Well that was a bit of a disappointment. We had a smaller turnout than last week. I still had fun, but the goal is to get people on the server and it didn’t work.
I think we had 8 or 9 at the most. The problem being someone would leave as soon as someone else joined. There were probably at least 15 people that connected last night but not at the same time.
Question: Since CSS is using the same source as tf2, is it also using the algorithm for server rank in the browser? Does it check to see how long a player is connected and rank the server that way? If so we might need to get some people to idle the server for 45 min or more to help boost our rank in the server browser.

Well, we have 4 bots… so depending on if the steam server browser wants to show bots or not it should show 4. Sometimes mine shows 0 even though there are 4 bots on..

Today I found out that the idiom used for the notion of someone “getting what’s coming to them”, whether good or bad, is actually “just deserts”, not “just desserts”.
The misconception primarily stems from the fact that most people are unfamiliar with the word ‘desert’ (pronounced dizert), which more or less means the same thing as the word ‘deserve’. Instead, when they see the word ‘desert’, they think only of the word meaning something to the effect of ‘dry sandy wasteland’, which is pronounced ‘dezert’.
In fact, these two words that are spelled the same, but pronounced differently, have their origins in two different Latin words. The word ‘desert’, as in hot sandy wasteland, comes from the Latin word deserere, meaning to forsake. The word ‘desert’ as in “to get what’s coming to you”, comes from the Latin word deservire, which is also where we got the word “deserve” from.
Thus, the pronunciation of “just desert” as “just dizert’ starts to make more sense when considering the origin of this particular form of ‘desert’, being the same as the origin for the word as “deserve”. Likewise, the idiom “just desert” actually now makes complete sense, unlike “just desserts” which makes no sense whatsoever in the context that this particular idiom is usually used.
Bonus Factoids:
* The word ‘desert’, as in “to get what is coming to you”, has been used in English since around the 13th century. This word, however, has fallen out of common usage and now, outside of the idiom “just desert”, is almost never used.
* The earliest reference for the idiom “just deserts” was around the 16th century.
* This type of spelling error based on a mishearing of a word or misunderstanding of its context is commonly called an eggcorn.

Inception was amazing… best movie of the Summer by far. Unlike Avatar (which of course didn’t come out this Summer), it didn’t just rely on the effects and actually has an original story.
I strongly recommend going to see it.

It seems to me that a company that usually makes quality peripherals would have tested holding the phone in your hand before releasing it.
The “kill yourself” part was a bit much.
Kaz had a perfect chance of getting Console VP back… and in my opinion he still does. I don’t know what reason it came down to for why he got the ax as President, but I do know that he definitely could have gotten the new box a lot sooner, but instead he decided to give the alumni flack and keep them from helping….
Now I’m not a political expert, but if you want to be President of a Club, you really need to think of the whole club and not just the part you’re most interested in.
I’ll also go on to say that you don’t need to President to be a valuable part of the club.

THX VALVE for coming up with an update before my event… If anyone can update the server plz do! It’s 7 and no one can connect.
I don’t know what ballz is doing.. but gg is out of the question for that server. Even if I were to install it on there, the server would most likely have to be restarted in order to cut it off and I have no idea how it will work with the new update and the other plugins..
Thx for the idea though.

I would probably laugh for 5 minutes or more.
I’ve changed the freezetime from 6 seconds to 3 seconds.. I’ve searched the steam forums and have yet to find a solution to the spectate bug.
Lots of maps can kill population…
If we only play the normal maps then the game sucks. You’re an admin try to make it work!
