It is a good point, that is why this is still just a test period, lets see what happens this week and the vote for the people will be put up, it will be completely up to you guys whether we keep it or not.
That is why we asked for any and all problems to be reported, we can’t fix problems we don’t know about and we are going to see that it is running fine.
Oh believe me I know, but why would zBlock leave that little feature in? There must be a reason for it?
All those are relatively new video cards aren’t they? I dunno maybe older video cards and slight changes to the config file will cause the flashbangs not to work, I dunno what to tell you man.
Wish we could get same results on things when I tried it along with many others on the CAL website they came by the same results as me flashbang did not turn the screen white, I didn’t just pull it out of my *edited*….
95 is a usable setting I remember fiddling with it a year or so ago, but again your dxlevel should work with and help your hardware, if it is causing more pain than help, then take it as low as you can without breaking the zBlock minimum. I know that 70 and lower makes it so flashbangs do not effect you, at least on the visual side, your ears still ring.
I never said zBlock would be permanent, I said that I wanted to test it out on our main servers for a week. After everyone had a chance to use it and see what it really was like instead of basing their opinions on someone else’s opinions or from what they “heard”, I had planned on putting up a vote for the community to vote on, I didn’t want people passing judgment on something they haven’t even given the slightest bit of opportunity, this way you are forced to at least try it out.
Please bear with us if you are having issues with your skins, communicate with us and we will do what we can to alleviate that problem for you, don’t just assume we know, we don’t know everyone’s specific problems you have to speak up and let us know.
I am glad the public is speaking up as this is who I wanted to hear from. I let this go on for as long as it has because I wanted our community to be the ones to step in and be the voice of reason, all I can say is thank god for you guys.
Setting the dxlevel lower causes walls in certain maps to become transparent, it also makes it so flashbangs don’t work on you.
It became personal when people started calling me out about how I run the club, I will fight tooth and nail anyone that just wants to flame me about it but if you want to come to me with an honest opinion and talk to me about it I WILL listen.
Of course the source server will sustain itself he did a fantastic job of making sure it would be that way.
When did I take credit for anything I was trying to prove to Kuros that it is not my fault a server has decreased in population or increased I have completely relied on you and all the other CLs to do their job and populate your respective servers. According to him when you fail I am supposed to step in and fix it. You like so many others pre-judge me, you think I just jumped at the zBlock idea, no I didn’t it took me 3 days of consideration before I even went for it, so do me a favor and stop thinking you know me, you want to know how I think call me, I have already extended that invitation one time before and you did not take me up on it. You really expect me to replace people over the summer? No I am sorry I am not doing that. I expect a certain amount of responsibility out of the CLs something that I intend to make very obvious at the meeting, I WILL be delegating responsibilities to people, I WILL NOT do as Kuros did and take almost the full weight of the club on his shoulders, that is something I cannot and will not do. I will be the first to push it from underneath if it needs it but I will not take it on by myself.
So again let me make it clear I take no responsibility for what you did with the server, as I have said three times now I think you did an awesome job with the server, what do I have to do to make that clear to you? What I said was I would let the population speak for itself, how does that imply me taking credit for it?
A decrease in what? I thought the objective was to bring interest to the club for the university, NOBODY ON THIS CAMPUS REALLY PLAYS 1.6 THAT MUCH ANYMORE, THAT IS THE ONLY DECREASE AT ALL. That is how technology works ,you should know that Hardware Guy….

It has been up for almost two days now and there has been no complaints, lets give it a week like I said and then we can start *edited*ing about it if it starts becoming a problem, otherwise stfu and post in a thread of a game that you actually play in, unless of course you have something to add to the conversation that will help the discussion. Players who lower mat_dxlevel are not exactly legitimate players as has already been discussed.
As for skins we are working on a method to allow people to use approved skins.

Flame me all you want, I will let the actions and the population increase of this club speak for itself, I am doing what I am supposed to be doing I make choices based on what I think is right. You have full right to hate me for it, but for someone who is an ex-president and claimed at one point to love this club why do you spend so much time trying to bring me down?
Why you laugh at me saying “when I ran for president.” I have no clue, yes I know that you won the election, that was not my point, my point was that when I made the decision to do that, my own opinions and interests were gone and my only concern was what was best for the club. Why you find that funny eludes me.

For the last time why do we need to test a program that is already used by big names, I didn’t want to test it on a private server where the only people that would test it would be Liam, myself, and maybe a few devoted regulars. I wanted the whole impact on the server because we knew that nothing would happen that we could not fix.

Why does this seem so familiar? Is this round 2 from those months ago where you maybe felt like you didn’t say enough? Why can you not leave this alone like you said you would do all that time ago, when you said yourself when I leave I will have nothing to do with the club, and yet here you are causing more unnecessary drama, I do not understand either of you… Trust in me and help us to prosper, instead of flaming me and bringing us all down to the most basic primate level, please.

I am so tired of your whining, Shane you are the only one “wary” of posting here, and if anyone else is, it is not me who is to blame for you feeling that way about posting. This is now a personal issue, you want to call me out on things you call me on the phone or you talk to me in person, this is BS and I am calling you on that, none of what you have said is the full truth, it is tweaked to look like you are in the right and it is non-sense, now if you want to discuss this like a “professional” or adults then you come see me, or call me right now.
Pattern of changes? I made one change against your original decision, what kind of pattern are you talking about? I want to set the record straight instead of having you come in here and try to make us look bad, we discussed as in the entire thread in the server admin forum between the Effix thread and the Z-Block thread everything I needed to hear about Z-Block, you did not see it as a good idea but I don’t see the issue with doing what I did. Now to clear things up you resigned because I over turned ONE of your decisions, wow, that is all I can say, wow. I told you that you have been doing a great job and I step in and make a decision that I think will improve the server and because it isn’t your way, you step out? My point is there are no patterns I have let you run the server the way you wanted to, I made one change and that is the only fact that I need the public to know, my interest is protecting the players in WCU servers from hackers and improving the playability in all our servers, my own interests were thrown out the window when I ran for president.
