ParticipantI was so close to getting into this game back in the day but I heard it was a time vampire and passed.
Unfortunately not long after that I got into SW Rebellion and spent the next 4 months in one SP game…
MasterP
ParticipantI’m not sure he’d be able to fix it either. Liam will probably have to apply his special touch to get it working again.
MasterP
ParticipantThat’s the problem though, the gaming club WILL endorse it without any idea what the laws are. Video and board games are one thing but the instant you start playing with cards, of any type, you’re venturing into a heavily regulated world riddled with legal landmines.
The kicker isn’t what we’re doing, it’s the fact we’re a non-profit organization doing it on state property. The laws we have to abide by are much stricter than those regulating a normal, for-profit business operating on private property.

Define “us” in the last sentence, because several executives have already heard the main gist of it.
“Us” as in people who’ve seen other organizations get in trouble over this type of thing at WCU before. Pretty sure none of the current execs were paying attention when the honors college got raped a few years back for this sort of thing but hey that’s being presumptious

If I remember correctly I wasn’t even negative the last time you posted about MTG, why is it such a problem now? Unless it breaks club or university rules…

You’ll complain about anything I post
Yep that’s me. All I do is complain about everything…
…except things that are actually thought out, make sense, and wouldn’t get the club execs thrown in jail. For example, the last 3 club presidents could be charged with misdemeanors (class 2 to be exact) for how they ran the raffles.
Sometimes when people think your idea is bad it’s not because they’re an *edited* or don’t like you, sometimes it really is a bad idea. Depending on how you approach an MTG tournament it could be considered gambling on state property which nets the entire exec staff (and you) misdemeanor charges, expulsion from WCU, and gets the gaming club banned from operating in the state of NC.
So yeah, want to run your proposal by us? Please…

That will get you started. You’ll have to use Smash Stack or Indian Pwns on 4.3U.
Also, poke around that wiki. Lots of good reading.

You should be good on all softmods. Before installing ANY software or hardware mods, install bootmii. If you have the firmware version of bootmii you can very easily recover from bricks.
MasterP
ParticipantIt’s broke ATM.
…again
MasterP
ParticipantHaving the 4.3U OS doesn’t necessarily mean anything in regards to softmodding capability. The real limitation is in whether or not your Wii is one of the newer batches that have hardware limits. Even with 4.3U, if you have an older version you can simply downgrade to 4.1 or 4.2 and then carry on like normal but the newer models brick when you downgrade them.
Check your serial number. What are the first 2 numbers after LU?
MasterP
ParticipantSolderless modchips have been out for a while and nintendo regularly changes DVD formatting to try to break them. I would check message boards and site reviews before shelling out $40-80 on a modchip.
The best solution is to softmod but that carries its own risks as well. When did you get your Wii?
MasterP
ParticipantWhy doesn’t the president check the forums anymore?
and the PC VP?
Keep in mind that if there isn’t sufficient activity it’ll get archived just like all the other un/undersupported sections IE DoDS, CSGG, CSSGG.
Also, why are you doing something that only execs and the webmaster has authority to do? That’s like me banning people, sure I have the power and it might be authorized but that doesn’t mean I’m allowed to do it.

That’s why I hate it. I can’t not play it for a week.

ParticipantWow that was creepy.
Like. Almost nothing creeps me out. On a scale of 1 to 10 of how easy it is to creep me out, I’m Rambo.
If that went on much longer it could probably creep Chucky out, and that’s bad.
To top it off, flamethrower supersoakers. I’m so going to build that over Christmas break.

Does TF2 still have a large following?
Unfortunately.
They keep adding crap and having sales to attract players to replace oldies that quit.
I think I speak for the entire planet when I say they should be using these programmers to make HL3 rather than adding content.

It has nothing to do with audience targetting. The other networks aren’t even reporting on it. Targetting an audience means putting certain things on the homepage but still reporting on the rest. CNN/MSNBC/etc aren’t even reporting this. At all. You can’t find it anywhere on their website.
You sure you looked?
http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/10/14/health.care.challenge/index.html?iref=allsearch
it says it was posted 3 hours ago. I still don’t see how it proves a news organization is biased or unbiased. Just because Fox headlined it and cnn didn’t doesn’t mean anything. Besides, they change headlines every few hours anyway.
Yes I looked. When I made the OP none of the others had reported on it and at Fox it had been the headline for well over an hour. CNN didn’t have an article on it until about an hour after a producer there blogged about it and MSNBC didn’t have it until about an hour ago. In typical MSNBC reporting fashion, they just copy/pasted the AP release on it <_>

I thought it was pretty unprofessional what they did to Bill Oreilly. I hate whoopi and that one red head anyway. At least what’s her face defended bill a little, and knows how to be a reporter/host.
The thing with Bill is that you can’t BS your way out of an argument with him. If you go into the discussion with facts and a no-BS attitude you can have the complete opposite opinion but still have a meaningful conversation with him. When you go into the argument with just your opinion and a bag of obsenities to yell then yeah, he’s going to wipe the floor with you and you’re going to ragequit. An argument against any competant person would end the exact same way.
And I agree, Whoopie and Joy have no business being on a show like that. After being on the wrong side of public outcry over discussions on that show it’s really not surprising that she would be professional about it. She’s learned what happens when you blindly defend the actions of irrational people and definately won’t make *that* mistake again. lol

And while I’m on fox’s audience, lets take a look at their “most read” article:
http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2010/10/14/hosts-walk-view-argument-oreilly-ground-zero-mosque/
drama and extremism (bill oreily on one of the most extreme shows on the freaking planet) sells. The View hurts my head, actually most (extreme) feminists hurt my head.
If you watch The View, you are too retarded to be worthy of my time. The women on there just yell and argue until guests yield to their point of view and whenever a guest has a brain and doesn’t they rage. “We’re back because now you apologized”… good grief. If they were telling the truth it’d have read: “We’re back because our boss said if we didn’t we’d be fired.”
Btw, every network’s audience cares about the people on it. When MSNBC anchors got into it with Jon Leibowitz and utterly embarrased the entire network that was their most watched video of the month.
You can sit there and say O’Reilly has one of the most extreme shows on the planet, and I’d partially agree, but his ratings are extremely high for a news-opinion show. At one point his show had more viewers than CNN and MSNBC combined during that timeslot, I’m sure it’s probably grown since then. Regardless of viewercount, a 14 year old show is nothing to laugh at.

I’m sorry but how does that prove they are unbiased? Or let me rephrase, how does it make any of the news agencies (fox included) biased for headlining one story over another? They are just targeting their audience.
It has nothing to do with audience targetting. The other networks aren’t even reporting on it. Targetting an audience means putting certain things on the homepage but still reporting on the rest. CNN/MSNBC/etc aren’t even reporting this. At all. You can’t find it anywhere on their website. That’s not targetting an audience, that’s burying a story you don’t like.

Look at this article cnn posted earlier, the comments are polar opposite to the author’s viewpoint:
http://www.cnn.com/2010/OPINION/10/14/navarrette.pot.prop/index.html?hpt=C2
I’m talking about actual articles, you’re talking about commentator and opinion sections. Commentators don’t represent the networks or, necessarily, facts. Take a look at the italicized text at the bottom of that article.
