you can challenge a patent without even going to court. If your reasoning is compelling enough a simple request for re-examination will suffice. The problem is that these corporate giants DON’T have a compelling reason to challenge the validity of a patent aside from the desire to either acquire it themselves or avoid licensing its use.

If a patent truely was over-reaching or stifling innovation and progress the USPTO would be required to remove it upon re-examination. The problem is that the patents in question typically required millions of dollars in research and the USPTO is not in the mood to take that away from companies on a dime.

It’s not judges that make the decision, it’s the people at the US patent office. They’ve been approving illegal and conflicting patents for decades, mostly due to a lack of care. Perfect example, Blackboard filed a patent that gave them a monopoly on the online education market, even though what they patented had been invented prior to their formation as a company. It took years of court proceedings to get those patents tossed out and they’re still working on it to this today.

Like everything else having to do with our government, the US patent office needs a house cleaning of personnel.

“The best approach is NOT to put down such beloved tales and refuse to read them…but to pose questions after.” As in, ask a question and let the kids come to their own conclusion.

Why should kids that young even be introduced to the concept of class warfare? The story, as was read to me, didn’t even hint at the concept that some are better than others because they “can afford a better house.” The story, as I remember it, was entirely about working hard and being rewarded for it. I didn’t learn the concept that some were better than others until our neighbors built a 4 story house. When I asked why their house was bigger my parents explained that both their parents went to school for much longer and were doctors. I was told that if I wanted a big house and nice cars like they had that I should study hard and go to college.

I’ve never liked the idea of political correctness because I know how it’s been weilded in the past:

Yeah if Google was offered a part in it and turned it down no one should have any sympathy for them. It obvious what they were trying to do and it backfired.
