Lol, where do you keep coming up with these random names for your city..Lol the Bulls without MJ..Don’t want to think about it because at the time, it was untrue. If he played..we had a good chance at the championship. C’mon now, don’t get bitter..it’s okay that you have no good teams lately
Well besides the Rockets in the playoffs this year =P kidddingggg
We haven’t has good sports in a couple years..But the rise to prominence is coming..oh you wait…JUST WAIT!
Well, I suppose Bulls fans just stopped watching basketball when MJ took his first retirement…The team that won both championships in ’94 and ’95? Houston, aka, CLUTCH CITY. Why? Because we had several players who were *edited*ing clutch. Robert Horry, clutch, Mario Elie, clutch, Sam Cassell, clutch, Kenny Smith, clutch…I can go on…
And to NuRayz, the Bulls were still a 50+ win team when MJ left in ’94, ’95, so you can’t say the Bulls were a bad team when MJ left. A mediocre playoff team yes, but bad, no.
And since MJ left, when have the bulls been good? Hmmmm…And you are also in the L”east” where aside from the Pistons the last 7 years, there has been NO good teams besides Miami in ’06(?)…At least the Rockets have no advanced past the first round in the west where there 8 teams in the playoffs that have +50 wins, and even a team or two that has 50 wins and does not make the playoffs…
good game sir…
And yes that series will go down as at the very least, the second best series of all time. But 7 overtimes going into the seventh game…so epic…big shot after big shot near the ends of the games…money…
The rise to prominence is not coming because there are too many other better teams you have to get past: LeBron’s team, Kobe’s team, a healthy Boston, Orlando, Portland in the next few years will be more money than ever, and depending on the direction the Rockets take, they might stay atop here as well…
i.e. Even with a sick new foundation of D. Rose, Chicago won’t be at the top anytime soon…gg sir…

ParticipantI don’t think a first round series should be in the discussion for the best series of all time. Sure the Bulls Celtics series was memorable and will stay memorable for many years to come…but in the end there was no championship at stake.
When I think of epic battles, I think of championship battles: rockets v knicks (hakeem the dream), bulls v jazz (MJ), spurs v pistons (04-05). If the Bulls Celtics series was your best series of all time, then I’m sorry to say this but you haven’t watched enough basketball.
Aside from championship battles, the battles in the playoffs between the bulls v knicks or the knicks v pacers in the 90s were way more intense.

ParticipantTo Yahoo: I meant Chicago sports in general lol not just the Bulls
Cubs/B’hawks/Bears/Fire! >.> lol @ soccer. And Sticky: I said it was an amazing series, not the BEST series ever. My parents company had a box during the 90’s, and i used to go to games constantly. I saw PLENTY of better series but this was intense as hell. As yahoo said 7 OT’s in 7 games. C’mon now. That’s epic

<3 Chicago Sports Teams, well besides the Sox. They can go rot in Hell

ParticipantDissapointed in DFish, he will get suspended for sure.
Kobe is a punk. Even though Artest got ejected, it shows some composure that he could take a shot to the throat and not start swinging. I would have enjoyed seeing Ron pound Kobe’s face in.
This series is gonna get dirty. LETS GO ROCKETS LETS GO!

Did he have another td again?I don’t understand why other teams cannot contain Rondo…I mean seriously…WTF…he CANNOT shoot a jumper at all, he can barely make freethrows half the time…so by process of elimination how does he get his points…IN THE *edited*ING PAINT driving…What is hard to defend against this?? Teams can contain 7 foot 6 Yao Ming, but they can’t contain 6 foot _ Rondo?!?!
And on his numbers, his teammates did not miss yesterday, except for a short stretch in the 3rd, so that explains his assists…but his rebounds are what annoys me sometimes…There was one play when an Orlando player jacked up a shot, clearly it was going to miss, and all five Orlando players had already ran down the court so that left 3 boston players to rebound, and Rondo runs from the 3 point line and screams at his teammate and snatches the ball right before he grabs the board so he can bad his stats a lil…totally unnecessary…but anyways…he is having a heck of a series…and I still don’t like him : P

Participantyeah i love how u two keep making excuse bout rondo i think it is so funny. Expect the thing funny hes been the most consistent player for the celtics and maybe the best player in the playoffs expect james. Lets c what he does tonight with no alston playing lol. I mean he almost out rebounded dwight howard. Who cares if his teammates are making shots him getting to the paint and getting him open is what he does. How do u think nash used to get all them assist but i never seen him getting these kind of rebs. Ohh btw also king james had seven trd all season rondo has three in the playoffs already. Yea hes just lucky thou like me. How are his stats padded i dont understand that either. James goes to the paint and scores his stats are arent padded but rondos is i love it. Im not saying he is james thou cause james is the best in the game period. Hence who i picked to win the finals.

