Spectator…and JUST as I bought myself the Marvel vs. Capcom 3 TE FightStick for my new PS3 too… Nice job MadCatz…

SpectatorActually, there was a Madden tourney several weeks back sponsored by WCU Intramural Sports and the turnout was 36 people or something ridiculous like that. If we really hit the promotion now very hard and very fast, we’ll get one heck of a turnout for this LAN and this tourney in particular.

SpectatorErm… I MEANT what they were doing with the “Wiimote as lightgun equivalent” thing.
BJ
BJWanlund
SpectatorI think you mean the Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars games, because there is currently NO Smash Brothers game on the DS officially.
BJ
BJWanlund
SpectatorWell, that might be the way to go then, because I think that would be fine so far as not to give an unfair advantage to the arcade stick players, i.e. giving them a level playing field.

no mention of the nintendo light rifle? zomg. it was too many decades ahead of its time… and epic.
Ahh, the original orange-and-grey NES Zapper. Man, that was so much fun. So much fun, in fact, that I was for a while considering modding it in order to play Duck Hunt on something other than a tube TV. :/
Let’s hope Nintendo knows what it’s doing with this Wiimote thing, the closest shell I’ve seen to that old NES Zapper is actually the Nyko PerfectShot. But, I’m not the Treehouse Group at Nintendo.

SpectatorMaybe this is the fabled Super Smash Brothers DS… (I guess the DS will stand for something, sort of like Guilty Gear Dust Strikers…)

SpectatorI’m not totally AGAINST the use of arcade sticks, IF both players had sticks.
Just saying.

SpectatorOH! I see what you were saying now, Raven! Sorry, I should’ve called the analog stick on the PSP the analog NUB. Either way, it’s an analog SOMETHING.

SpectatorThis is an actual PSP port, not the PSP Remote Play we HAVE had on the PS3 version of Blazblue.
And BTW, if I think you called me a “newb”. Couldn’t quite tell with that u in there.

SpectatorDoesn’t sound like a real MTG sort of game, at least, not like Magic Online or the XBLA title Duels of the Planeswalkers.

You might want to add me to the attendance, Ephraim. I never got to sign the sheet with the boxes on it, since they started that after I showed up.
Also, all of us got robbed by that guy in BlazBlue.
~Arch Angel~
Which guy in Blazblue? Since you thoroughly raped my *edited* as Nu (hint: BAN HER at the next tourney), I didn’t really get to see very many good BB players.
BJ

SpectatorIt was the entire group, I’m afraid.
Hope that helps you decipher the issue, Mitch.

SpectatorI also want to thank Shawnna for that amazingly cool Relay For Life merch. That was really nice of her to do that, especially since she had way more than they needed for Relay for Life.
And I also had a fantastic time, like Kaz-Ka. I did play some Rock Band/GH in the free play area, which was fun.
And I now realize I might need a good PC to play some more recent games, especially since most of those games looked like fun (well, except for L4D, I never was a big horror movie fan, and the mere mention of Blair Witch Project sends chills up the ol’ spine).
And from what I heard from my roommate, the WC3 tourney went well, congrats Heero-shin on the well-oiled machine for that tourney.

I hope you guys had as much fun as I did and I hope I see you guys in December.
I most certainly did, and I did finally pull together my exam schedule, and I might be able to make it to the LAN on December 12th.

Well, I hope that you and Valve can resolve that issue, Mitch, because I could hear a ton of moaning from the L4D players who were very unhappy with how the game played.
Can you clarify on the issue(s) that made them unhappy? I hadn’t heard of any complaints and none of the execs I was in contact with tonight did either.
Well, there were some issues where the game just froze all of a sudden. There was quite a bit of swearing going on too when the game locked up or froze.

Other than that, this LAN was such a fun one, even with the problems that we ran into.

SpectatorI did like Tekken myself, and I kind of liked Tekken Tag, if only because it was decent.
Glad to see at least someone’s taking up the Tekken banner again.

SpectatorAnd I’m not exactly savvy on current MTG play mechanics, so we’re even there Kaz-Ka.
I was wondering if you had Llanowar Elves because when one plays green, you really want to have a fast start mana-wise, and Llanowar Elves helps that quite a bit. I have a green/black deck I’m not very happy about as far as what I just mentioned, and that would help immensely.

SpectatorSigned, sealed, & delivered!
I signed up for the Blazblue tournament because it didn’t give me the choice of more than 1 tourney during that 2:00 timeframe.
I will probably be out of the Smash Bros tourney early on if I don’t have a good partner (and that will be day of, probably, I invited someone who used to be a student here to be my partner, but I don’t think he’s coming, or at least, he hasn’t gotten back to me about it).

SpectatorAlso, BTW, if you’re coming from the opposite direction (ie from the east of us here at Western), there is some seriously bad construction traffic on I-40 near exit 44. Please, I beg you, budget the time in so that you can take 19/23 off of exit 44 and stay straight until you get to Clyde, then stay on the road that 19/23 merges into until exit 85.
BJ

SpectatorDo you happen to have any Llanowar Elves kicking around, Kaz-Ka?
Just wondering.
