If rondo tries to play that agressive *edited*, Rafer will definitely answer, i wouldn’t be surprised if they throw down.

ParticipantLucky, did you watch that game? Rondo didn’t do anything besides feed his big men. He had like 10 pts lol and he played 45 minutes…sorry. The Celtics bench was doing work on us and won that game.
And the B’hawks Dean..at least we still have one playoff team to watch for a bit. Sick game last night..didn’t watch it up the highlights were cool.
And hopefully come october the Cubs don’t do the same thing they usually do and flop…*crosses fingers*

ParticipantK lets compare numbers once again so cal since u love them so much.
Paul 23.1p 6.9r 2.0a 1.14s
Ray 23.4p 3.1r 2.1a 1.57s
Rondo 19.4p 9.3r 11.6a 2.71s
yeah your right again im sorry rondo isnt carrying them the other two are. Consider u can take ray or pauls reb *edited* and steals to equal rondos assist total.

It’s not Paul and Ray’s jobs to get assists, and it is certainly NOT Ray’s job to get rebounds…It IS Rondo’s job to get assists, and as history has shown, the best point guards also get a good amount of boards. And Rondo is similar to J.Kidd where they both have terrible jumpers so they have to drive a lot more, and when they do shoot, they always rush the boards because there is a HIGH chance they will miss. The difference between kidd and Rondo is that Rondo does not have near the passing capabilities that Kidd has, despite his high number of assists. But again, look who he can pass to, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen…
Any mediocre NBA point guard who can handle the ball and follow plays from a piece of paper can throw the ball to ray and Paul and get 10 assists…Rondo looks good because Paul Pierce and Ray Allen (and the Boston role players) make Rondo look good…
And if you don’t think Rondo should have been suspended at the very least 1 game for either incident he was involved in, then you are blindly retarded and should diaf for not knowing the NBA rules and liking a dirty player…
May 4, 2009 at 12:42 pm #83796d2.sticky-icky
ParticipantI don’t think Rondo should’ve been suspended for either play. Ever since the 90s ended, NBA refs have become way too soft. It’s nice to see some nastiness from time to time.
If you look at the Brad Miller play, Rondo did what any other player his size would’ve done. With the game on the line, if you’re a guard and you see Miller driving to the hoop the only thing you can do to stop him is to foul him hard. But did it deserve a suspension? No way. It was just a hard foul. Did Rondo deserve a flagrant foul? Yes.
If you look at the Kirk Hinrich play, Rondo just shoved him to the baseline. Did that deserve a suspension? HELL NO. Seeing both of them go at it was HILARIOUS. CAT FIGHT *MEOWWWWWW*

a ) When you swing at a person’s head and HIT THEM, and draw blood, especially when he had NO play on the ball…that is at the very least a flagrant 1, more likely a flag. 2.
b ) When Rondo THREW/Slingshotted Hinrich into the SCORERS table, NOT the baseline…that should have been an ejection, and then he followed up with exactly what Dwight Howard which was threw an elbow/punch(same thing) at a persons head. There is no stipulation whether you hit the person or not, according to the rules it is an automatic suspension…
And maybe you didn’t know that Hinrich was an extremely good boxer during his time at Kansas, he would have *edited*ed the *edited* out of Rondo’s *edited* *edited*…

Participant<3 Yahoo. His point = my point

And yea, all my friends facebook statuses changed the moment Rondo did both of those things calling him a *edited*ty player and then they got even more upset when Doc Rivers laughed about it and said he would tell Rondo to do the exact same thing again.
Sticky, i agree that basketball is too soft. But drawing blood on a foul with no intention of going for the ball should be a suspension. If D-Howard can get suspended for throwing a bo at a guy while fighting for a rebound..then Rondo should have been “HE GONE”, even though i’m a Cubs game >.>. The slingshotting, as Yahoo perfectly described it as, was also bull*edited*. Hinrich was boxing him out and then Rondo decided to be a *edited* and pull him to the baseline and then throw him into the scoring table..No call?? Gtfo…
May 4, 2009 at 3:52 pm #83829d2.sticky-icky
ParticipantThe Dwight Howard incident was different. He didn’t throw the elbow while fighting for a rebound…are you kidding? Howard threw the elbow after the play was over and while he was running back to the other end of the court.
The Brad Miller foul should’ve been an ejection for Rondo. (flagrant 2)
Kirk Hinrich exaggerated the shove that Rondo made. Hinrich was just acting so that he could try to get Rondo ejected. If you look at the incident again, Rondo didn’t even shove him that hard yet Hinrich flew. Hinrich weighs 190 lbs. and Rondo weighs only 170 lbs. Seriously? Look at the replay again and you can clearly see that the incident was a minor one. The Robert Horry shove on Steve Nash in the playoffs awhile ago was a REAL SHOVE.