ParticipantHalf time report:
The rockets are giving up the ball way to much. We should be up 15-20 points. We have given the ball up 11 *edited*ing times. Defense is the only thing saving us, that and the Laker’s are cold, as in dead, but they are also cold as in good.
Which is the problem, if the Laker’s actually start making stuff…we’re screwed.
KEEP IT UP!!! LETS DO THIS

ParticipantROCKETS v. LAKERS 2-2
total 180 from friday.
All i know is, we have played without Yao before, we are actually still sick without him. Make that 4-0 for the rockets(without Yao) against the lakers!!!!

ParticipantOh,
and lets not forget, the rockets still won without Yao. Or T-Mac. And with Artest playing like *edited*.

ParticipantThe Rockets have been winning without T-Mac for about 4 months now. It’s gonna be interesting to see if Houston tries to trade him this off-season. I think he’s on his last year in his contract.

Right before the trading deadline, he came out publicly about his injury, his surgery, and even said he wasn’t being treated nicely by the team. At the same time there were rumors circulating that the rockets might trade t-mac for some quality players; one being Vince Carter. It was really a hoe move on t-macs part, but then again its understandable why T-mac would do it, cuz he’s a lil baby.

It was really a hoe move on t-macs part, but then again its understandable why T-mac would do it, cuz he’s a lil baby.Tmac is UNTRADABLE. Period. He is an “old” injury prone superstar who is set to make another 21 million next year. No one would want to take that on to their books just for cap space for the 2010 summer. Anyways. Tmac WILL have a good year next year since he will be a free agent the following, and he must make himself look good for other teams. But at the same time, it is common knowledge that Daryl Morrey(sp?) and Les Alexander have always been huge Tmac fans, and have never given up on him. And honestly, the Rockets are a MUCH better team when Tmac is healthy and playing well. This year all we have seen is a Tmac that is hurt. He is one of the few players that gets noticeably better stats in the post season.
And if you try to pull the ol’ “well he never got his team out of the first round” business, then I dare you to tell me WHEN he has had a “good” team around him in the post season(aside from the second(I think) year he was first with Yao)…Kobe could not take his team out of the first round without Shaq/Pau, Paul Pierce couldn’t do it without KG/Ray, Dwade can’t do it without another superstar…The only freak who has done it is LeBron, and I almost don’t count him because he’s in the L’East.
All that nonsense being said; if Tmac can get ANYWHERE near what he is capable of this coming year, I would gladly keep him, especially with Yao showing that he can play the better part of a full season. My advice to management would be to play both Yao and Mac for the first third of the year, get a strong start. Then don’t play either of them on back to backs for a third of the year, then depending on how they are doing, play them more at the end, but even then I would sit Yao on back to backs again so he doesn’t continue to hurt his feet/knees…
ANDDDD
tl;dr
Tmac is making 21 mil next year, he’s old and injury prone = untradeable.
When he is healthy he is a great player, makes teams better.
Houston management have been known to LOVE Tmac.
No other superstar has gotten out of the first round without help(don’t look at LeBron)…
I say keep Mac/Yao, play both the first 1/3 of the year then sit one of the two on back to backs for the better part of the rest of the season…
May 11, 2009 at 2:39 pm #84532d2.sticky-icky
ParticipantEven though he has a fat contract, teams that are looking to make a postseason push might trade for T-Mac. Even if a team signs him for one year, that team will still have money for the summer of 2010 b/c his contract expires at the end of the 09-10 season. They will just incur the salary cost for the next season. I would love to see T-Mac on a team like the Spurs or the Blazers. A healthy T-Mac is SCARY!!!!
*T-Mac’s salary for this season 08-09 was $21 mil. His salary for next season (09-10) is $23 mil btw.
