as much as i like my sandwitch, i think it would be a level playing field if everyone used the stock equipement. its just the fair way to do things. Hope we get to play some arena, as thats more fast past tourry style.
also in the past we have assigned random teams, as well as chosed our own. in both cases it was not a level playing field. I think if we select 4 team captons (and these being ppl that know the game and the players at western). it will split the better players up and the better runner up players up and each team will have a noob or 2.

last time we randomized teams but made sure that the 4 “best” players weren’t on the same team…

If you want me to host it or at least help out, just ask. I don’t really play any more, but I still know the correct way of running a good SC tourny.
…Also, I’m sad to see Mario Kart 64 get bumped off the list.
The problems I see with UT2K4 are the problems I see always arising with UT at any lan. Anyone can assume already what one of the reasons is, as its been the reason why we haven’t had UT2K4 at any of the past lans (well, at least the past 6 lans or so), and the other is: are those who do not have the game going to be able to install and join it anyways? We already know we can do this with DoD:S, so it’ll be nice to find that info out. Also, if we don’t want UT2K4 or DoD:S… Q3A!

We were able to install UT2k4 before… DOD:S doesn’t work anymore cause valve fixed that glitch with the “offline mode” thing so if they don’t own DOD:S, they can’t play. If they don’t own UT2K4, they still can.

Day of defeat source is an FPS that is team-based and a valve game. Its like a WWII mix of TF2 and CSS. No variety there sir. You must have it confused with some other game.

also i see that the console gaming generally give most of the variety because PC wise there are only so many kinds of games
what you guys need is a racing game… Need for Speed 2

Also, yeah I’m pretty sure we bought the LAN account because we could have multiple people using the account at the lan, thus allowing people to play DoD:S, etc. We’ve done it before :>

That was before. I don’t think you can do it anymore. I guess we will see though.
remember dell will have 10 lappys their to run all the games if your equipement cannot. i know a few that are counting on them.

This is something that needs to be clarified very quickly as the laptops are worthless if people still can’t play on them.

Multiple people on one account playing the same game.valve does not sell “LAN accounts” they sell LAN slots for $2 a person per day with a 2 day min. so the account is just a normal account with the games we play at the lans. we have used it 8+ times w/ sv_lan 1 set in offline mode, and it supports up to 9 or 10 offline users b4 it starts kicking ppl. not sure if the found out the loophole we have been using. but if so we got a uneless account on our hands.
i gess we can try it at the event. /cross your fingers