Did you even see either of those plays.
The Horry “shove” as you put it was nothing more than Robert Horry planting his large body and leaning into a tiny Steve Nash that was running full speed. Was it unnecessary, yes, but Big Shot Bob did what he needed to do, and that was get in the way of him.
Rondo and Hinrich’s ARMS were tied up, and then Rondo flung him to the ground, and with enough force, people do slide, weight difference or not. Rondo has shown already with Brad Miller that size means nothing when attempting to hurt a player(whether he actually wanted to hurt him is irrelevant). And yes, the Howard bow was not fighting for a rebound, it was after the play, socal is dumb : ) . But the elbow Rondo threw should have either ejected him from that game immediately, or at the very least suspended him one game. I mean look at what happened to Melo two(I think) years ago, he gets one measly *edited* punch in, then runs, and gets suspended something ridic like 23 games? But he was not the commissioners golden child(LeBron), or his prodigy team(Celtics), so he was going to be made example of…
May 4, 2009 at 7:18 pm #83851d2.sticky-icky
ParticipantThe elbow that Rondo threw at Hinrich didn’t connect with Hinrich. So he shouldn’t be suspended or ejected. I looked at the Hinrich/Rondo incident again and it really wasn’t that serious.
However, Melo was suspended for a long time b/c he escalated the situation even more. It’s not b/c Melo isn’t liked by the league. That’s poor logic. If you remember the incident, Nate and JR Smith were going at it and they were both being separated. Then Melo swooped in after the situation was becoming calm and sucker punched Mardy in the face. It wasn’t one measly punch. It was a pretty huge punch actually.

You do not know the rules then…the rule states,
“Violent acts of any nature on the court will not be tolerated. Players involved in altercations will be ejected, fined and/or suspended.
Officials have been instructed to eject a player who throws a punch, whether or not it connects, or an elbow which makes contact above shoulder level. If elbow contact is shoulder level or below, it shall be left to the discretion of the official as to whether the player is ejected. Even if a punch or an elbow goes undetected by the officials during the game, but is detected during a review of a videotape, that player will be penalized.”

Please man…anyone can google NBA rules. If you look at the play closely, Rondo threw the elbow up in defense b/c Hinrich started to charge at him. Case closed. This incident happened in the first round. No more discussion over this. OKAY?! rofl

Orlando in 6, Rockets in 6??!?!?!?!?!
If the Rockets can hang on to home court the rest of this series(a seriously difficult task with L.A.) then I see no reason why they won’t be facing LeBron in the finals…
And like L.A., Houston matches up well with Cleveland reasonably well. But of course we have to somehow hold home court with Kobe first!

Oh and Clyde Drextel or w/e. He was good but no MJ lolLOL at having no claim to fame…We had one of the most dominant undersized big man to ever play the game who is the ALL TIME leading shot blocker: HAKEEM THE DREAM!! Drexler was an afterthought who just assured we would get two chips while MJ was gone, and not just one…And if you disagree with the dominant part, he wrecked Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, and a young Shaq in two years, securing his name as one of the best(top 3?) big men to ever step onto the court…
And the Rockets game is not getting the hype it should because everyone keeps going back to the fact that L.A. took all four games this year against Houston, but they neglect to mention that Houston did not have the same lineup in any of those games…And the playoffs is a whole different monster compared to regular season…
Game two will be fun, expect Kobe to get his 30+ points not on 31 shots, but on something fun like 15-20 shots with ample trips to the freethrow line. But also look to see Bynum attempt to front Yao, and if he can’t front, expect L.A. to throw a second man on Yao immediately. Phil will not let Yao dominate another game in L.A.
And you cannot expect Ron Artest to shoot as “well” as he did in the next game or two. But do expect Yao to get his(most likely), and if Fish is still guarding Brooks for big minutes, expect Brooks to get his 15-20 easily again. The x factor in this game is how well Odom and Pau play. If Artest shuts down Odom again and he and Ariza don’t get going at all then L.A. might be in trouble, because Pau is not the type of player to volunteer to take over a game. Especially when ScoLandry will be working their asses off trying to deny and stop Pau.
I am hoping for a Houston win in 6, but more realistically I see this going 7 games and I’m leaning towards L.A. taking it…

if only the bulls didn’t choke like some chokers in game 7. Chicago had a good run but they team is weak. REAL WEAK. Rockets could handle those boys any day.

If he played..we had a good chance at the championship. C’mon now, don’t get bitter..it’s okay that you have no good teams lately
Well besides the Rockets in the playoffs this year =P kidddinggggWe haven’t has good sports in a couple years..But the rise to prominence is coming..oh you wait…JUST WAIT!
