im pretty sure i didnt touch it, it might have just been a mistake when Liam redid all teh forum groups, being that if you are in the admin forum group you are admin on teh server

.deb, .rpm, .repo, source files can generally all be installed on most any Linux distro. All they are is package management. If you have the package manager installed you can use whichever source file you want. My personal favorite is conary.

ive always had issues when installing non .deb files… may just be the version i run

First with any install issues your best bet is to scourge ubuntu forums as those guys literally spend their whole life in the bowels of linux. 2nd from reading said forums, it looks like 8.10 doesn’t automatically install flash like in 8.04 (heron…what the pro kids use) Go directly to the Adobe website and down load the plugin file .deb You can also do it in terminal, but to make your life easier just directly dload it, and install that way.

 

*note: all the install files you need will be in .deb…. so if you see stuff not in deb it usually won’t work
