It’s been rumored for years that Lucas was going to do a 7-9 trilogy. Tbh, there’s much more of what fans want, action and thought-provoking political backstabbing, in the years following the Return of the Jedi and significantly less of what the fans hate, sappy, love story, character development.
7-9 would include the Thrawn saga which has some of the most epic battles in the Star Wars timeframe. I mean this is the guy that took Coruscant out of the war without losing a single ship. Epic doesn’t do him justice.
Althought it wouldn’t surprise me in Lucasarts labels the entire Thrawn Campaign to be non-cannon and replaced it with their own rendition. Considering how he likes screw the fans over, that’s probably the route he’ll take.

Only one thing I know about George Lucas… he’s always game for making more money. Like how he trademarked “droid” being used specifically for mobile devices right before the phones came out…
Mitch, I’m pretty sure you are talking about expanded universe stuff and I doubt Lucas would adapt other people’s work when he could just come up with his own stories. Expect fail.
Remember: there were a lot ofl prequel Star Wars books written between trilogies and (unless I’m mistaken) Lucas pretty disregarded them.

You be surprised, actually. The Thrawn Crisis is considered canonical, as are many of the trilogy novels that take place after RotJ. Now there’s a point where the canon stops but I think it’s pretty well established up to around 100 years after RotJ.
Now granted, canonical doesn’t implicitly mean Lucas-approved but if he plans on re-writing the series’ canon he’ll create a massive exodus of fans in the process.
Well, if Lucas were to adapt some of the expanded universe novels, he might actually satisfy someone, and he pretty much gave up on that after Howard the Duck.
Yeah I won’t believe it until I’m in the theater watching it. And even then I won’t fully believe it until the credits start scrolling.
To be perfectly honest, I really don’t care about the expanded universe. To me, it’s just fan fiction. Is some of it well written? Probably, but it just doesn’t interest me. I know some people behind the Star Wars movies have even declared some of the expanded universe to be canon. I still don’t care. To me, Star Wars is synonimous with the original trilogy. That’s pretty much all I care about in regards to Star Wars. As for the prequel trilogy, ick. Admitedly, Revenge of the Sith was the least bad of the three, but I don’t think should even be taken into consideration when discussing one’s appreciation of Star Wars.

I concur. It was hilarious, but was smart & true.
I’m convinced. That guy writes epic reviews. Watch them all. His Attack of the Clones review is pretty good.

I have given up hope of maintaining a community that is ran by crackhead and retards. I cannot foresee the servers becoming populated again nor do I see these forums lasting much longer. This benchmark thread here has been the only reason I still came back to the forums every day long after the servers and club turned a direction I choose not to follow. Even now its post consist of things I can pm you about or see on your facebooks. Now that this thread has reached 2000 posts and over 100 pages I can be content in my decision to leave the discussion for good.
I love all of you who I have gamed with for the past 3-4 years. Most of you are still on my steam list so I can still keep in contact and I still hope to see you guys around as I’ll hop on to play in L4D2 or TF2. I think I have nearly all of you on Facebook and if not you are on Steam.
You can remove my admin and all that if you wish.
